  • Did you use airbrush

  • @itgel98 No, while I do have an airbrush, I don't have a fine enough tip to get good results in small scales

  • Im not sure why the Mk is lacking in detail, I have the new Mk1A in my stash and it has a decent cockpit and wheel wells. Your's certainly come out a treat. I'm surprised by the fact you did so much painting prior to the fusalage halves going together, did'nt the need for filler and sanding pose too much of a risk. Enjoyed the vid, nicely compiled.

  • @chancerNW experience has taught me that its way easier to paint them first before glueing, I never like useing decals

  • Do you not gloss the model-up first, then apply the decals? This is the best way, then matt over them. Johnson's Future floor-wax makes a great, thin varnish, it even takes scratches off canopies! This kit looks nice, I have the observation one somewhere to build. Have you built any Academy stuff? Lovely kits, horrible sticker-thick decals, you'll never complain about Airfix ones again!

  • @ajivins1 Yes I have built and Academy B-17 that to was a bad kit, and the decals to were bad, taht being said, airfix did make some decals that were way worse, they still arn't as good as they used to be, I've had some older Airfix decals that never needed solvent. I'm currently in the process of getting some micro solvent :)

  • @rebelsatcloudnine I think I have the B17, not built it though. The Thunderbolt 'Eileen' was great with wheel wells, great interior etc but was ruined by decals that wouldn't even curve around the fusilage! I picked-up the larger 1.48th version cheap and will try to do this better hopefullly! A problem I had with recent Aifix was exploding decals! Hobbyboss are usually extremely simple but their F 84 and Moraine Saulnier were nice with nice decals!

  • YAh Spitfire is DA BEST!

  • Very nice model

Please tell me how the invasion stripes were painted on in more detail. I really want to make this model again but the decal stripes didn't turn out that well

  • @THEROBSWORLD I used Tamiya Tape and masked off the area where the stripes were soppose to go, painted then white, then measured the area in between and measued out the tape, cut them adn applied them to the model, then I added the black, after taht I masked off the stripes until I completed the model, the intakes I eyeballed, because I couldn't get the lines to matck on the other side, without glueing the wings and fuselage, I taped (not glues) the halves togeather so the line would match.
