Awesome ! Oh yea, for my major design work in yr 12 im making a mortal kombat II arcade machine - So that will be fun. But thanks for your help, I may also make a pinball machine so you have helped me out alot. Dont forget to show me your website when your done.
Oh also, how did you get the flippers to work ? Did you do it ike the microswitches ? but, how do you get them to 'flip' the ball ? Motors in them ??? So when you press the button on the side, it activates the flipper ? Is that how ? I'm sorry to annoy you but your to good at this stuff man. Thanks again
Thank you ! - One last question, Could you give me your qbasic file so I can open it up on my PC. Cause I would like to make a pinball machine and yours is to good as it has the microswitches and awesome slingshots !
1) I wrote a simple Qbasic program. All the targets (microswitches) are wired to an old keyboard chip (demolish an old one to get it). From there it is connected with a regular keyboard jack to the computer. When the ball activates as switch, a letter is produced (for example the letter A for bumper 1, and letter T for bumper 2). The program I wrote translates the letter into a certain amount of points.
3) The slingsghot coils fire when the ball hits the rubber band (activating a switch touching the rubber band). So they are not connected to the computer (yet), and do not generate points (yet). Because the voltage over the switch is 40V, and voltage over the "keyboard-switches" is only 5 volts. (It would fry the circuit)
Now another month has gone by :D

I think that I input into a PC by manual operation when a ball fell is good.

Hello Haunted,
I'm building a make-your-own-pinball-yourself website. With details of how I worked around some problems and how the stuff works.
I expect to launch in within a week or 2. I'll keep you posted!

1) What program are you using on your computer to detect the points from the slingshots ?
2) How did you wire it up to your pc ?(USB ?)
3) How do the slingshots work ? And how do you wire those to a PC to detect the ball and 'sling' it back ?
Thanks - This helps me out and other people also ! Nice work on it btw. Hop you finish it with nice colours and so on ...

To answer your questions:

From there it is connected with a regular keyboard jack to the computer. When the ball activates as switch, a letter is produced (for example the letter A for bumper 1, and letter T for bumper 2). 2) integrated the answer in 1)
3) The slingsghot coils fire when the ball hits the rubber band (activating a switch touching the rubber band). So they are not connected to the computer (yet), and do not generate points (yet). Because the voltage over the switch is 40V, and voltage over the "keyboard-switches" is only 5 volts. (It would fry the circuit)
