if you're staying for 3 weeks or more , get a metro pass called navigo which unlimited for a month , i should also mention that these tickets are also valid for the bus

Don't forget to ask for the Carte Orange if you are going to stay for a week! A really nice place to go for picnic is also Saint Martin Canal... lovely place, free of cars in the riversides on sundays!
