  • holy shit this song is amazingggg

best part.. " so you wanna build an alter on a summer night"

  • this video is such perfection. thank you for making this!

  • 20,000 light years away from Earth is an alien teenager hearing this for the first time drinking with his girlfriend and thanking his lucky stars his father bought him an FM radio for Hanukkah.

  • @soundchaser24 This song isn't 20,000 years old so that's not possible. I'm a dickhead and an asshole!

  • I haven't seen Beneath The Planet of the Apes in years. The best thing about it was the people worshipping the atom bomb. Nice bit of satire there. Anyways, this song rules.

  • Only just heard of this band via a friend. I have to admit they are awfully good. Why haven't I heard of them before ? I listen to music all the time.

  • Story of my life in a song...very nice

  • DC Berman is the undoubtedly one of the greatest singer/songwriters of my generation. Hail, Hail the Silver Jews, shame on Malkamus for not sharing all his genius with this band, lol.. Nevertheless it was not needed

  • First Silver Jews song I ever heard - I was a late-comer - was hooked from 0:50 onwards

  • i love you to the max

  • did you edit this together? it's really well done

  • simply super. thanks awfully

  • silver jews best album was definitely american water, not tanglewood. second place is starlite walker. third place is natural bridge. TN is not that good.

  • great breakdown, very top gun-ish.

  • I've always loved you to the MAX!

  • nice video

  • i love beneath the planet of the apes. awesome video.

  • i know, good sequal. i love the brain guys who worship the nuclear weapon

  • also Charleston Heston isn't actually Jewish in real life just because he played Moses..

  • "Lets not kid ourselves its really bad"

  • Thankyou eerawb..

  • Your welcome

  • you're an idiot

  • Thank you...

  • I wish they didnt break up!! Say them on both tours totally tubular!

  • great band, loved em since arizona and starlite walker. and this video i agree goes just perfect. nice one.

  • The Joos just kept getting better and better and now???? What's up with Dave?

  • haha this video reminds me of grizzly bear

    fucking awesome

  • Grizzly bear is similarly using film style evocative of film at a certain era.

Grizzly bear is tame and super mellow, and so is that video.

This is a much better song and video by leaps and bounds. This video says a lot of things the song couldn't necessarily say on its own.

  • It's good the band is so great we can all argue about the best album. I asw them in Orlando last year and it was about the last show they did. The band was genius. I Wish Dave would reconsider getting out of music. Too few truly credible bands out there to lose one

  • I love the silver jews. In my favorite playlist that i made, I've got gimme sympathy (by metric) followed shortly by new orleans and house of the rising sun

  • I don't know why but this is a seriously great video for this song. Good job.

  • I think it says a lot about human passion.

  • GREAT song. But best album??

Saw em first stop of the reunion tour, 40 watt. When they opened with random rules, I knew it was gonna be a good night......

  • Sounds like a drunken singalong in all the right ways.

  • this song is cool.. this album is cool.. but "American Water" is the best Silver Jews record.

  • @maxxwe11 You are absolutely correct.

  • Adam and Eve were Jews, hmm.

  • Actually, I take that back.

I believe it's Beneath the Planet of the Apes.

  • yeah, it is.

  • @tautou07: indeed, hence the presence of james franciscus and not charlton heston ;)

  • Christ, are you guys serious?

How do you not know what movie this is from???

It's the original Planet of the Apes.

Hence the presence of Charlton Heston and humanoid apes with nets.

  • @tautou07 It's Beneath the Planet of the Apes, dude. The sequel to Planet of the Apes. I know, I was there...

  • @tautou07 They are scenes from Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) - thus the presence of James Franciscus.

  • @tautou07 dont be snobbish and your wrong. its beneth the planet so jokes on you isnt it mr smug

  • Comment removed

  • someone pleaaase say what movie this is!! its been my mission to find out since i saw it!

  • It's scenes from a couple of Planet of the Apes flicks.

  • exactly. directed/produced for the Silver Jews by Todd Lincoln.

  • definitely my drinking song. this, or "All i need" by radiohead.

  • what movie is this from??

  • my new favourite song

  • I've always wanted to be saved by a voluptuous, horse-striding cave-woman whilst recovering from a near-fatal plane crash

  • this guy sounds like johnny cash

  • for some reason this makes me think of nothing.

  • fucking awesome. seems so random, but it also seems like it was meant to be.

  • i love YOU to the max! nukes, tandem cantering, erotic asphyxiation...its too good, too good...

  • this reminds me of the 10 commandments n planet of the apes

  • For some reason this made me think about the film "Sleeper."

  • This is the greatest video ever.

  • What an awesome combination of sound and vision. ^___^
