V-tech, VTEC, Vee Teck, however the fuck you want to spell it, it still is just a fancy way of saying "Variable Valve Timing". The ONLY thing it does is allow you to have the valves open bigger and for longer at higher RPM. And every manufacturer has their own version of it. Ti-VCT (Ford), VTECH (Honda), VVT-i (Toyota) who the fuck cares. They're all overrated. Although that new 5.0L Ford makes with the VCT is pretty damn impressive to me. They underrated it at 412 hp. Actual is about 460 hp. :)

@joebeckham actually VTECH is variable valve timing with a secondary cam that produces valve lift. So instead of just all the valves engaging like VVT all the valves engage, and are held open for longer periods by the secondary (more aggressive) cam. So identical engines one with VTECH one with VVT or VCT the vtech would be more powerful. ask google if you don't believe me, and yes the new 5.0 is sweet as is the ecoboost :)
