if you walk around very old buildings you`ll notice the ceilings and doorways are definately lower than their modern equivalent. Plus, modern diets of junk food have increased peoples height - see china for a recent example

Humans were actually quite tall several thousand years ago.
Today, women at least are getting shorter with each generation.
