This song is so amazing in that it completely reflects Ben. Mysterious and tense music during the first minute to show how at first he was a deceptive and devious character but then the soft gentle music to reflect how he transforms into a genuinely warm and good-hearted man by the end of the show. In my opinion, the best character created by the LOST producers!

Even though Benjamin Linus wasn't a very good guy, he had his reasons. He's someone to admire though, he is everything a villain should be. Smart, witty, classy, and the master at manipulating.

What really ruined 'LOST' was the writer's strike. The main writer(s) were canned or left the show and original storylines were cut...budgets for seasons 5 & 6 were considerably reduced. Too many characters were brought on and killed off after season 4, it would have made more sense to keep the original cast from the first 4 seasons until the end.

A rival researcher (Mittelwerk) was against the Dharma project, brought his own team of people, dressed in old clothes, to the island. They also brought a bacteria or virus that caused the women's birth problems.

Ben had a sad and complicated life. In the original never told story (scrapped in season 5), he grew up to marry his childhood friend Annie Degroots, daughter of the Dharma Initiative foundr. She died while giving birth to their son Carl. Ben was so upset that he gave up Carl for adoption; he blamed Carl for Annie's death, just like Ben's father always shunned him for Emily's death. The original story had the Degroots (A&E) hiding in the cave during the Purge. Ben ordered Annie to gas them.

Also: plans to film Ben & Henry Gale having words, storyline of original island inhabitants arriving from the Mid East / Egypt, summoning 'Cerebrus' the smoke monster in the temple, more Dharma stations, Ben & Locke were half brothers (had the same mother Emily),

It's so weird how Ben's character develops. He starts off the antagonist, the leader of the others, going against everything, and then his good side is brought out, and he becomes the leader of the Island. Not only that, but his transformation is so genuine that the audience comes to love him in the end despite him being, as other's said, the bad guy.

The most complex song in the series for the most complex character (and my favorite) of the series. The song perfectly describes Ben's ruthlessness and untrustworthiness as well as his deep sorrow and guilt. Michael Emerson was absolute gold as Benjamin Linus.

Ben is the best character on the show bar none! I think he will be the hero and kill Smokey in end and probably die in the process. And he also has the best character music in my opinion, it's so emotional and sad. Michael Emerson is such a brilliant actor!

Giacchino is great, he portayed perfectly every character (indeed,ben's music is so particular, creepy and scary on the outside, tender and wonderful in the inside)after episode 7 I like ben even more!!! Michael Emerson was amazing in there!!

Oh and whilst everyone is giving theories of the end I'll tell you mine: I think that it is definitely something to do with religion...think about it, Jacob, Benjamin, John (all religious names), they were building a church in one of the first 3 seasons; I think season 2, they had the reunion off the island with Eloise in a CHURCH! I dunno, I just think religion has a big part to play, especially with the whole destiny issue.

I think Jack is Jacob, and Locke is going to be at a crossroads when he finds out that he has to kill jack. But when he decides to kill Jack, Ben and Alpert kill Locke first. Thats just my theory for the season finale
