  • what song is that called

  • @hersanttosterethan1

    Enya - Book of Days

  • Fuck Roy! Martin Brodeur= Best of all-time!

  • @KUchampsin11 How many Con Smythe's does Brodeur have

    Brodeur= 3 Stanley Cups, 0 Con Smythe's

    Roy= 4 Stanley Cups, 3 Con smythe's

    2. If you hate Roy why the fuck are you here?

  • @kosimitz Cause I like the song. Well he got screwed out of one Conn smythe (2003)

  • @KUchampsin11 How? Giguere outplayed him.

Even still, 1 CS to Roy's 3. Also, Roy outplayed Brodeur badly in 2001 when Brodeur was in his prime and Roy was close to retirement. Even though Brodeur had a really low GAA close to 2 even, his SV% was under .900. In other words, the D's trapping caused a low number of goals to be scored, but there were hardly any shots on net (AKA the Devils won DESPITE Brodeur).

  • @TheSkookumchuk And by Devils won, I don't mean the Stanley Cup, I mean they won games despite him.

  • @kosimitz Not to mention, Roy out-dueled Brodeur to win his forth Stanley Cup.

  • GO BRUINS

  • best ever

  • the first time i saw this, the music almost made me want to cry

  • @holdenisinfairport

Best goalie to ever have played the game bro.

  • As a habs fan I wish we never traded him, couldve led us to at least one more cup, for colorado I congratulate you on getting to see such a great player during his prime. He's one of the big reasons I never wanted Carey Price to be traded I saw another Roy trade coming

  • @subbanged I felt honored to see him work his magic in Denver from 96 to 03.

About Carey Price, I agree. Guy's only, what, 23 years old? He's got a LONG future ahead of him and when you think about it, one of Halak or Price had to go. Price played his arse off against the Bruins, just wasn't quite enough.

Also, LOVE Subban. That guy has got a wicked wrister.

  • It WAS the best of times, it is NOW the worst of times.

  • The GREAT ONE will live on.

  • whats the name of this song?!?!?!?!? gotta know

  • Once a Hab, always a Hab.

  • Oh sure I could do that too if had an extra left arm and double-jointed hips and the reflexes of a coked up mongoose.

  • Patrick Roy gave up rebounds just so he could make more stops for his save %. Best glove to have ever existed. Best everything. Ever.

  • I'm a Wings fan (born and raised in Detroit), but damn I still love Patrick Roy. He was a great guy, and a bloodthirsty bastard who you could always expect to fight well and make the games fun.

  • @Downsight Thanks, he was also a guy who had the abiity to rise up when you least expected it. Even before he got to Colorado and led the Avs to two cups he took unheralded Montreal teams to Cup titles in 86 and 93.

  • Both played in the league 20 years Roy: Regular Season wins = 551(#2 All time) Regular season GA = 2.54(#20 All Time) Regular season save % = .9102(#18 All Time) Playoff wins = 151(# 1 All Time) Playoff Shutouts = 23 #1(All Time) Hasek: Regular season wins = 389, #11(All time) Regular season GAA = 2.02 #7(All Time) Regular season save % = .9223 #1(All Time) Playoff wins = 5 # 11(All Time) Playoff Shutouts = 14 # 7(All Time)
  • @HipHopHead5611

Concerning career stats, you might want to take into perspective that Hasek had a 12 YEAR of career behind him when he received a proper chance to start in the NHL. He was already 29 years old in 1994. Hasek start for his national team as a18 year old prodigy!!! If he had a chance to spend those years in NHL he would've brake all the records possible!

  • @HymanKaplan What ifs and speculation don't mean shit

  • patrick Roy is cool

  • I'm a lifelong Red Wings fans and guess what ? Roy was the greatest ever. Yup, I said it.

  • @Abasuto Funny thing, I'm an Avs fan and I think #33's accomplishments with the legendary Canadiens made him a legend even before he got to Denver. He stood on his head in 86 and 93 and that's in large part why the Habs won cups in those years (one of them, 93, being IMHO one of the best playoff years for the NHL ever)

  • the two goalies i like are hasek and roy, i like hasek for the way he plays in net and the way he makes saves and i like roy for the things he does inbetween whistles like when he hit mike gartner behind his net and little things like that, it is entertaining

  • Roy > Jesus

  • @Leclwrd that is a sin, there is only jesus and his name is jesus

  • just remember avs fans statue of liberty 2002 western confrence finals game 6

and then game 7 gave up 6 goals on 18 shots and a first round loss to the MINNESOTA WILD IN 2003!

    GOOOOOOOOOOOO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @andyszczubelek That's two games compared to the 551 wins 2 stanely cups for the canadiens and the 2 he brought to the AVS!!! Seriously no one compares to Roy you're just jealous that your stupid little team couldn't get the greatest goalie in hockey history.

  • @djens33

oh no theres more like giving up 9 goals to the wings and then quiting with montreal.

    hes a good sport too!

like were he got scored on a penalty shot and then he slammed his stick on both posts threw it at the ref then attacked the ref and then was sent out of the game...but nuthing compares to him beating his wife.

  • @andyszczubelek i dont know why your critizing patrick roy when he has won 3 cups and has played in the NHL and you havnt done jack shit

  • patrick roy is second only to ken dryden, and that is saying something :)

  • why when he brought his son out was i thinking "SIMBA"?

  • Best Regular Season Goalie...

    Best Goalie in the Playoffs...

    Best Goalie Ever...Period

  • Maybe not the Best in Regular Season... but definitly the best Playoffs goalie of all-time. When it counts!

He gives Montreal in last 2 Stanley cup with a average team.

  • He is wothout question, one of the best goalies ever to grace the NHL. He would make the amazing and brilliant look normal. I wish Roy all the best now he is no longer playing. So long no 33.

  • some one i looked up to since i was young :D

  • No matter what..

    Brodeour did beat Roy's Records.

But for me, Patrick will always be number 1.

I have adopted and copied his style in my own goaltendership.

    Patrick, Thank you for everything

  • @apraken he beats his regular season records, but isn't even close to him in playoff performance. Brodeur just had a good consistent trap team in front of him all his career, while Roy had to play a much bigger role in Montreal when he carried them into and through the playoffs, same thing with Colorado, but to a lesser degree.

  • Hello :)

Help name song in Video please ?:)

    Thanks :-)

  • @JaniChek1990 "Book of Days" by Enya. it sounds better when not looped as it is here.

  • @dfschmidtify Thank :)

  • Patric Roy is and will be the greatest GOLIE EVER because of him I was a golie.

  • I'm a lifelong Red Wings fan I'll say.......Roy was the greatest. The more important the game, the better he got. Pure clutch.

  • INSTITUTE A HOLIDAY IN QUEBEC for October 5

birthday of Mario Lemieux and Patrick Roy. day of hockey mastery-

the freaking stars were aligned that day!

  • best goalie of all time, no despute. He's the reason why i wear 33. favorite, and best goalie ever

  • HANDS DOWN THE BEST GOALIE THAT EVER LIVED

  • @HipHopHead5611 sorry that title belongs to 'The dominator' and btw i am not a wings fan

  • @HipHopHead5611 nope hasek is

  • @gameglitcher7 Hasek isn't even the best Red Wings goalie to live, you can't even compare the two.

Roy led two mediocre Canadien Teams to stanely Cups and two very Avs talented teams

Hasek has two Cups with two very talented Red Wings Teams, if Roy was on the Red Wings during that time He prolly would of had more than two

  • @HipHopHead5611 Hasek still led a shitty team (Buffalo '99) to the finals and almost won the cup for them. ALONE. He didn't have Sakic or Forsberg in there dude.. Taking nothing away from Roy, but Hasek was the better goalie.

  • The only 3 stats Hasek has on Roy are 3 Regular season stats and we all know in Hockey the post season is much more important and the players play at a higher level than in the regular season. Roy is #1 or #1 in almost every playoff goalie stat use to be #1 in all of them but Broduer broke a couple.

Roy is the only player to win 3 conn smythe trophies (the most prestigious award in hockey next to the stanely cup) Hasek never won ONE conn smythe, he x2 more cups than Hasek.

  • @HipHopHead5611 who cares how many awards some one won, it is a team sport and you can't compare the two goalies cus they are two totally different people with different styles

  • @HipHopHead5611 Hasek's prime was in Buffallo and at that time he was by far the best golie in the world and had no competition.

  • @gameglitcher7

You don't kno shit about Hockey, not only does Roy have more two more Cups on lesser skilled teams(the canadiens not the avs), he outplayed Hasek in a lot of the playoffs series when they went head to head.

Roy meant a lot more to the Avs and canadiens then Hasek,

when Roy retired the Avs were never the same

When Hasek left the Wings they were fine

  • @HipHopHead5611

    You mean hands up lol?

  • you wanna know why he retired? the wings kicked his ass in game 7 of 2002 play offs...ended his career

  • @comedyman94the2nd

Wrong! He retired after the 2003 season

  • @Slayknot well if the wings cut his career short thats for sure

  • @Slayknot damnit that doesnt make any sense the wings cut his career short thats wut im trying to say

  • i have like his helm !!!!!!

  • i miss pre 04-05 lockout nhl

  • @GoCanucksssssssGoooo have you seen roy play? He showboats all day long. (and before you say something i am a Roy fan)

  • Wats this song called??

  • @IMorzan book of days by enya

  • Legend.

  • hey avalanche fans, what u think about aebischer?

  • @bagybf1942 well, being a habs fan who was stuck with him i have a pretty good idea what they think. he's worse then price and has no business being in the NHL, especially as a starter.

  • @danhabsfan9 Well Theo didn't work out too well for us, either. I would have rather kept Abby and traded for Jose.

  • @jackavsfan i would have just kept halak

  • 1:00 - 1:32 !!!

  • Best goalie to ever grace the ice.

  • I really hope Craig Anderson becomes 1/2 as good as Roy was. He's probably 1/4 of the way there.

  • sé quoi le titre de la chanson ?

  • the 22 people who disliked this are red wings fans.

    go avs!

  • @tstarr17 I'm a red wing fan and i still say to this day patrick roy was the best there ever was, i do however miss the Av vs Rw rivalries. those games were so intense.

  • @Omniswell it's still a good rivalry, but not as intense. until we got craig anderson, we've sucked at goalie

  • @tstarr17. Yeah GO AVS GO!!!

  • @tstarr17 there still pissed because he layed out osgood but if he wouldve been our goalie during steve moore, that wouldve gotten bloody

  • @tstarr17 Well im a Red Wings fan but i still think Roy is the best goalie in the world.

  • He was and is the BEST

  • greatest goalie of all time, french canadian goalies 4tw

  • Roy,Sakic and Foote the best player AVS

  • @19Sakicj Forsberg too

  • @capsfan7 Yes Forsberg was magic

  • i miss roy...never really watch the colorado anymore since he left :(

  • Patrick Roy. The reason why I became a fan of the Avalanche in the mid 90s. Every hockey night was st.patricks night :)

  • love ya

    \

  • i get so mad when people compare roberto luango to partick roy... roberto is good but he uses the butterfly style which you just need to let the puck hit with little effort when you go down.... roy had to put his body infront of the shot make the same make the rebound go to side or cover it... ROY FOR LIFE!

  • @monkey123246 luongo does not play the butterfly,

  • @GoalieTributesHD luongo plays a hybrid style which is a combination of stand up and butterlfy... both of those techniques are effective but they dont take as much skill as what roy did... the style he used has disapeared because the butterfly/hybrid is an easier way to do the job... roy's style takes a lot more skill

  • @monkey123246 i do see your point, but theres a lot of skill behind the butterfly style that you probably dont realize, ive been learning it my whole life. its really technical so i guess its more thinking, where as apposed to roys was more relying on athleticism

  • @GoalieTributesHD well im a goalie also... i use butterfly but to be skillful in that its all about positioning your body correctly... where as roy reacts to the shot

  • @monkey123246 so if i drop down on every shot what would i be? im like never on my feet when i make a save

  • @Jsouthwell2006 that would make you a butterfly goalie

  • @monkey123246 Pretty sure Patrick Roy was one of the founding fathers of the butterfly...

    Lol.

  • @monkey123246 You're confused. Luongo uses the profly style, just like almost every other goalie who came into the league after, oh, about the 1995 season or so. The difference with Roy is that he basically modernized the profly and made it practicable at the NHL level. Goalies since him have been improving and improving on it. But Roy was the pioneer.

  • @Hurley474 your right about hasek lol but i think i play better if i play butterfly instead of a fish out of water

  • Awesome goalie! I love him!!

  • epic song epic goalie.

  • Song ?

  • @jacky5111 enya - book of days

  • Patrick Roy was and still is the blueprint of his postion.

  • What a lad

  • this proves roy is the best golie to ever play the game

  • the NHL people should make a team that is onley NHL ledgins

  • He was amazing........... Although he did that dumb ass thing whenever he made a glove save

  • HATERS GONNA HATE

  • i play goalie, and befor every game i watch this...it gets me pumped a hell

  • At 2:56 you can see why Roy is the better of all time... he is a real. U can see the focus on his face. Roy > Brodeur. Thats it.

  • patrick roy is no dought the best goalie ever

  • im a nucks fan.. but i loved this era in the nhl when Colorado was hot.

  • Brodeur faggs

  • quelle connerie de l'avoir échangé

une des pire gaffe de toute l'histoire du canadien

Le plus grand gardien de but de tout les temps

THE GREATEST GOALER OF ALL TIME

  • la plus grosse gafe quon a jamais faite

  • awesome vid, gives you chills with the music

  • I miss the old Avs. New guys aren't bad but defiantly not great.

  • @Reaper6207 except matt duchene...he has potential

  • @blackout1191 True but still, we had a stacked team that just played to have fun.

  • enya - titanic (8)

  • @justinvienneau no its enya - book of days

  • whats the name of the song

  • Brodeur who? Never heard of him.

  • o.O I don't get why everyone's determined to pick one single "great" of all time. Marty, Roy, Hasek, and Giacomin all have their merits to put them right up there together in my book. And Miller and Lundqvist are setting a fine stage for future generations of goalies.

Cool video thought, thanks for the upload.

  • great video

  • roy is an arrogant and self centered jerk, but it was that arrogance that made him great. he is one of the greatest athletes of all time.

  • @mynameisweiner im agree

  • music sucks, but roy is the greatest goalie ever. broduers only breaking his records cuz he has a better team to help out the goaltending.

  • greatest goalie ever! sorry marty shootout wins dont count!

  • gay song

  • sorry brodeur, roy was just amazing period.

  • Every time I see this pompous prick somewhere I remember the statue of liberty and Mike Vernon kicking her ass. What a little bitch.

  • @shoeman12 so y r u watching this video of him then?

  • @shoeman12 Vernon only grip his pad to take him down... what a ass kicker! haha!

  • i wish roy would play 1 more game just like old times. he is the best goalie and will all was be the best

  • Colorado Avs never been the same after he retired

  • 4:07 , wow it's Teemu Selanne in San Jose Sharks :o #8

  • miss roy. i miss pre-lockout nhl in general

  • Great song

  • Really? It's the song you paid attention to? Wow.

  • lol 3:51 i dont think he even ment to catch that

  • this guy is what made goalie position look awesome instead of just dropping everytime he was diving and would do anythig he had to stop the puck. The best goalie ever.....

  • fucking awesome goalie!!! I really miss him! :(

  • "go to your URL bar, put the a "Q" between the words you and tube, then press enter"

  • patrick roy is the best all time and my favorite right now is luongo

  • Roy will ALWAYS be The Best in my eyes

  • fk brodeur le meilleur ses ( roy ) 4 life

  • roy is soooooo much better than broduer just because broduer has more wins dosent mean shit

  • he may be a dickhead but wow the saves ge makes

  • really amazing skills

  • i liked the one were he blocked the 3 red wings best

  • I love Roy! He's my favorite goalie.
