Gotta SPAM problem? Blame AOL, Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo

I have about 700 spam messages coming from porn and dating sites ALL THE TIME! i think its time i make a new email

In thepast three weeks I have received over one hundred porno spam, every one from an AOL address. I am going to block all incoming email from AOL. I have written to aol to tell 'em - do they care? Only if thousand of others do the same, so why not give it a go and let these complacent bastardos know that customers do have rights.

i also dont no if its spam but its anoying i have to copy and paste the sites address (witch is shown at the bottem of the info about the link, site, ect) and it would be faster to click the link. the only site i no that works is the WoW site so if you are a wizzard of the internet then help me hudge problem

when i click on every google found link it brings me to bissunss sites and "Get money from posting links on google illgly (added the illgle part) site(s) and im like OMFG GOOGLES BEEN SPAMIFIED OMG

Part #4) Regardless of what the other options are, a collaboration of the big 4 will not make spam filtering exceptionally more effective, it will only make consistent filters across platforms... which is not really that exciting of a proposition.

Part #3) You state your problem as being the effectiveness of the current anti-spam software, however, even if the big 4 email providers are able to develop a much better software in collaboration, it will still not be some magical technology that completely fixes the issue of spam.

A more effective (though difficult) solution is for legislation to be passed in various countries banning the formation of businesses that provide spam advertising services to other companies looking to advertise.

Part #1) I understand that if all 4 of the major email providers came together to develop anti-spam technology, then consistent spam technology would be available across all email clients (and we would not be forced to choose email providers based on proprietary anti-spam services). However, based on this, it does not follow that if the big four developed anti-spam technology that it would be much more effective at blocking spam.
