it's easier to port from xbox 360 to WINDOWS. pc does not equal windows. is because the xbox360 uses the same directx api. all they have to do is recompile the game code to run on x86 instead of ppc which the xbox360 uses.
Complaining about patches on PS3? Get an Xbox360, patches are rarely bigger than 30MB on there. Just a friendly message from a guy that owns both systems.

@mignun15 Your cpu is fine, your video card is what needs to be changed. A gt 320 is used for multimedia stuff not gaming. Now you may be able to play some games but it would be on the lowest of settings and probably laggy even then. If you are lacking in money you can pick up a card for about $100 these days that would play just about any game on medium settings at the least.
@mignun15 Np. one thing I should have mentioned. Be sure your power supply meets the requirements of your new card. If not you may end up wasting a lot of money fixing it.

It's sad but forum quality seems tied to if it's free and what other restrictions there are. My favorite place is the forums of a Finnish game magazine. When you register, you have to enter your magazine subscription details and you post with your real name. So figuratively the forum access costs about 60€ and there's no anonymity. Moderation is also good. You can discuss pretty much anything as long as it doesn't degrade into a flame war.
The key to forums is to find small ones where everyone knows each other. I visit 3 forums, the largest of which has less than 30 people. It's similar to guilds and clans in that the larger ones are more impersonal, while the smaller ones are friendlier and typically of higher quality.

@MrMCNABS People with good PCs often have 12GB, me myself have 8GB. Yet everything now runs with 6 just fine. 4GB can get issues i think... its in the outgoing atleast

@ShadowLord32 Right now you don't unless your doing some major rendering which companies uses 5computers for. Yet that is what the high end computers have most of the time, that or 8. But as I said the games now run fine on 6GB and also on 4GB. Extra RAM ain't exactly trash so those with the money can easily get it.

@Mofalcolm334 Well think on this... The PS3 is considered outdated. Many patches for games and an OK online. There is rumored to be a new Xbox coming out this year and that will probably force Sony to release a new console. Now on the other hand, putting that money into a PC wont really go too far, but if you save you can get a good PC pretty soon seeing as prices for parts are going down. Personally I think you should sell the Xbox and just wait for a while. No need to rush.

Just heard this on The Giantbomb Cast and thought it applicable to a lot of your recent mailboxes. They argued that the PS3 was better than the 360 because of the number of red-rings. Does any console last as long as a PC? My last one has lasted (and still is) a decade and all I had to do was swap out the hdd after six years. Can a console ever compare to the longevity of a pc? Lets say a pc is 1,000 in all, and lasts 6 years. A console that lasts 2, counting price drops, is 1000+ by that point.
@AaronPM55 Although consoles are still more popular, PC gaming is always one step ahead. An average PC can dominate consoles in graphics, and as he has said in more recent videos, it is not hard to update a computer. Silly question, TB talks about this a lot.
Also while we're on the subject of gaming. How did SWTOR win MMO of the year? I do love the spoken quest dialog instead of reading text but really where's the content? There's not much to do end-game yet and the game just seems so slim with a real lack of UI customizations. Although you don't hear much about it anymore Rift had 10 times the content at launch that SWTOR has. There's your MMO game of the year folks. I won't even get started on the intentionally cartoon-ish graphics.

Honestly I can't see myself getting a next gen console unless they provide ports for a mouse and keyboard so I can actually play first person shooters on a console. If not I'm sticking with my PC exclusively. There may be titles that I enjoy playing that work best with a controller (car based combat games for example) but still I expect Microsoft and Sony (are Sega and Nintendo even in the gaming business anymore?) to give me a choice in how I want to play games on their systems.

Wait, so when a big technology leap comes for the consoles, and you need to upgrade, what do you do with a laptop? Can you replace graphics cards on a laptop? As far as I know, you can't. So does that mean you need a new PC?
I know that laptops don't work great for games, and I don't play games primarily on PC. I'm just curious...
@TheWatzitooya Unfortunately, not every laptop allow for GPU swapping, a good chunk of them (like 90%) are literally soldered directly to the main board, thus not swappable. Good laptops that allow for GPU and CPU swapping, are mostly in the higher end, that can be customized with parts you want before purchase, like the SAGER notebooks. Though after that you may run into issues such as insufficient cooling or power.
@TheWatzitooya The laptops work perfect for games. I mean the more expensive ones.. Plus they are compact and easy to transport. But the biggest flaw in my opinion is that yeah once new tech starts coming you can feel the laptop being worthless cause you cant just buy parts and upgrade it. I bought a high end laptop 2010 spring and I can feel the laptob starting to get way too old.

I think most will have to upgrade. The games are what get people to upgrade. There will be some game like Oblivion that pushes the graphics forward and requires upgrades or new computer to play at good fps.

People may like him for the reasons you hate him. Some people may hate him, but still like his music. @MrMCNABS People with good PCs often have 12GB, me myself have 8GB. Yet everything now runs with 6 just fine. 4GB can get issues i think... its in the outgoing atleast

@ShadowLord32 Right now you don't unless your doing some major rendering which companies uses 5computers for. Yet that is what the high end computers have most of the time, that or 8. But as I said the games now run fine on 6GB and also on 4GB. Extra RAM ain't exactly trash so those with the money can easily get it.

@Mofalcolm334 Well think on this... The PS3 is considered outdated. Many patches for games and an OK online. There is rumored to be a new Xbox coming out this year and that will probably force Sony to release a new console. Now on the other hand, putting that money into a PC wont really go too far, but if you save you can get a good PC pretty soon seeing as prices for parts are going down. Personally I think you should sell the Xbox and just wait for a while. No need to rush.

Just heard this on The Giantbomb Cast and thought it applicable to a lot of your recent mailboxes. They argued that the PS3 was better than the 360 because of the number of red-rings. Does any console last as long as a PC? My last one has lasted (and still is) a decade and all I had to do was swap out the hdd after six years. Can a console ever compare to the longevity of a pc? Lets say a pc is 1,000 in all, and lasts 6 years. A console that lasts 2, counting price drops, is 1000+ by that point.

@AaronPM55 Although consoles are still more popular, PC gaming is always one step ahead. An average PC can dominate consoles in graphics, and as he has said in more recent videos, it is not hard to update a computer. Silly question, TB talks about this a lot.

Also while we're on the subject of gaming. How did SWTOR win MMO of the year? I do love the spoken quest dialog instead of reading text but really where's the content? There's not much to do end-game yet and the game just seems so slim with a real lack of UI customizations. Although you don't hear much about it anymore Rift had 10 times the content at launch that SWTOR has. There's your MMO game of the year folks. I won't even get started on the intentionally cartoon-ish graphics.

Honestly I can't see myself getting a next gen console unless they provide ports for a mouse and keyboard so I can actually play first person shooters on a console. If not I'm sticking with my PC exclusively. There may be titles that I enjoy playing that work best with a controller (car based combat games for example) but still I expect Microsoft and Sony (are Sega and Nintendo even in the gaming business anymore?) to give me a choice in how I want to play games on their systems.

Wait, so when a big technology leap comes for the consoles, and you need to upgrade, what do you do with a laptop? Can you replace graphics cards on a laptop? As far as I know, you can't. So does that mean you need a new PC?
I know that laptops don't work great for games, and I don't play games primarily on PC. I'm just curious...

@TheWatzitooya Unfortunately, not every laptop allow for GPU swapping, a good chunk of them (like 90%) are literally soldered directly to the main board, thus not swappable. Good laptops that allow for GPU and CPU swapping, are mostly in the higher end, that can be customized with parts you want before purchase, like the SAGER notebooks. Though after that you may run into issues such as insufficient cooling or power.

@TheWatzitooya The laptops work perfect for games. I mean the more expensive ones.. Plus they are compact and easy to transport. But the biggest flaw in my opinion is that yeah once new tech starts coming you can feel the laptop being worthless cause you cant just buy parts and upgrade it. I bought a high end laptop 2010 spring and I can feel the laptob starting to get way too old.

I can absolutely see what TB is saying. There are many people now who believe that the way others speak and feel should be completely subjective to how they themselves act. Ever been trolled for saying 'excellent' or 'greetings' because "nobody says those things"? It is honestly quite annoying, but if one keeps a calm mind and remembers not to feed the troll, such situations can be easily deflected.

@bandanaboy98 Secret Sources says December 2012, launch of Xbox Loop (720), Sony has stated that they don't think they've used ps3's fullest potential yet, and could see couple of years more. BUT if Microsoft releases a new console, the other companies gotta release one as well to stay competitive.
We know 100% that Wii U will be shown at E3, so there is a slight possibility for some concepts from the giants to try snag some customers from Nintendo.

The port from Xbox to pc would be a lot easier, harder for ps due to it using special IBM memory which is a lot faster but never gets used to full potential

For instance the vast majority of people in my school play COD on console and think that it's the best game franchise ever. The morons can't comprehend PC gaming saying stuff like: 'Why would you want to play COD on a shitty screen when it could be on a TV?' :P At least here I'm in the company of the sane and free of fanboys.
