  • morrowind is faaar superior to oblivion... and with skyrim... hmm i can't decide... they are both good... but morrowind is a classic~ no fast travel, no quest markers, quest log actually in journal format....i remember playing morrowind GOTY for the first time and i was so sucked in to the world... i played oblivion first and then morrowind i liked morrowind so much better~

  • Doesn't he sound like CaptainSparklez?

  • @TheAntiParadox

Absolutely. This is the Holy Grail of Elder Scrolls Games! However, it's not for everyone. But since you've played Skyrim and Oblivion, you would like it.

  • ive played oblivion and skyrim. oblivion was ok and skyrim is AWESOME

i want something a little different to play for a while whilst i wait for a new pc, would you guys recommend morrowind?

  • @TheAntiParadox If you don't mind a clunky interface, shitty combat, awful dialogue and a terrible map then Morrowind is pretty decent. It has a great atmosphere and it's still quite pretty today. There are mods that make it prettier too.

  • in this vid i just sat there and staired at your eyes and i dont know why. i think it was because it looked like you were whereing a mask.

  • SKYRIM!!!!!!!!!!!

  • arthas in the backround :D :D

  • Captain sparklez with an accent :D

  • the guard walks like he just took an arrow to the knee...

sorry but i just had to say it!

  • @B0RNxC0NFUSED hahaha for some reason you made me fall of the chair

  • The guy at 4:02 sounds like Nazir of Dark brotherhood, i like the music its the same in skyrim too :D

  • @ladyjessica0529 Same voice actor, also played bourus (hope i spelled his name right :/) in oblivion

  • Dont be silly,Gix is for kids

  • you look like a pirate...

  • I love the graphics of old games there so funny and give you a warm feeling <3

  • BRETON IN SKYRIM SUCKS BIG DICK.

  • Wow, you sound a lot like captinsparklez. Anyway, nice video you seem to have a future in lping keep it up!

  • @HydroMudkip Gix made videos before sparklez made his channel.

  • I've only put 6-7 hours into Morrowind very recently, and honestly, it's much more challenging and immersive than Oblivion and Skyrim. As mentioned in a few comments, you actually have to go looking around for quest items/areas, and when you find them it's so satisfying :D In Oblivion and Skyrim, everything is waypointed. Magicka doesn't regenerate over time, fatigue drains when running and there's hit/miss chance, you really have to conserve your stats and upgrade them wisely.

  • hello internet and your watching a lets play video...lol i love that

  • Furthermore this is the game that kept me busy for 3 years straight so I'm not biased at all x) and I'm gettting back into it today. it is THAT epic!

  • ATTENTION To whoever is watching this for the first time... CONGRATULATIONS! You are about to embark on an epic journey into the most immersive and deep of ALL games with Gix as you personal tour guide. I started this journey two years ago and it has not yet been finished :)

  • can you buy morrowind for ps3?

  • @rustyduno no xbox classic and pc only

  • Gix please check out my LP, I suck..

  • @KentuckyKid220 *cough*attentionwhore*cough*

  • @shadowspike99 *cough* im not talking to you *cough*

  • the elder scrolls name ust got epicer and epicer

  • I hate basing games on their graphics but when there like this I just lose interest so much. If they would update the graphics and re release it, that may bring a lot of people to play it.

  • lawl. Morrowind is one of the greatest games in history, but the character models are some of the worst. :)

  • skyrim

  • Aaahhh, these videos got me through those long days of boredom.....

    Thanks :)

  • if you argue over video game music its time to play outside for awhile

  • Comment removed

  • Miss this.. gix is too absent these days :s

  • why do you have skyrim music playing at the start? or is it actually morrowind music that was remade for skyrim.. hmm..

  • @super6plx as in not the intro morrowind theme, but after that just as you're exiting the boat, it's definitely in skyrim, but it might just be a remastered version of an old song so I don't know

  • @super6plx The song was in both games.

  • @super6plx FUCK YOU! I am sorry I had to say that. You must be a late 90s kid, and I HATE when people call it the skyrim theme now

  • @Strikeer1019 actually I am a late 90s kid haha but that wasn't the reason, I didn't actually know bethesda reused MUSIC as well as their voice actors throughout every game, so I thought he might have put the skyrim music into the morrowind folder - which is something I've done before with morrowind -> oblivion

see it'd been so long since I played morrowind that I forgot that was morrowind music to begin with, that's all

what other games reuse exact music in their sequel's sequels?

  • @super6plx I see where you're coming from but...... you forgot morrowinds music :'(

  • @Strikeer1019 But Jeremy Soule made the Skyrim Theme out of his old Morrowind Theme... so I think you fucked yourself?

  • Hey everyone I know that this could be regarded as spamming but i have just uploaded my first 6 parts to my Morrowind Let's Play and need some feedback so i wonder if someone could or not? Thanks a bunch and sorry if you regard this as spamming!

    Ps Gix <3

  • @CasualGamer4 Actually, Skyrims Radiant Quest system allows for the generation of infinite quests.

  • im playing skyrim and im watching this

  • Major & Minor skills reminds me of DaggerFall. :D

  • the voice actors sound the same as from Oblivion

  • @IronMaiden6226 The dark elves totally sound the same as the ones in oblivion, right?

  • @HaioHaoi and the Redguards, they sound like Baurus from Oblivion

  • @IronMaiden6226 If you say so.

  • @TheNightridr OST means Original SoundTrack

  • for the first 3 seconds I thought the guy was steve buscemi

  • Do they use the same music in Skyrim and Morrowind? that's pretty neat if it really is :)

  • @OrkGold1 Many parts of the Skyrim OST, even parts of the main theme, are originally from Morrowind, which had one of the best OSTs of all

  • @Dostwyn what does OST mean? I'm guessing about soundtracks.

  • 7:53 Just a little loud. :)

  • Comment removed

  • You say oblivion funny

  • accent

  • @dakotaraypacker

There isn't a starting dungeon in skyrim, is there? Aha.

    I honestly can't remember now.

  • @soulite55 Dragon attacks, you go into a underground castle or something rather with a guy and fight your way out.

  • @Gkthepwner Oh okay, aha.

    I couldn't remember.

  • u sir are awesome i have seen lp's for this but not as good as u

  • dude i love your voice! its just so... i dont know calming i guess... you seem like a very relaxed person.

  • @XxSocialTechxX I really don't love his voice....he looks and sounds just like one of my heroin addicted crackhead friends that likes to talk constantly and won't ever listen to anyone because he's constantly f'n talking and unfortunately just with his face/beard alone he reminded exactly of him.. that's why I don't like people that juts one day decide to grab the whole beard and long hair persona

  • man Morrowind is so far the best TES there is, Oblivion was so bland compared to it, it's not worth mentioning and Skyrim is awesome and all, but it's too MMO style, everything is a quest and you track everything, in Morrowind you had to figure shit out by talking to people, rumors on the streets were rumors and not "here's a new quest", you couldn't start 100 quests and do them in their own time without scrolling through 100 pages of the journal. like Skyrim is epic, but it's just not the same

  • @mrsoultwister

i'll 100 % agree with you. I played 3 or 4 days Skyrim doing quests with no ideea what story it is. Seems to be a good loking game its not always a god game.

  • @mrsoultwister games aren't made to be the same, every game they advance something for the better, except cod, cods just shit.

  • @mrsoultwister If they re-made morrowwind (update graphics and sound) then I would agree with you somewhat but skyrim is much bigger (world size), has 800k missions (i heard), and 1 million times better graphics and sound. I can't wait for a skyrim downloadable content package that they will make.

  • @mrsoultwister That sounds pretty awesome to me. And even without playing Morrowind, I can agree that Oblivion was pretty bland.

  • @mrsoultwister

    Agreed.

    Morrowind > Oblivion > Skyrim.

Skyrim was epic for the first 100 hours or so, then it just diminished quickly.

  • @mrsoultwister Yea no doubt there man Morrowind is the best Elder Scrolls. Such a fun game even to this day I enjoy playing it.

  • @mrsoultwister Skyrim, like Oblivion, was consolized. That's why the default UI sucks and quests are extremely noob-friendly. If it was made for PC only, or at least if PC was the main platform, it would be even better.

  • This is THE ONLY TES game that you did not have to fight your way out of the starting dungeon(: fun fact, haha

  • @Spartan7801 Yeah, but in every game you're being held captive by some official force, including Skyrim.

  • it would be a lot more fun to watch this vid instead of staring at that guy the whole time. Lol

  • And what's wrong with his voice? I hate it when he says "Oblivion" like "Obwivilon" or "inventory" like "invenitry".

  • In Skyrim you don't start in prison, you start in a cart heading for your own execution, so it's a little different XD

  • I need help. I only played Oblivion, and I wanted to try out Morrowind so I bought it today. It seems impossible to find where you're going, please help!

  • @TheNautn

The good old days before fast traveling when ever you wanted and the game having to point out every where you had to go ^__^

Get familiar with looking at your map and just general investigation skills.

  • ohhh god, the amazingness of gix back when

  • Oh God, the nostalgia. After playing Skyrim I actually have a better appreciation for this awesome game than I did back in 2002.

  • Gix is so badass his videos don't have 480p.... but have 720p

  • Skyrim dragon!!! ...Nords are immune to frost and resist 70 or 75% shock... Also, thewisest attribute to augment is Luck...

  • @Blisterdude123 While Skyrim is fun... It went away from TES's functionnality (no attributes, no all items are pickable, Stamina instead of Fatigue, perks (we can't play without investing in some perks...lockpicking for exemple) no item decay,...)

  • Dude...drink some fucking water...your mouth makes me sick.

  • i really want to play this but does anybody know if morrowind will play on the 360 slim?

  • @xXFLAVORSXx idk but i'd get it on ur computer... theres a free download on the internet....look up a video...u can mod on the computer :D

  • @xXFLAVORSXx No, it won't.

  • 360p we meet again,oh wait game actually looks like this

  • i have this and press the escape key to skip the intro

  • nord barbarian

    no trouble at all :)

  • Awesome video

  • OBLIVYWANNNNNN!!!

  • Amazing game when it was released back in 2004, really brings me back. I'm looking forward to playing through it again with the graphical overhaul 2.0

  • @tacticalstation It was released in 2002

  • @tacticalstation 2004? 2002.

  • The enviroment and buildings and even some character faces are not that bad, its the bodies that look awful XD

  • stop it with the fucking arrow-to-the-knee jokes....

  • I used to make arrow to the knee jokes... then I stopped.

  • I used to dislike this game...then I took an arrow to the knee...a dark elf shot me...

  • PS2 graphics. *nostalga*

  • @TechUnadept Hey, MGS3 is on PS2 and it has better graphics than most current MMO's

  • Morrowind characters, even for the time, looked like total shit. Same goes for oblivion. They didn't get it right till Skyrim sadly.

  • yo adam how would you know he stays inside all the time? and you his gay stalker??

  • "dun dun dunn! *thunder*"

  • Go outside you freak

  • for thr first time ever in the elder scrolls series, in skyrim you findout why you are arrested.

    crossing the border

happens all the time down here in texas

  • @SkyrimPizza that's weird considering one of your character choices is a Nord, who are skyrim's native population, correct?

  • @SkyrimPizza Ha..

  • @SkyrimPizza ah but your not the same guy becase skyrim is ste 255 years in to the future

  • @SkyrimPizza yup and rolof sold bad drugs to every one, the thief stole a horse to have sex with it.and ulfric was a sexual deviant

  • you have some badass facial hair

  • if you havent heard of morrowind: go back under your rock!

if you have heard of morrowind and are still playing it: GET SKYRIM YOU FOOL

  • Haha , really good video, liked the camera in the bottom, really improved it, but i really liked the way you hesitated to say that people said oblivion sucks during the class part

  • This is interesting because I played Morrowind religiously when it first came out and I have been playing every game since, but my problem is that when i played it there was no voice acting everything was text that you had to read through yet this version has dialogue weird.

  • @JoshKeyShow Actually this intro, along with a select few other things in the game, does feature voice acting. But as you said, it's probably more than 99% text. :)

  • awesome you noticed the same voice actor!

whatever, i really like the way how the game has "Neutral" graphics.

  • hey i have a question, i have bought a new laptop this past summer. Do you know if this game will run with little lag time or is it a big memory game?

  • @JRcraftMC If you can run Oblivion or Skyrim (even on lowest settings) you can play Morrowind easily.

  • I LOVE YOUR ACCENT

  • why are you showing your face?

  • @ZyncheStrikesBack Because he can! >:D

  • never played morrowind until today, first five minutes got immediately lost, commited a felony because i have no idea how sneaking works in there, and found my dead corpse between 3 kwama warriors and i forgot to save sometime between the beginning of the game and time of death. will i go back and try again? probably...

  • Morrowind is a game that needs to be visited twice. First time I played it, like all new age late gamers, I WTF'd and went back to Oblivion. Then a little later on, I thought about it a little, started again. And my mind, it was blown. My favourite elder scrolls to date.

  • i enjoy your LPs a lot and the mic your recording with is amazingly clear in sound :)

  • How about a drinking game for this LP? Call the ambulance now, by the time it arrives you will be in a coma! Take a shot every time he:

    - makes a reference to Oblivion

    - compares this game to Oblivion

    - ignores something because he knows how it works in Oblivion

    - tries to play this game like it is Oblivion

    - gets confused/stuck because playing this game as if it was Oblivion doesn't work

    - gets confused/stuck because he misreads the one necessary piece of information

  • @sms1bum At least he's actually giving the game a shot, you know.

  • Dude.. Your eye scares me out

  • I love how the music is basically the same for Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim <3

  • why do people say bad things about skyrim?...i think its awesome that they made it..it means they haven't given up on elder scrolls(my favorite game series)....and btw...its just as fun as oblivion...but the spells aren't as interesting as oblivion...

  • @JavaSpitLava Honestly, I thought the spells were really dull in Oblivion. Every fire spell is just the same ball, only a bit stronger.

  • @TheSandvichTrials there are different fire spells...but its not all about destruction magic...in oblivion you can make people naked from spells, through objects into peoples face, steal things from the opposite end of the room...turn monsters into other monsters..make people drop from the sky, you can make necklaces that hurt the person who wears it, put it in someones pocket and then they blow up...i mean come on, im level 23 in skyrim atm and haven't seen a single thing like that yet..

  • @JavaSpitLava Make people naked from spells sounds like Moddy moddy, though. I've also never been able to kill someone by throwing stuff in someones face as far as I know, make people drop from the sky? What are you talking about? The necklace thing is cool, though. Also turning monsters into other monsters is using the Wabbajack, and that's in Skyrim.

  • @TheSandvichTrials nope, all of it is in oblivion, except the wabbajack..i just dont think i've stumbled across it yet in skyrim...there is a deadric mission where he gives you a spell to go to a castle party and turn everyone naked...telekenesis lets you throw stuff and steal from far away...if you put a black soul gem into an enchantment on a weapon, you can make it powerful enough to make everyone in the imperial city fall from the sky...i've done it..

  • @JavaSpitLava Ok, I guess I haven't played Oblivion enough as a mage to find out too much stuff about it. I'm always a thief-y rouge guy.

  • @TheSandvichTrials me too bro either that or all out warrior

  • @TheSandvichTrials yea, in every RPG i play...i always start off with a sneaky bow and arrow guy...especially in games like elder scrolls...you stay safe and get to see everything in the game without running past it because your sneaking around enemies through paths ways ect....one time in oblivion i had an alchemy mage, made a potion that gave me 12 health recovery for 120 seconds + 20% shield + it stacks, and did the multiplication chest in the mage tower and was pretty much invincible...

  • @JavaSpitLava pretty nice strategy...I think I'll give it a try too :D

Right now I use Illusion chameleon 75% + Ring of Kajiit :D also pretty invincible :P

  • @sorinz87 thats like 100% invisibility right?....almost over kill. if your a master at sneak...then your just an asshole lol...

  • I remember the first time I played this when it came out. My prior RPG experiences were limited to Final Fantasy or Diablo type games, so I was expecting something along those lines. The game repeatedly blew my mind. I giggled hysterically when I accidentally stole a napkin and the NPCs all drew their weapons and killed me over it. I spent a ridiculous amount of time doing nothing but dink around, as I was so unused to any level of freedom. Ah, so many good times. Thanks for the reminder!

  • lol no offence but... you look like a stoner

  • @jhuytrede And you, sir, type like one. (offense*) All in good humour, though.

  • @frankjuuh Who really cares

  • @J0SlAH You're right. All is irrelevant.

  • @frankjuuh Fuck up, faggot.

  • @42overPi Wow, that was uncalled for and grammatically confusing. Why are you mad, though?

  • @frankjuuh It's called a fragmented sentence. A perfectly acceptable and, in your case, exemplar form of quality grammar. One you should appreciate.

I'm not mad, I just hate people like you. So fuck you.

    "grammatically confusing"

I'm sorry. I didn't know you suffered from some sort of mental retardation (explaining your inability to read despite your ability to spell). You probably can't even read this message now. I truly feel bad for insulting a retard such as yourself. I really am sorry.

  • @42overPi You're quick to judge people, if you can, after reading three comments of mine, already determine what kind of person I am.

Yes, I must be some kind of retard for not knowing what a 'fragmented sentence' is. The thing is, you see, that I've never had any proper English lessons in school, because I don't reside in a country where English is the native language. Thanks for pointing it out, though.

And, of course, kudos to you for having paid attention during grammar lessons.

    Adieu.

  • @frankjuuh On the contrary, imbecile, I have not judged you besides me calling you an imbecile now and, actually, four comments is all that I need to make an accurate judgement over you.

This is an example of chaos theory and circular logic (much to how (quite possible your) Religion is explained). I hate you because I hate you. I have no reason to hate you. I just hate you. Fuck you. Fuck your fucking face you fucking shit cunt fucker.

  • @42overPi Haha, your life must be great. By the way, no, I'm not religious (way to judge me, shit-for-brains!) Anyway, have fun with your pointless ranting at people you don't know, and constantly telling them how much you hate them, because you are supposedly 'superior' on the intellectual plane.

Frankly, I don't care much for this idiotic argument anymore.

    Much love

  • @frankjuuh Let me assure you that I am far superior to you in every way, shape and form conceivably possible. I actually feel sorry for you. You are pathetic. I have a great life. I work a great job. I'll soon go to a great university that matches my far superior intellect in comparison to you.

Just so we're clear on how unbelievably stupid you are, let's look at your comment. You say that I judged you. I said "possibly" (org. typo) to your religion, POSSIBLY is not judging shit-for-brains.

  • @42overPi Be my guest. Keep investing energy in something that won't have any effect on anyone whatsoever. Also, "I just hate people like you" sounds, to me, like you've made up a judgment about me.

I hope you realize, though, that being a potty mouth and not being able to back up your arguments without sounding like a deranged moron with a bad temper, doesn't contribute to your credibility as an intellectually 'superior' individual. Also, you may want to check your punctuation, genius.

  • @frankjuuh The fact that you would relate the choice of words directed at pathetic losers such as yourself to one's own intellect is uncanny. Sorry about that "I hate people like you" comment, 'twas just a generic insult with no thought for "people like you".

I notice that you take into consideration the minuscule amount of energy expenditure required in writing a comment on youtube leading me to believe that you, sir, are one voluptuous individual. ;/

    Punctuation?

  • @42overPi Yes, punctuation. I refer you to the last sentence of one of your earlier comments. Don't beat yourself up over it, though. Not everyone can have a keen eye for the correct use of punctuation.

Now, is there any point that you are trying to make, or are you just going to drive yourself further into disgrace by repeatedly stating, basically, the same allegation, with no factual information to make yourself even remotely credible?

  • @frankjuuh By questioning your snotty remark, it is implied that I would like you tell me what was not correct instead of trying, a truly sad and petty attempt, to insult me. Don't beat yourself up over it. Not everyone can comprehend fundamental English language and communication skills.

No. I'm content with you making further the fool of yourself. So go ahead, reply again. I am very much enjoying revelling in the depth of the pit you are digging for yourself.

    Splendiferous vocabulary, sir.

  • @42overPi So you're saying that you don't even know why you're replying anymore? Also, I reckoned a genius, like you, would've figured out what was not correct all by yourself. Apparently, you are not the wunderkind you claim to be, if you need me, an intellectually inferior individual, to point out your mistakes.

To be honest, I find it adorable that you're still attempting to hurt my feelings. Dance some more for me, monkey. I'm finding it to become more laughable with each comment.

  • @frankjuuh AHAHAHA. Keep going, please, you're hilarious. You've got to be the stupidest person I have EVER had the misfortune to meet.

  • @42overPi Yeah, you keep telling yourself that, buddy. Whatever makes you feel good about your pathetic self.

  • @frankjuuh Okay, I get it. I'm being trolled. Nobody can be THAT stupid. The jokes on me, right?

  • Morrowing was released in that strange era where graphics weren't bad, but they also weren't good

  • @markMills00 Basically when PS2 and Gamecubes were becoming middle-aged in the wake of the Next Gens

  • @markMills00 yeah the golden middle ^^

  • Is this game any good?

  • @xboxteacher It's arguably THE best elder scrolls made. (story wise at least, it obviously can't compare graphics wise)

  • guess what. skyrim.

  • @ShadeyGuy48 Guess what: aside from graphics and core elements, the story of Morrowind was the best.
