Yup, there are a lot of these in my country,

but not over the whole road, only on the edges, so if someone slips out of his track just a little bit he is going to hear that buzzing noise. I've acctually never heard they can play a tune with those groves. But that's not for fun and games, its here to make people safe.

no those are bumps that make your car chake so that less accident happen due to falling asleep on the whell but these kinds of grooves are made so the entire road is like a xylopnone and when you roll on it the sound is heard but it isnt enough to wake you up...lol

Actually, the grooves were added as a way of alerting drivers to a part of the road where there are often accidents, either due to speeding or people falling asleep. It works too. Check you facts before you rush to condemn next time.
