  • 3:24 Most Annoying Bite Ever

  • rofl at the cake!

  • it's too annoying not figuring out what's going on hahaha

  • sounds annoying, lol, if I were a foreigner who didn't understand English I'd get tired of hearing it very quickly.

  • Magaloam on shit!

  • I've always wondered what English sounds like to people who don't speak the language.. So odd...

  • 1:05 Can't beat that whore, Elton John. lolwut?

  • Many of you just don't get it. When you understand a language, especially if you've grown up with it - you don't know what it's like to just "hear" it.

When I was younger I couldn't understand french... and I could enjoy this beautiful melody of sounds when someone spoke. Now, however, it is encumbered with the understanding of what the person is actually saying, which dilutes the pure pleasure of just hearing the sound.

This allows native English speakers to hear what english "sounds" like.

  • @rsherfan so true..

  • ... I'M SO DAMN CONFUSED! *goes crosseyed*

  • So apparently English to non-English speakers sounds echoed and like music for the most part.

  • @Blindsushi @SolarRopes The song is 'Cherche la Rose' (1962) by Marlene Dietrich (arranged by Burt Bacharach). Another version of 'Skwerl' includes a song called 'Homage à Marlene' by Kyls Burtland, which sounds inspired by the aforementioned tune. I assume the copyright holders must have noticed 'Cherche la Rose' prompting a new song. You'll soon realize how integral 'Cherche la Rose' was to the short (especially editing) and it's haunting absence if you hunt this version of 'Skwerl' down.

  • great. I thought the vid was inspired and brilliantly conceived and executed and funny too. Then i read the comments.funnier still. ha. Is it the internet which is making people stupid or was it ever so? uh, silly question?

  • anyone knows what the argument was about?

  • That girls a really good actress

  • for a few minutes i actually thought i could understand some o f it.

  • you shud come to walsall...u can be english and still have no clue as to what yam yams are sayin'

  • now for the rest of this month i'm gonna waste my time trying to figure out what they were talking about...damn it

  • Capoeira whore Elton John. 1:06

  • This is brilliant

  • These actors are good. You want to know why I said that?

Because they managed say all that with a straight face.

  • whoa sparklers look cool out of focus...

  • blind for me spray the pope for cream?! WHAT IN FRESH HECK...

  • It sounds like they used an online translation service to translate English text to another language (I suppose any would do), but then used that text to translate back to English. The reason it sounds so off, yet we understand certain words/phrases, is because no language is parallel to another. While there will be overlap from an exact translation to a grammatically-correct translation, the degree of overlap will vary depending on the languages you choose.

  • The words are not completely random, that would be better to describe what english sounds like to non speakers.

  • 1:10 "did you flat by the lump lack call??"

  • Exactly what English sounds to me when i'm not paying enough attention. Familiar word here and there, no freaking idea of the context.

  • "chad a long way from the rainbow seasonal" dude i know!!!

  • this doesn't sound like english, it sounds like american.

  • that damn magbaleen nation. and elton jhon.

  • Some of the things i heard:

rachachismol, rainbow seasonal, Elton John, magalon my shit, you fucking arsehole, we rapacate reptiles.....

  • @eiyjafjallajokull i heard that and "i chose ferina" (or however you spell that lol)

  • random

  • It really sounds like English!

  • Fake English French

  • Sneep, rumplewinks bloo wompstruckle?

  • i heard Elton John in there somewhere...

  • My family members in Greece thought this was real English, hahaha omg I was dying. xD

I'm so glad my dad moved to America before I was born

  • They say real words though. And some of the phrases use our grammatical structure, such as using the word "Why" when beginning some questions or "You wanna get". BOOOOO. For real fake english, try this youtube video "fake english french"

  • @trinithis1 Fake English does include real words though, sporadically. Like any language imitation...

  • So yeah, Sims 4 has pretty good graphics

  • @AdamBMorris HAHAHA!

  • Is it possible to get a copy of the script?

  • thumbs up if you came here from reddit?

  • Prisecolinensinenciousol

  • So i went down and washed it today.

Cant beleive that was more than that.

Did you ever return that call?

Yeah funny that you mention it

  • 1:34 porn and sex

  • Turn CC on... hilarious! :D

  • hahahhahah 1:37 expansion masturbation sixties hahahahhahahha

And the worst english is french people english because they don't pronounce H's

  • Cool idea, altough they do slip a couple of real words/phrases. At 2:55 she says "you fucking asshole" much too clearly to be a coincidence.

  • @rodrigoavga They have to put some well known English words and whatnot to make it sound like to someone who doesn't speak English that the characters are speaking English.

  • @rodrigoavga

Because most people probably know the English swear words, and stuff like "You", right?

  • At 2:19 the white boy says... "Nigga stole my bike"

  • I suposse you have to be english speaker to understand that this is fake english, because to me it sounds like real english, indeed i think i´ve heard some common words

  • This is what english sounds like to non-english speakers (and to english students)

  • I understand them, but I have no idea what they're talking about.

  • I WAS YELLING AT THIS!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!? IS THIS WHAT ENGLISH SOUNDS LIKE TO NON-ENGLISH SPEAKERS?!?!?!!?

  • @cp911s Yes, it is :-D

  • @cp911s Yes.

  • This is what Dutch sounds like to me.

  • What everyone sounds like when you're not really paying attention.

  • Nobody's ever given me sparklers on a pineapple for my birthday :(

  • so this is what portuguese sounds like for spanish speakers, or norwegian sounds like for swedish speakers... you can understand about half, and the rest, you must use your imagination, at last, we finally understand as english speakers

  • @mjbanka17 Not really, as a Spanish speaker I can understand Portuguese, Italian among other latin languages even without having studied before (if they don't speak too fast, of course). No idea about norwegian and swedish speakers, I guess it's almost the same.

  • @CenoByte I'm living in Italy and in 4 months do not speak or understand Italian 100% yet

  • @mjbanka17 btw, for Spanish speakers maybe it happens with the Greek language. Greek has almost the same pronunciation like Spanish (European Spanish), but I can't understand anything about it. Totally mind fuck XD

  • @CenoByte its true, greek pronunciation its similiar than european spanish, but its imposible understand one word

  • If you just kind of listen to what they're saying and not focus on every word, then it actually sounds legit... if that makes sense lol.

  • I'm partially deaf in my left ear, and amazing this is how people actually sound some times. I was getting really frustrated with this video! haha

  • He looks like Joel McHale...

  • thats exactly what every movie sounded like to me before i spent a few months in the US...

  • 1:26 - "Maggalon my shit" hahahahhahah wtf lol.

  • The guy sounds like an Australian in America, and the woman started out sounding Nordic, and then French, and a generic Euro accent. Is it supposed to be fake English with real English words and completely scrambled accents?

  • LOL, good. Sounds very American, but did anyone else notice that she uses the European dining style rather than the American? Watch the fork. She needs to read her Emily Post to get it right.

  • ...so that's how I sound like somewhat, intresting...

I always thought English would sound a bit more ridiculous and less like french to others. :S

  • At first I wondered why I couldn't understand what they were saying...

  • Reminds me of the sims

  • @erectvagina sii actuga mor wa...se glarba itchnor...choagaa choo choo

  • wow! English sounds nice!

  • Wait........what?

  • Click CC twice then select transcribe audio. It really helps :P

  • THIS HURTS MY HEAD SO MUCH!!!!!

  • "Magma loan my shit."

  • what kind of american is that iv watched it four times and im stumped .. id like to see a bit of script before i be leave. or is it just whole pile of niche slang ???

  • @TheDonhwan haha don't sweat it. It isn't real English. Judging by your channel it looks like you're trying to learn english but this video definitely isn't going to help you. Some of the words in here are real english but the words are mixed up and don't make any sense. English is my native language and this doesn't make a bit of sense to me and I don't think it makes sense to anyone else. And no, it's not some form of slang. ;)

  • I love when she comes out in a party hat with sparklers on some pineapple and just says "you fucking asshole" haha

  • Magalow my shit! Hahahaha.

  • Does that guy not look like Dustin Pedroia?

  • it started to sound like dutch a little hahahahaha

  • Is the guy's last line at 2:56 "I'm gonna call a touche?" Or is it just supposed to be gibberish?

  • language is a virus from outer space

  • This is just frustrating to watch. Haha!

  • did anyone else catch "he's a real boner face" at 1:05

  • This is worse then listening to two Cockneys argue. Apologies to my English mates.

  • This isn't what American English 'probably' sounds like to foreigners who don't speak the language, this is EXACTLY how it sounds to non-English speakers.

  • GUY "Heres lace...Hovmav alota that" GIRL "Shore" "I bought you like thyen roden eggen pordenation." GUY " hu hounds good! Sa rida yawksin onda wash today." GIRL "O?" GUY "Yeah..uh doles uhreal wonerfaze. Can bareve dat morry Elton John. Jew fryby da lubaikal? GIRL "Yah I com by lektring. I bled dat pry baiadeum by the wrong frontline today." Guy "Oh that raisy men with a esh marine. Tufra meeny gree that treesh." GIRL "No prastation is trap! I meen..Why the cres soilder for tha magbaleen...

  • It would have been better if you didn't put swear words in it... :)

  • Literally watched this 3 times trying to figure out what they were saying before I read the "Fake English" part of the title.

  • they sound more canadian to me

  • @neomp5 but canadians sound the same as americans lol

  • It sounds more like Irish. But I'm from Texas and we don't talk like these "people"

  • Comment removed

  • @austinjmadruga i know being a grammar nazi here but their called quotes (these are parentheses)

  • @cicifire345 i try to talk trash and end up looking like a retard. haha, thanks for catching that.

  • @berndiggydiggy So the Irish are not "people"? Typical ignorant dumbass Texan who thinks they're better than everyone. No wonder you're considered the inbred dumbfucks of the world.

  • @TGJEEVAS Actually, I think by putting "people" in quotations, he was referring the people in the film. And if he is in fact from Texas that would make sense.. "typical" American English is QUITE different from southern American English. But in any case, arrogance is no better than ignorance.

  • @berndiggydiggy Are others not from Texas, not people?

  • a lot of "een" sounds, more than there should be i think

  • As an American, it has always sounded to me like the American English accent is very bland and boring.

  • Gotta watch out for that rape underface.

  • Turn on the CC captions and laugh your ass off.

  • @crvernon We filmed it on a Canon 550D, 50mm, and lit it with a KinoFlo and a softboxed Dedo.

  • @brinskikarl Thanks. What size was the KinoFlo? Was it the 201?

  • @crvernon - Not sure, sorry! We made this last June, I can't remember what we hired.

  • @brinskikarl is this supposed to capture english? or specifically american english?

  • 1:38 "Shit out a car!"

  • so we ran king crap around?!

  • that's how I used to talk before learning english, when I was a kid watching movies all the time.. lol

  • Was the insertion of a few real English words, to emphasize foreigners picking up on a few words, or were they meant to mean something completely different?

  • @shadowoc91 I'm pretty sure they're almost all real words. They're just placed in a nonsensical order so that we can't form thoughts by them. But since they're real words, they of course sound like American English because that's how we say them.

  • 1:09, I totally thought he said, "Did you stop by the long, black, cock?"

  • LOLOL Not gonna lie, for the first minute I kept listening going "what are they saying" then I bothered to look at the title. DX
