I live in Northern Ireland and am a 'born again believer having trusted Christ over 35 years ago I love the old time gospel hymns, and this is a great recording.
I believe this hymn was first recorded by William MacEwan a Glaswegian in November 1911 when he persuaded the Columbia Reela Company of London & New York to allow him to record When They Ring Those Golden Bells together with 23 other Gospel Songs. These were recorded on soft wax and when it was electroplated & stamped out on course shellac it made a high pitched screeching sound.
So much for the first recording; since then it has been recorded by 100s if not 1000s of times of which I have heard many. I believe that brother Leon Benefield sings it beautifully from the heart. I trust that this recording will touch the hearts of many & will be an encouragement to the Saints and arrest Sinners to trust Christ as Lord and Saviour and when the Bells Ring as indeed they will for each one of us, that we will be ready when the Saviour comes or calls
Brother, God bless your sould brother for singing this powerful testimony of a song. And thank you for sharing it with the rest of the world. I LOVE IT!!! I WAS BLESSED!!! One day I will sing it!
Amen can't wait to meet him in Heaven
Have a blessed day and thanks for sharing
