  • "Oceania was at war with Eurasia; therefore Oceania had always been at war with Eurasia."

  • True conservatism is libertarianism.

Ron Paul 2012: Stop the neocons!

  • whats wrong with you people instead of talking about the philosophical constructs of what Strauss did you dwell on sentimentalist religious drivle. This man was e dangerous then Hitler

  • Lawns reference N. European (usu protestant) folkways--- having "external" defenses--fences. Newcomers are more "cut-off" no lovely yards, the personal defenses are internal, like lying, dishonesty, to "get along." Also, a reference to paganism (where nature is important), as opposed to ppl in cities (nyc is only 4% founding stock of wasps) nyc has no yards, no personal care for nature, no reference to past culture of farming, growing, creativity (why wasps country was "innovative" culture)

  • maybe all b/c of millions of catholics & jews who came on u.s. around 1900. Some say those religions instill guilt or fear; "catholic right' was associated with fascism (militarist-corporatism of mussolini, franco, hitler, etc) while "jewish left" w/ communism (trotsky, marx, etc.). The catholics right use fear, the jewish left guilt/shame. But founders of u.s. were protestants & the constitution a reflection of their de-centralized folkways, rooted in goodness; th others didn't "get it."

  • Adam Curtis is one of the best doc. makers out there. Check out his blog on the BBC website- really good stuff

  • what is the @1:00 ??

  • what is the song @1.00

  • This documentary explained exactly why the media airs mtv more than it does these documentaries. imagine just even 50% of the U.S poulation watching this documentary. goodbye politic lies. the power of knowledge is so strong yet taken for granted by so many.

  • Less than 1 minute in and I'm already scared. I probably shouldn't watch horror films lol.

  • I LOVE this documentary, i think it has to be the best documentary i have ever seen.

  • Seriously....do we need anymore proof that neo-con is a cover-word for fascist? I don't think so.

  • I'm going to force people to watch this at gunpoint! It's that important! lol

  • The greatest danger in the world is 'international terrorism' carried out, not by Islamic 'extremists', but by NATO/America/Israel. Any 'respectable' person that does not tell you the bad guys are white, is not worthy of attention. America has secretly used tactical nuclear weapons in Iraq. The BBC is a Zionist front. Ideological, western politicians are scum. Malcolm X was right.

  • Even when an EXTREMELY well put together and eloquent program like this is actually aired....

"no one seems to notice, no one seems to care" - George Carlin

  • This is one of the most important videos on Youtube, yet it only has ~100,00 views; while Justin Bieber's new video has over 1million.

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Also, what's up with the giant black baby at 2:07?

  • Everything the neo-con said about our society is true and is still true today. As a nation, we are completely corrupt and degenerate. Americans are the most self-absorbed people on the planet.

  • @blurryshiny lol...you're probably working for the CIA, eh. Americans are good people, and we don't need lies and myths told to us by psychopaths in order to "help" us. What a load of shit!

  • @tstruss912 People are sinful because they have a fallen nature. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. This is a fallen world which has rebelled against God, but God was merciful and sent us a savior, and His name is Jesus Christ. It is through Jesus that we are forgiven for our sins, and reconciled to God. He gives us eternal life through His Son, who took the punishment for our crimes in our place. Place your trust in Jesus and He will save you and give you eternal life

  • @blurryshiny I don't want eternal life. Jesus was a good guy, but he's gone now. So he can't help those who are evil--in some cases nothing can since they're psychopaths.

  • @tstruss912 Jesus is alive and well, and sitting at the right hand of the power of God. He is not just a good man, He is God. It also isn't a question of helping who is evil, because we have all sinned and fallen short. We all need His help because we will all face judgement for our sins, But because God is merciful, He gave us a pardon through His Son. You will face God one day, and tomorrow isn't guaranteed to anyone. You need to be reconciled with God through His Son Jesus Christ.

  • @blurryshiny blah blah blah 2000 year old cult figure not too different from L. Ron Hubbard blah blah, new jack religion bs. blah blah God. /Brainwash.

  • @RadAlarm God has given you sufficient evidence that He exists. You are suppressing the truth in unrighteousness.

  • @blurryshiny

    what evidence

    a bible?

    r u fucking crazy

  • @AlienFirefox The bible is the word of God. It is the absolute truth about what has happened before, what is happening now, and what will happen in the future. Within it are the words that lead to eternal life. You can trust in the bible, and more than that, you can trust in Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life.

  • @blurryshiny

the bible is a book a novel theres no evidence to prove otherwise othe than faith.

  • 3:47

THIS IS OBAMAS AMERICA, PEOPLE SEE IT AS A GOLDEN ERA.

TALKS CENTERED ON MOVIE STARS, AUTOMOBILE GAS PRICES.

PEOPLE SPENT ALOT OF TIME ON FACEBOOK, TALKING ON THEIR iPHONES, LOST IN THE TELEVISION.

THEY SPEND LOTS OF TIME DOING DRUGS, THEY LUST FOR MATERIAL GOODS.

THEY TALK ABOUT HOW THE DJ PLAYED ONE OF THE HITS OF THE DAY, SKRILLEX. PEOPLE STARTED SHUFFLING AND GIVING LIGHT SHOWS. THE HALL IS FULL OF SEX AND DRUGS.

    TRAGIC LOST SOULS.

    hmmmmmmm... things never change.

  • @RATAPWNZU Typing in all caps makes you comment look like something from a crazy-man. So most people will just ignore it. Something to keep in mind.

Wait...Did you blame facebook on Obama?

  • @Cha4k what? no.

do you not see how we just move in circles over and over throughout the years? shit never changes.

  • There isn't a "both sides" dumbass. There's ONE SIDE. and the agenda is control of your ideas. Fucking grow up already.

  • Interesting...the music playing under the opening is from John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness movie soundtrack.

  • Coming from the same organization (the BBC) that is controlled by the exact people they are warning us of ,

The physops involved in all of this has to be derived with intelligence from another planet,, lol

  • @visionfirst1970 Adam Curtis is actually very subversive. Sometimes even the BBC can show moments of truth.

  • i love this documentary

  • who searched up the power of six but go this instead

  • So the neo-conservative and radical Islamist movements were founded at roughly the same time with the same anti-liberal ideals and instead of fighting liberals, they ended up fighting each other while liberals have protested the wars all along? That's fucking hilarious.

  • on the title- when I was 10ish I was having nightmares a lot. I then figured if I thought of the scariest thing right before I slept that my nightmares could not compare. It worked. I objectified fear.

  • "The liberal society, contained the seeds of its own destruction!" Sounds awfully prophecizing doesn't it?

I for 1 don't believe in prophecies...only men who would carry them out if they had the chance.

  • i watch this every now and then just to remind me there is some one is keeping an eye on things.

  • this is very educational. what losers they did not like 1940's america....but thanks I have learned a bit of us history I did not know.

  • A friend of mine from Morocco said to me years ago: "Same people, different uniforms.' It's true! Has anyone heard that Qutb also suffered from racism here and that was part of the picture?

  • It's too bad Strauss was so twisted and cynical, if he had been more like Frank Herbert and promoted the ideal that the US needed a Noble Purpose: to work for the peace and prosperity of all mankind I wonder what kind of leadership we'd have, instead of these horribly destructive neocons.

  • 04:43 If only Qutb had lost his virginity or found love (to put it more romantically) at the dance, history might have been different and less bloody.

  • Comment removed

  • Joe Rogan did not send anyone here. Neal Brennan did. thumbs up if u you liked this because of Neal sent you here

  • Joe Rogan sends his regards.

  • 7:57...THE ASSASSIN'S CREED!

  • 7:57...THE ASSASSIN'S CREED!

  • The UN has $4 for every person in the world for development and good governance. Meanwhile $216 per person is spent on arms.

You're more likely to die of cancer or obesity-related illness than any terrorist activity. Citizens and statesmen need to think about this.

  • Oh god. It`s another round of anti-american "The muslims will save us from evil" crap,

  • @Nonamed22 did you watch it?

  • @Nonamed22

are you kidding me? It's the americans who are responsible for our volatile world. anyone saying others is caught up in the bubble of delusion and ignorance. fuck you. die already.

  • @nem700 Your primitive, highly aggresiv "Kill all who do not agree with me" comment clearly shows that not Americans, russians, muslims, etc. are the problem, but intolerant "I am right and all who do not agree must die" people like you are the only problem.

You will probably reply with another flaming, hatefilled comment and prove me right. I will not.

Your reactions are predictable and thus boring.

    *Yawn*

  • @Nonamed22 Actually, if you watch it, I don't think that's the message at all, in this part its describing what CUTTEB (sp?) thought of American society, and how he based his ideology on that, but so often these ideologies become distorted.

Curtis's common are how people have been governed based on certain ideas about the human condition, ideas that have often been wrong. Thats what this is really about, not bashing America. Watch Century of the Self, you'll see what I mean.

  • As soon as the narrator said that the perputrators of 9/11 were influenced by the idea's of the Arab Sayed Kotb, I knew that video had no historical value.

  • @Invesigator I heard the name for the first name, can u tell me who or how was it??

  • @prezidentification Most informed people know by now that 9/11 was not carried out by Osama, arabs or Muslims. 9/11 was carried out by Israel's MOSSAD to forment war with the atheist/racist West and the Muslim world. Zionists in America and Israel wanted to frame Muslims for 9/11 so that the latter could suffer a catastrophical military backlash. They succeeded with this. Any historical document that claims that 9/11 was done by Muslims and not MOSSAD/CIA should be DISMISSED.

  • Long live Pakistan's nuclear stockpiles. To hell with the security of the West and ZIonists.

  • thumbs up if you came here because you like the intro.

  • That's fine..until- because you were staring at rainbows while the highly motivated bad men carried out their objectives...you lose everything you were unwilling to fight for....As you practice "positivity"--some innocent shmuck in one of Gitmo's many dungeons is being urinated on by American thugs....Is that your fault?...no Mr. Butterfly chaser...I don't suppose it is...but I might be wrong about that.

  • I live with no television. I keep up to date with the "news" but I don't dwell and I don't buy into bull shit scare tactic's. I don't buy a newspaper. I have changed my focus to looking at the good in life and in people. My life is much richer for this move. Focus on peace and love, starting with loving yourself... if you dare!

Peace and love to all, everywhere.

  • @sallyjeangenie Did the same thing myself 4 years ago - I feel much less manipulated now.

  • @sallyjeangenie yes wouldn't it be grate if we could all he happy with what good we have already have, we'd all die in our own filth but...still

  • @sallyjeangenie you might want to get rid of the laptop also. seems like your still getting a fix looking up conspiracy theory videos.

  • @BlackJ250

This isn't a conspircy theory in any way. This is the ugly accidental truth.

  • Scoring your ideas to ominous music doesn't make me a mindless monster. The "Golden Age" of American is comparable to any culture in the history of the world. While far from being perfect, who else's golden age is anywhere close to America's? F*ck Yeah! At least we don't mutilate our women through state sponsorship. Tell us how terrible America is but don't talk about how imperfect your country or culture is.

  • @weezyheezy Victorian Britain

  • @weezyheezy american culture is comparable to western european, canadian or australian culture except we all have universal healthcare (and our healthcare is ranked better than yours), we keep religion to the private sphere where it belongs, we're not gun nuts (and our violent crime levels are a fraction of americas), our Gini index is better than yours, our public education is better than yours. During your "golden age" there are dozens of countries way ahead of you in terms of quality of life.

  • @weezyheezy: you sound like the idiot American who told me the U.S invented democracy!!! Golden age? Mmmm, let's see...how about the Ancient Egyptians, the Ancient Greeks (the true inventors of democracy @ 500BC, the Roman Empires just for starters. You might find they dwarf America's golden age in terms of length and depth...sorry to let the air out of your balloon!

  • You sound like a dirty commie.

  • Virtually nothing in this is true besides that Al Qaeda isn't real.

  • Whoever scares you the most, can control you best. Just look at Glen Beck...

  • A truly enlightening documentary. Thank You.

  • "Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." - Daniel Webster

  • brian eno *_*

  • I think he means the Golden Age of an older politics of Grand Narratives - This is how you make the world a better place etc. Whatever your qualms with that may be it's certainly not talking about a broad based Golden age where everything was hunky dory. In his own analysis, inevitable simplification notwithstanding - Neo-Conservativism like Sayed-Qutb Islamism was born out of a disillusionment of some of the dominant intellectual visions of the day which were out of sync with the realities.

  • THE POWER OF NIGHTMARES

  • Truman's America? THE GOLDEN AGE?! Don't make me laugh - sure, they became richer and powerful, but remember how life went back then - racial discrimination was rampant but legal, women treated as no more than an object, scientists / intellectuals were persecuted out of distrust, unlimited conservative / religious demagoguery everywhere, McCarthyism ruining untold careers, nuclear paranoia, anxiety plaguing everyday life; the 50s was soul-crunching conformist era. How is it America's golden age?

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93 yeah, it WASs the golden age. McCarthy was accusation record was excellent. he was almost 100% right. what do you know about it? Probably nothing more than what Jew-controlled TV tells you.

what do we have these days? EVERYBODY is on drugs. Blacks have completely failed as a people. rape. murder. high crime. No loyalty to America.

  • @headlesssoldier

So you are nostalgic for the 1950s. So tell me, do you prefer that colored, not just black, people know their place as second class citizens constantly persecuted by whites? Or woman kept at home as caretakers or sex toy? And that anyone who does not conform to society by being a scientific, non-Christian and open-minded thinker ?

1950s USA was worse then Nazi Germany - At least the Nazis were honest about being evil, but 1950s USA covers a utopian lie on its evils. Shameful.

  • @headlesssoldier

So what if the Jews want to destroy America with Communism? At least white people had it coming to them after spending the last thousand years persecuting Jews since Jesus died, even if you don't believe in the Holocaust. And also the still doesn't hide the fact McCarthy was wrong much of the time, did it ruthlessly and using anti-communism as his bid for presidency. Were Charlie Chaplain, Arthur Miller, that young kid Joseph N. Welch (all accused) Communists? They were not

  • Arrests were made in a recent organ-trafficking and money-laundering FBI sting operation which implicated five Talmudic rabbis from New York and neighboring New Jersey. This international rabbinical operation spanned from Jewish-entrenched New York to the Jewish state of Israel. The FBI used an informant, a Talmudic Jew named Solomon Dwek, to approach the rabbis — who were from the Syrian Jewish community in Brooklyn NY and Deal NJ. Homeless people living in these areas have been disappearing.

  • wow 66,666 views

  • @MaladaptiveCatalyst :) at the time of writing 72,336 hits - But the 6th segment from this uploader falls to just over 20,000. -> This should be scrutinised properly but it does show that the vast majority of viewer's did not watch the whole thing. And thats just the first of 3 films.

  • @eb352mm No we are also there for the strategic location, it helps us surround Iran just that much more, and will help us secure the oil over there, so we can create our pipeline to china.

  • Nothing is true...

    Everything is permitted...

7:57 He most likely just heard it somewhere and recited it without realizing it but it is rather interesting that he said those words exactly...

  • Nothing is true...

    Everything is permitted...

    7:57

  • @MzDemeanor821: No he's not. Get a grip and watch the whole program. Curtis is tracing the origins of Neo-con thinking in the US and that of the radical Muslims. Both shared a disillusionment with post-war 'liberal' society because it seemed to be questioning the 'nation' and 'religion' among other things. And no, terrorism is not a fantasy, but the idea that there's a central terrorist organisation out there called 'Al Quaeda' with Osama Bin Laden sitting astride it like a Hitler figure IS.

  • @8:30 he says religion is a myth and so is America as a nation. This is the most irresponsible and dangerous piece of garbage I have ever seen. My opinion of that network just took a huge nosedive. And there have been countless terrorist plots that have been thwarted in America since this documentary was created. Terrorism is hardly a 'fantasy'. No wonder the UK is going down the toilet and so is their patriotism. We don't need the self-hatred they have coming over here.

  • @MzDemeanor821 Religion is a series of myths, and patriotism would seem to be a tool primarily used to make populations do things for their leaders. How is it irresponsible to claim religion is a myth? That all religions differ whilst claiming to tell the absolute truth, attribute actions to supernatural agency (just like abandoned faiths such as graeco-roman polytheism) would suggest that "myth" is an accurate description.

  • @trumpetlegs You're right, Religion is just the organization that has been built up around a central tribal myth. Its funny that Abrahamic religions are given status separate of tribal mythology where as Aboriginal religions in North/South America, Africa and Oceania and elsewhere are not treated as such. The more "successful" religions have had parasitic relationships with successful states and economies and thus spread far and wide, however the veracity of the faith is no more authentic.

  • @MzDemeanor821 He doesn't claim that "America as a nation" is a myth. He uses the word "of" meaning "belonging to" as in "rights of man". The "myth" of America is not the same as the myth of Atlantis, it is the "myth" of the "manifest destiny", of boundless expansionism. Obviously the U.S.A is a nation, it would take an utter cretin to deny that. Also, how do you measure patriotism, and why do you rate it so highly that you view its decline as sending "the UK... down the toilet"?

  • It's obvious this documentary was made by communists to turn the American populace against their own government, manifesting decay from the inside in preparation for Russia's invasion, and you're all buying into it. Ignorant.

  • Its the ego of our leaders, more than anything. Bush and the sycophantic Blair. These are the reasons. Maybe you should watch this series again, and try to follow it this time.

  • Oh when conservatives are in power, it's some devious plot and tragic stupidity "The Power of Nightmares". When Liberals are back in power with the exact same policies, there are no such "documentaries".

  • @1xirsx1 Yes there are there are such "documentaries" made, this was made by a British Historian, while a British liberal government was in power.

Curtis made three documentaries, all linked together, he gives no quarter to any power, right or left. His denunciation of Clinton and New labour was equal to any other.

  • @1xirsx1

    Fucking Fascist

  • @eb352mm

Soviets where not after resources there - we have plenty of our own - 50% of worlds resources is here actualy.

We was there to give a better life for our neighbours and end their civil war.

We built for them lots of factories, roads, tunnels, powerplants, schools e t c - 90% of everything you see there even now is Soviet-built.

Just as resources we surveyed there would belong to Afgani people - not to USSR not to any transnational mega-corporation

  • @MarshallJukov Not buying that.

  • @EllaChase

And i`m not even selling to you anything - just stating FACTS

First of all go study how civil war in Afganistan had began and who is to blame

  • i NEED SUB ITA VERSION..

    HARD SO

  • it's so hard to care about the world when it's filled with people who make comments like the ones posted here

  • this makes alot of sense really. When u think about it you have more chance of being hit by lighting than being killed by muslim terrorist.

  • Neo-cons- Henry Strauss was a Jew, Henry Kissinger a Jew, Richard Perle is a Jew, Paul Wolfowitz is a Jew, Douglas J. Feith- jewish, Elliott Abrams- Jewish. The list goes on and on. Is anyone else seeing a similarity here? Why are Jews so over-represented in Neo-consevativism when they only make up 2.2% of the total population of the US? Here's why- Neo-cons are Zionist through and through.

  • @Germanicworlds

    Ahem - i assume you are a neo-nazi?

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93 No, i'm not a neo-nazi i just have an open mind to the truth. Is that an ad hominem attack because you can't argue the truth of the point?

  • The fascist politiciansaround the world are simultaneously using this deception to usher in a New World Order police state.

  • @ukpropaganda

This is a left wing, not right wing. Fascists are traditionally Right Wingers who are obsessed with the superiority of their nation and way of life (e.g. America) over all others, and are generally xenophobic, racist, anti-democratic, ultraconservative, and in the case Germany 1940s, Genocidal. If you happen to hate Fascists, good, but if you believe in "defending our guns and sovereignty against Muslims, gays, Chinese, Communists and godless globalists" bullcrap, fuck off.

  • love the bbc I would gladly pay the licence fee here in america for their complete programing.

  • "Skeptics" never bring this up

  • chtulhu will get you

  • @cloudstrife3139 ..I can truly understand why you don't get it..Christianity is not a religion.Jesus Christ warned us against religion and told us all..There is no father before the creator..Our creator God is our father in Heaven and is a relationship..far from a religion.Religion is based on other peoples and false Gods ideas and teachings..Religion is everything Other than Christ Our God,Our father, our savoir..

  • When was this program made?

  • One of the founders of the two groups of bastards was in the USA! How ironic!

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93 Both of them were in the US, Qutb visited America, and seriously didn't like it...

  • @BudPeters44 Warfare has been in existence since man walked the earth. does that mean it should continue? loyalty to one's nation is only a means of differentiating and dividing people of another nation. We should only replicate the past if it is worth replicating.

  • What a great doc series. They are a very detailed historical account of the neocon/jihadist movements, BBUUTT I just finished the second episode and it has yet to mention anything about money, big banking, big oil, american infusing propaganda into afghan text books in the early 90s which party led to the rise of the Taliban. It hasn't even mentioned the Taliban yet. Still, I find everything to be true EXCEPT the neocons motives.

  • yay

  • I did a degree in Intl. Politics and our first task was to watch the third part of this documentary. Incredible and insightful, if only the rest of television was as informative and unafraid to challenge preconceptions.

This is the documentary equivalent of The Wire.

  • @KingOfTheShrews good call! i second that, 2 British Broadsheets labelled this documentary as the second best piece of tv in the world of the last decade....

    btw. no1 was The Wire.........

  • You can rent this series on Netflix. Be smart.

  • 'The Power of Nightmares: The Rise of the Politics of Fear' was a superb series — often amusing, it dug up some important characters and obsessive oddballs, it treated viewers like grown-ups, developed a fascinating thesis, and used a wide range of images and sounds to hold the attention. It's great TV and food for thought. Adam Curtis justifiably wins prize after prize for his film documentaries and TV series.

  • Good movie!! Love Isis

  • one huge problem with his thoughts and this vise..Religion and layolty to one's nation or home..has been in existance since man walked earth..its not a new thing lol

  • @BudPeters44 I agree with you, but to me, the new thing is the power of technology. The world has become very small/united, and now the Earth is everyone's "home". We need to start identifying our problems on a global level, as opposed to us vs you. I am loyal to Earth, and all its inhabitants. Peace.

  • @Joeybagadounuts08 Well...humans are just selfish by nature, in a genetic level. If you read the first book of Richard Dawkins, which in my opinion is a great writer/scientist, you may share the same thoughts as i do. Earth has given us everything we needed for us to evolve, and the day its resources will become limited is coming. What concerns me is the fact the we have the resources and the technology to give every person a very good life and we are still not doing it effectively.

  • @Joeybagadounuts08 you new world order fag, we can become 'global' without giving up sovereignty you faggot nigga, centralised power is not a good thing you bitch nigga.

  • @Joeybagadounuts08 Me too, I agree with what you say but you should see Adam Curtis' new production All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace .This probably wont be shown in America -free-est country on earth - either. Anybody else reading this, both documentaries are very well worth watchin. This is no Michael Moore garbage.

  • @cullyvan Why do you assume it won't be shown in America? They showed this one over there, (In fact I think they've shown most of his stuff there), if not on BBC America then various film festivals. Even his one about Nick Leeson won best documentary at a San Francisco festival. I'm sure they'll show it.

  • @gullivera I'm not trying to say its banned. Its been shown on at a few festivals as you say , but check the wiki entry for it, it will explain a bit more. Its not got mass appeal to say it lightly.

  • 9/11 was an-inside job, appart from that i agree with it.

  • Nice Hitler mustache on the Islamo-fascist Quttub

  • @recombinedds the ruling classes benefit from polorization, be it through fundimental sunnis or shites or neo-cons, if u r 2 rule the population the easiest way is to devide them, hence the phrase devide and conquer.

So 2 me ur arguments irrelavant, all religious/semi-religious, racist... groups r beneficial 2 the ruling classes.

religions have become a tool to seperate ppl and, neocons, al quida, hezbolah and.... r all used by the worlds rulers to rule ppl through fear and hate mongering.

  • @recombinedds im iranian & have seen worst that religion has 2 offer along with millions of iranians.

u have 2 realize that the division among the worlds population has led 2 the surge of these filthy dictators that pretend 2 b our saviors & cling 2 man-made relgions & fear & hate 2 justify their rule.

fundimentalist christian/jews benefit from fundimentalism muslims & viseversa 2 them the more ppl suffer the better. they r all in it together my friend.

i can illabirate if u wish.

  • It may have happened much slower had Reagan not been as dogged, but it would have happened none the less because Communism doesn't work at all. Leading them to believe that we the US was serious about building those defensive and offensive nuclear weapon systems helped them go bankrupt trying to match us.

  • @recombinedds communism helped brought the first man into space "sputnik", while the rest were just worrying about a nuclear attack from russia

  • The sooner we get off oil the better, so we stop funding these crazies who want to destroy us with OUR OWN MONEY! The neo-cons are frankly idiots who don't grasp the short or long term effects of their policies, as praiseworthy as their ideals are, their means are self defeating. They did not need to "invent" terrorism or the Communist block as the biggest threat to the free world, that was plainly obvious to anyone with any knowledge of world politics and events.

  • THE REAL ENEMIES ARE SAUDI ARABIA, SYRIA, and IRAN. They support, fund, equip, encourage, and train the nutcases. Pakistan is nothing but the supporter, recruiter, trainer for the Taliban, its weak, ineffectual, and contradictory, with the ISI in bed with the Taliban. We should stop funding their messed up dysfunctional state, but we cannot let it fall to the jihadis either because THEY HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

  • Do you think if we sacrifice our commitment, like it or not, in the Middle East, in Iraq, or we sell out Israel, one of our most important allies, a fellow democracy, to the Arabs - secular or Islamist, liars and warmongers will "solve" the problem is simpllistic at best and downright stupid at worst. That is extremely dangerous, that never ever works. Aggressive powers whether the Nazis, the Soviets, Islamic fundamentalists are only encouraged when they achieve gains towards their goal.

  • You have to be out of your mind to argue that "we create terrorism by going after the perpetrators and end up "creating" more by inevitably killing or alienating civilians" is idiotic, the use of violence is a choice, you can either help yourself and others, or you can choose to blame America, Israel, the West, etc. and murder innocent civilians. That is narrow minded, uninformed idiocy. The Islamist terrorists CANNOT BE APPEASED.

  • You think It doesn't matter what we do, they are going to threaten and attack us. This retarded argument that we just get out of Afghanistan and magically all these threats will disappear?

  • In any case, the neo-cons are not the only ones who realize the threat of radical Islamist terrorist. Do you seriously believe this BS that terrorism is "created" as the bogeyman? The jihadi crazies WILL STOP AT NOTHING to attack the West, enslave other Muslims to their barbarian sharia rule.

  • Tell that terrorists that they are not a threat to the victims of 9/11, the attacks on Western embassies, the attacks going on throughout the West, Middle East, India, etc. Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc. their affiliates ARE A HUGE THREAT in the long run. Iran, Sudan, Saudi Arabia are totalitarian regimes that need to be overthrown, whether by its own people, preferably.

  • BS. This "journalism" is nothing but leftist pussies sitting comfortably in their chairs who think by appeasing these insane murderers it will solve all our terrorist problems. If (and they have) the jihadis take over, leftists will be amon...g the first to die. Imbeciles.

  • This film is the work of retards, neo-cons, however dangerous and stupid they may be, do not stem from the same philosophy as the Islamist crazies. This moral relativity crap is total garbage, to compare the neo-cons as just as bad as Al-Qaeda is left wing foolishness and defeatism.

  • Typical BBC idiocy.

  • @chingchongnipgong not actually broadcast on th BBC you right wing judge

  • it seems that the neocon idiology not only prevaled in the west but also in the mideast where the "leaders" pretent 2 b relgious & enforce religion on the poor masses, while in private they dont even believe in a single thing they say.

Lets put it simple NO leader of any country today really cares for nothing but wealth and self-preservation.

and its seems the leaders of the world realized the best way to survive is to pit 1 group against another by polirizing them.

  • I dont understand. If one just reads quaran and the hadith, it would be obvious that its a highly materialistic and capitalistic religion. Which goes as far as giving formulas for dividing war profits and inheretance.

So i dont understand why a muslim would blame the west for their desire of material wealth, since Mohamed himself rose from nothing to be the king of arabia. Its hypocracy at its best.

  • @k8k8k8er OK, have you read the Qur'an? Have you read all the Hadeeth? Islam is not materialistic at all, and we condemn capitalism. If you knew of the economic system we favor, you would not say things like that. Formulas for dividing war profits = Keeping one third, giving one third to charity, and giving one third to poor people. The west is dependent on money. Muhammad actually rose from nothing to be the ruler of the Islamic empire, not king of Arabia. Know something before you argue it.

  • @TehKoolaidkid ive read quaran, im iranian. ive read pasages such as: man reciecves twice as much as a woman, or the law of cutting off ppls hands 4 stealling if that isnt capitalist i dont know what is & many more i can list if u like

i come from a land where mulahs tried 2 sell this BS to us but we know Islams very materialistic, imperialist & man made, im not some liberal westerner u can fool with ur BS.

btw mohamed married khadija 1 of richest woman, thats how he started this "rise" 2 power

  • @TehKoolaidkid how can u argue that islam isnt materialistic, when even u urself mention it has rules 4 WAR PROFITS?

wouldnt a real religion from "god" promote peace, instead of promoting war through war profits?

This is 1 example of how materialistic, imperialistic & MAN-MADE islam is. I can give u many more examples from quaran & practices derived from hadith & sunna today in islamic societies that show how materialistic & imperialistic islam is.

again i know islam so sorry that doesnt work

  • does this nigga actually have a hitler 'stace?

  • @emilyek1

Neocons are Neocons, they are not Jews. You hate had been diverted by capitalists, religious fundamentalists and fascists away from the real enemies of civilization and the world - themselves! Jews are innocent - the reall enemies are the Plutocrats, Religious Fanatics and Fascists who want to undermine democracy and progress for their own benefits!

  • @emilyek1 dont call them jews...call them zionists. there is a difference

  • All values and moral "truths" should be questioned at all times.

  • @JamesThWilliams Not everything is a lie, and not everything should be "questioned," because that usually turns out to mean "rejected." It's a good idea to question things, but you're taking it too far. What makes someone truly intelligent and informed is to be able to examine every issue from all sides, in an unbiased manner, and decide what is really best. Sometimes that is the same as what others say. It's destructive to society when you reject everything just because it's the norm.

  • @Spock356

Questioning and rejecting are two different things entirely.

  • @JamesThWilliams yes, they are in theory, but they usually tend to work together. When the people who follow the postmodern critique say they are questioning things, they are influenced by their views and often simply look for the flaws in things, then reject them, instead of looking at all aspects of them and then deciding whether or not they're good or bad.

  • @Spock356

Then they are not questioning their own beliefs which is always the most important thing to question.
