It's not like they had nothing better to do, some of the people were literally working one minute, and then a second later they had to LEG IT to higher land or get washed away, it was that sudden and unexpected. The love of my life lives only ten minutes from where this photo was takin, im truly happy she was not caught up in it like some unlucky people.. i pray for all those effected by this. i'll be moving there in a few months from the states and i for one will do anything i can to help with whatever clean up is still needed when i get there.

It's not like they had nothing better to do, some of the people were literally working one minute, and then a second later they had to LEG IT to higher land or get washed away, it was that sudden and unexpected. It is part of a theory called the Gaia Theory, The cycle of Ice Ages is causally related to the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. Pre 1750 it was 2.9 parts/10,000. Its now 3.9 parts per 10,000. Its been 3 million yrs since its been at that level. BTW ice ages cycle every 100000yrs or so not every 1000yrs. You are confusing the so called "mini ice age" of the late Middle Ages.
