I dont know if anyone could help but how does this compare to the Lexicon Alex. I'm not a big fan of rack units I would prefer to use a stomp pedal. The Price range is very similar between the two so price isnt going to be a problem.
I love it , I love the reverse reverb it's so trippy , it could be great for live recreations of songs like castles made of sand , and whole lotta love
I'm really into ambient U2 type delays, but I also really like spacey pink floyd and john frusciante reverb type things, like in his solo stuff. Would you reccomend this or the TC Electronics Hall of Fame?
If you could tell me the chords that you play in the breakdown of the "Paper Thin Walls" riff that you play towards the end of this demo that would awesome. Thanks man!
Cool, I'm glad the "spring" reverb sounds as good as it does. I've been looking at the Boss FRV-1 which is amazing, but this thing has good spring sound as well. Hmmm...decisions decisions.
@jg76aries Let me make that decision even harder for you by adding the TC Electronic Hall of Fame on the check-out list ;) It sounds better than the Hardwire Stereo Reverb anyway B-7
Andy,is this the made in China version or the USA? also, since they moved to China do you think its the same build quality and components used?and does it even matter?
I own a Grail, and like it, but I would have this if I'd been aware of it at the time. The Grail has 3 modes, and one knob, which only adjusts the amount of reverb. A little goes a long way, so I don't turn it much past 9:00 or 10:00. The RV7 sounds a bit more grown-up, and has a lot more options for tailoring the sound to match exactly what you're looking for. I may grab one. I still like the onboard tube 'verb on my Princeton Reverb and Concert, but for a 'verbless amp, this is nice.
Very honest review. I have the reverb and it does exactly as in the clip. Do not expect huge rooms or over the top sounds. It's for a more mature sound imo. It does drain batteries very fast though. 4hrs and the battery is dead. On the good side a simple adapter works just fine. No hums or anything. Best thing for me is that this reverb does not color your sound at all. Try it and see if you like it yourself.
I just got one of these oon sale for $49 bucks!! These are :LEXICON reverbs people, Forget the dense plastic comparision opinions. This is ab anazing quality box all the HArdwire series is really good. Best damn reverb unit I have ever used!
i get decent reverb out of my little fender amps if i angle it in my hallway just right haha.whats a good reverb pedal for $100-ish cheaper preferably, just enough for a bit of depth or a springy jazz echo, nothing crazy.
this is a fantastic pedal highly recommend-remember tho like all good equipment, spend time in the store, run it through couple different guitars & amps, sise by side other pedals in the range. good musicians can tweak sounds out of any pedal, amp or guitar regardless of quality, cost or vintage. use your ear not a magazines marketing spin. oh yeah great pedal!
reverb is a word derived from reverberation... reverberation is the sound of your guitar tone bouncing off of objects then bouncing back at you. bigger the room, more reverb...
older amps (50's and 60's) used spring reverbs that didn't actually simulate the room reverbs accurately but gave a cool tone... you hear that sort of reverb a lot on surf rock and rockabilly type stuff... more model pedals use digital circuitry to more accurately replicate those tones.
why anyone would want a holy grail or anything boss is beyond me. if you want a really good reverb get the earthquaker ghost echo reverb or the malekko spring chicken/chicklet.
this reverb in the video actually sounds pretty decent though.
one of the better reverb pedals out there. it's basically an improved version of the Boss RV-5. But, if you want a better spring reverb, id go for the boss FRV-1. the Malekko spring chicken takes second place for me.
Holy Grail is not as versatile. sorry for you EH fans out there.
personally, i like the modulated setting the best. I like a lush, ambient reverb for when i play jazz. Don't really use reverb for much anything else.
also, the dr. scientist reverberator is pretty good as well.
Great Reverb pedal. The Lexicon reverbs are the shit. Had a Marshall Reflector; the Hardwire is far superior than the Marshall. Onstage or recording, it's studio quality reverb. I use it with my Marshall 1974X and it's perfect. As lush or subtle as I need it to be.
People need to stop judging all the time with this pedal with another because it is all personal preference and how the person plays or what they person plays. I've seen people like the cheaper stuff for that fresh poppy plastic sounds or more expensive ends for the smooth rolling sound so i honestly think people should just try it themselve and see if they like it or not everyone has their own taste
Thank you for this comment, I use the same amp reissue. Sounds SO amazing. But need reverb...my holy grail sucks, sounds good but so unreliable, fucks up the tone AND now it cuts out if u kick it the wrong way...so i've been looking for a new reverb pedal. I was thinking either this or the boss 63 spring reverb...
YOu won't have any reliability issues with these Hardwire pedals. I have couple of them, they're top-notch quality. And the sound quality is first-rate all the way. IMO, this pedal line is just about the best value in the entire pedal market today. rgds.

I had a lot of trouble with my Marshall Reflector. (after warrantee of course!)
Squealing when powered by a battery.
Intermittent funtioning at all.
I've finally declared it dead, rather than wait for the next time it decides to work.
I was never impressed with its reverse sound in the first place.
People always comment on it being "built like a tank." It's actually two boards, a delicate ribbon connector, etc, stuffed into a very heavy box.
I have Tech21 Boost RVB now, and love it.
