I'm not sure where you got that, because Panic scrapped a whole albums worth of work because it wasn't the direction they wanted to go in. The result? Pretty. Odd., which they have stated many times is the result of them growing up. Ryan even said he wanted to make music that would make people happy when listening to it, instead of the angsty music of AFYCSO. Look up the interview.

Well I personally think it was brave of Panic to completely change their style for Pretty.Odd. even though they knew not everyone would like it. Bands grow up and their music grows with it. They were 17-18 years old when they wrote AFYCSO, so obviously they've grown up since then. It's a much more mature sound. They're making music for themselves, not just for the fans. That's the way it should be.

AFYCSO is great, but Pretty. Odd. is an awesome album!
