When you say "shut your mouth .." there's no need to use "up". Just .. "HEY, Shut your mouth". Then you can add more adjectives and then it becomes "HEY MAN .. shut your BIG FAT mouth". Or you can get dirty and say "Hey, shut your GOD DAMNED mouth". Or you can go all out and shout "Man, shut the fuck up". That's when you use the "up". Much more effective and insulting.

And when you want tell some he "sucks", it''s "Dude, you suck~!". There's no "s" in the verb, becuz the subject has shifted from third person to be directed at someone directly. So, it's "You suck!", and not "You sucks".
