  • Being a teacher with special needs doesn't mean you can say who has Autism and who doesnt. Just because you watch a video for 1:20sec doesnt show you what people go threw day to day. He is 3 and doesnt have any words so that goes to show you right there he is behind and needs to be looked at by a doctor.. I wish the mom all the luck. I see you did get him diagnpsed and he does have Autism good luck its a very hard job being a parent with a child who has Autism.

  • I dont really see it except when he hit you when you tried to comfort him...it sometimes takes a bit more observation. I would say that extreme picky eating, inability to get childs attention consistently, stimming and speech problems are the biggies....

  • Actually from this video I couldn't tell anything other than he has a low frustration tolerance and likes your attention.

  • i am a special need's teacher who has been sent to 5 training experiences on working with children with autism. Every tired whining kid is not autistic. He made eye contact when you said his name. He didn't stim or flap. He doesn't have the typical autistic gate. His tantrum, believe me, was not anywhere near the intensity of an autistic tantrum. Let the poor kid have a nap when he is tired. I thought he was awfully obedient about trying to make baskets. You are blessed.

  • I don't know the age of your son but I was curious if you were getting any treatment for him like ABA. I have seen it make a big difference in many autistic children

  • There are many faces of Autism.

Lack of eye contact, stims, sensory behaviors (licking, etc) lack of language development, more clumsy than usual, high or low pain tolerance, etc. Don't go to a regular Ped you want to go an autistic organization in your area. The information can be googled.

  • My son is autistic, and this behaviour is something we see. Autistic children like predictability, and when things become unpredictable, this behaviour is commonly seen. It's really hard to tell from one video clip, but his verbal articulation (from this video) seems delayed (again, hard to tell) and the fact that he's not interested in anyone else would be warning signals that you should speak to a qualified Dr. about.

  • What part of the behaviour are you talking about? I don't see anything apart from a tired toddler. I don't see any stereotypical behaviours or anything like that. Speak to a professional rather than post on youtube.

  • Hello. I really do not think that this is Autism. I work with many children that are on the Autism Spectrum, and he does not seem to have Autism. He seems to have low frustration tolerance. This can be worked on at home with patiently working through upsetting situations with him and reflecting his feelings, so he knows that you understand him. Hope this helps!

  • lol yes is autism this seem

  • lol lol the kids having a temper tantrum hes got low tolerance of frustration hes 3 these things take time to learn -

i think ur alll looking for a problem when one doesnts exist - do u want ur kids on medication ???? - have ulooked at his diet if u feel hes a bit hyper ? hes a litle baby hes learning about the world what part of his behaviour is the autistic part ???

im wondering if u have muchhausens by proxy ? -

  • you're an ignorant oldbag..why not research before opening your mouth?

  • Mild autism!!

  • The autistic spectrum involves, mild-severe ADD/ ADHA, general hyperactivity etc.. I do not support the autictic sprectrum. I feel my sons severe autism is not taken as seriously because it is swomped with much less severe cases. I think the autistic spectrum should be split up a little, so that not all kids are considered autistic.

  • My son has a few medical conditions including mild autism. My son does do a similar action when he cant do something he wants to. But my other son does the same thing when he is tired and cranky.

Please let the docs do further testing.

  • He was diagnosed in October with Autism!

  • I believe your son has autism, it frustrates me how some do not even see it. When we go for family walks people looks at us as parents when my son screams etc.. I wish you all the success in the world with your son and can only recommend healthy eating and lots of family walks which helped my son : )

  • Now, THIS comment is helpful.

  • @amiepeeken Im so sorry that your son is autistic. And Im sorry that people were giving you a hard time about it when you were just trying to find some answers. Im glad that you posted this because my son acts the very same way. If something doesnt go perfectly he has a meltdown. I have an older daughter and 10 nieces and nephews and have never seen any of them act like this. My son has a hard time keeping eye contact with me and he will not say I love you to any of us. Thank you!

  • @amiepeeken I have 2 boys with autism and its so hard. embrace it. stay in faith. and be proud of him. your a great mom be proud of yourself . you are not alone GOD BLESS

  • Looks normal to me

  • Looks like a frustrated toddler to me. My son did this, but MUCH louder, and for much longer periods. It's hard to not have things go your way...poor kiddo wasn't making his shot :) My son is not autistic.

  • My 3 year old and 1 year old Granddaughters were diagnosed with autism. The 3 year old does the same thing your son does. She gets very frustrated if she can't do things. She also has a spacial problem. you can tell her to bring you something that is in plain sight and she will not see it. He very well could be on the spectrum. Does he do any stemming at all?

  • is he verbal? i don't know he could be my son is almost 3 and was diagnosed a year ago.

  • I have an Autistic son, I am no expert but I dont think your son has Autism-good luck.

  • Yes, he is on the autistic sprectrum, most kids are today

  • You are incorrect. Most kids are not on the spectrum. The latest published numbers are that 1 out of 150 children are diagnosed. Please do not make light of a serious developmental disability. April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day. Educate yourself!

  • Are you trying to cause trouble whensolace? I am simply suggesting alot of kids have difficulties with all the junk foods/chemicals we ingest. I have an autistic son and this is enough education for me. Published statistics may not include several children, including those whose parents do not seek advice over their childrens problems. I wish I could educate myself on finding a cure for autism but their is not one YET, what do statistics tell me? Not alot!

  • No, I'm not trying to cause trouble. I'm just correcting your assumption. I, too, have a SON with autism. Broadly saying that most kids today are on the spectrum is simply incorrect. There is a huge difference between that and "alot of kids with difficulties". I'm with you. Statistics do not tell us a lot, but I'm not going to knowingly put out false information like implying that most children are affected. You and I were just dealt a different hand when we were blessed with our sons.

  • What pisses me off is all the junk foods they give kids in school. I went to the head teacher to try and get my son on a better diet and she wanted to contact the social services over my son not heving sugary foods, milk and wheat. Dieticians tell everyone to have a pint of COWS milk. We are the only animal that consumes another animals milk, and in adulthood. The milk is loaded with prolactin/estrogen, Ca + P for horns!!!

I conclude we haumans are F in stupid!

    I wish you success. xxx

  • Statistics depend on the diagnostic titles and how they are diagnosed, frequency of kids being diagnosed because the way the system works. I do not meet a person these days that doesn't know or have an autisitic child. If your right, 1 in 150 children is a huge number.

  • Before my son was dx, I did not know anyone who even had an Autistic child in their family. I have lived in 3 different states and have a very large family, so it's not like I have been living under a rock.

It is now 1 in 91 children.

  • most kids are today ???? - can u please explain whatu mean by this ?? i dont understand
