Don't get me wrong the effort and work is great here, just not powerful enough to live up to The Protomen's music.

I really think you could only apply visuals to their music if it was a stage performance, not with sprite based animation, sprites just lack the dynamics necessary to successfully convey the emotion the singers put into the lyrics.

That's an interesting twist! In all the games, Light is all like, "Megaman, Willy is up to it again. You must stop him!" And he throws Megaman into the fray like a pokemon. Here in the tune to the song, Light cherishes Megaman so much, he can't bare to see him go into what is certain doom. I like it! Makes Willy seem more... of a threat!

Like any analogy, it loses it's value when broken down to minutia. I think the point here is this: in the story, there are CURRENTLY no heroes left in man, but there SHOULD be. The people are too secure in their slavery. They don't want freedom, they want a kinder master! So, they saw Protoman and 'picked' him to be their new master and then discarded him when he lost. This is why Megaman is so bitter. He killed his brother to give freedom to them, then realized they didn't want it!

Emo? The story is a commentary on modern life. The story is dark because it's a cautionary tale. i.e. don't sit around waiting for the police/a politician/superman to handle your problems for you- stand up and take the reigns of your own life. No hero can save you, no matter how great they are.

In other words, it says: don't be a damned emo. Be your own hero instead.

Something that I've always wondered about The Protomen and the interpretation of their songs.

In act I it's clear that Protoman, Rockman and Dr Light believe "there are no heroes left in man". That mankind won't fight to save themselves from this fate, and while it's true the majority of the population won't act there still remain two humans who opposed Wily.

Sniper Joe and Dr Light himself, did Light never tell his sons about Joe? If he had, would that change how they felt?

It's easy to say that when you're a robot, a machine designed to counter the evil Wily rules with but what if you're a normal man or woman? The people of this world have no power, they can't fight the machines on equal terms and they control no production bases to deprive Wily of his power. The humans in this world are totally powerless, any resistance they mount is doomed save for Light's robots. It's easy for Light's robots to say man has no heroes left, they have power the humans don't.

Light obviously has the technology to build weapons powerful enough to combat Wily's robots, as well as armor strong enough to resist them. How about instead of building sentient beings and using them as tools (as Light did with Protoman) he try to arm the general public and mount a resitance alongside them?

And if your answer is that the humans aren't willing to or are too afraid to, that just goes back to proving the point, doesn't it?
