@TheEdwardoishyland It's the design of the hotel/elevator. It's pretty simple, and a really nice design.

This in a way reminds me of a hotel in Maui I stayed in 13 years ago, there were just 4 elevators, I'm pretty sure I kept track of each one I got into on my way out for sight seeing, I "think" it was A, C & D I got a lot where finally would end up in B in the 3½ days there. Made me think of McD's happy meals when I was smaller, just waiting on that 4th and final prize

@clarkloveselevators We refer to those as "phantom doors". We honestly haven't figured it out yet, but I'll be sure to get an answer next time I go!

Very nice hotel

When I went to the hilton in london hyde park the Otis lifts were being refurbished with the Otis compass system.

The floor buttons were being removed inside the lifts. The compass system was working even though some lifts still had their floor buttons. Just like in this video the floor buttons didn't work when the lift was in use, but when when the lift was idle the floor buttons worked.
