wonderful movie of a wonderful town. i've been there a couple of weeks ago without knowing much what to expect, but it outdoes Rome (which i visited after Lucca) in the space in my memory
@mana1618 Thanks for the comment. I too was amazed at the beauty of this place even by comparison with Florence and Rome, where I also spent time. Like yourself, I had no expectations when I visited Lucca.
I love everything about Lucca. The Church of the Santa Maria della Rosa features one whole side wall which was once a wall of a Roman fort. The Stations of The Cross are hung from this wall. An amazing building. Don't miss the San Frediano church which houses the embalmed corpse of Saint Zita - over 700 years old. I recommend that you eat at the Baralla restaurant close to the ancient site of he Roman ampitheatre. Terrific food and atmosphere at this restaurant.
Thanks for the positive comments. I really enjoyed this place and when I was there the weather couldn't have been better. I, too, would go back in a heartbeat!
Excellent video captures. We were there this past winter 2008 and fell in love with the place. We would return in a heart beat. I admire the way the "Old Town" has been kept original, especially even the store signs whereas a new owner has to keep the original store front sign.
Nice video but not proper music. Those "mandolinos" songs are a bit old, ridicoulus and typical of southern Italy.

Ah yes, Lucca. I've had breakfast at every cafe by the Piazza St Michele...best way to spend your morning as far as I'm concerned.
