guys, can't we just agree on the fact that this song is awesome, no matter if noel or liam sings it? this version is great because it's different - noel's voice turns it into a sweet, gentle acoustic number, while liam's voice in the original mixed with the bass, drums and electric guitars makes it a ballsy, arrogant rocker, which is also great. both gallaghers are brilliant singers in their own way, these two versions of this song prove that - can't we leave it that way??

Supersonic will always be a big metal guitar song, it ain't no acoustic song. But this gives Liam the right to sing whichever Oasis song he chooses with Beady Eye.

All I can say - this is a fantastic and more soulful renewal of a fantastic tune. Whether Noel has the right to sing the songs he wrote himself? I think so. Liam is also in his good right to sing songs he wrote himself.

@hellomcowen Supersonic is as much Liam's song as Noel's. Noel spent what? 30 minutes writing it? When you think Supersonic, the first thing you think about is Liam's voice singing "I need to be myself". If Noel is allowed to sing this then Liam is most definitely allowed to sing songs like Wonderwall is he chooses. Also, why Noel sings so many Oasis tunes only he knows. It only makes him look reliant on old work. He should be promoting new stuff. Same thing with DOYS, no BIU or TT.

@gurudev91 why he sings so many oasis tunes. well he wrote the vast majority of them. he's well aware most people go to see him because he was in Oasis, if i said Noel Gallagher you think "Oasis" not "...High Flying Birds". he is putting on a show for the audience as should any performer, otherwise he could just sit in his room and play whatever he wanted to himself! in an interview he called them all his babies, why not respect your babies?

@gurudev91 The number 1 thing oasis fans overestimate is Liam's singing ability. Only the most invested Oasis fans consider him to be "the best singer in the world". Liam is not even close to being a perfect singer, but he succeeded because he came up with his own style as a frontman that attracted fans. Noel is an average guitar player, but he is a good songwriter which allowed him to write good albums.

@demiandgOK Exactly! People make it seem like Liam's vocals were as valuable as Freddie Mercury's were to Queen. There were songs that Queen released that could only be sung by a brilliant and versatile singer like Freddie Mercury. Noel is not in the same position, Liam had a unique voice but he was not breaking through 4 vocal ranges with technical perfection in any oasis song.

To put it shortly, contrary to what some of his fans think, Liam's singing does not make the world go around.

Love Noel, but for me, it's a matter of voice and attitude to make the song believable. I like Noel's voice in The Importance of being iddle or Don't look back in Anger, but, for me, this song is believable and spectacular in Liam's voice.
