Shen long is a mistranslation/april fools joke. Shen Long and Gouken are basically the same character.

Shen Long was initially a mistranslation that became a hoax perpetuated by Gamepro. Eventually Capcom became aware of it and decided to acknowledge it with the Gouken character. Look it up on wikipedia.

i played gouken on sf4 and i think it was a let down that considering he was ken and ryus master that he didnt have a dragon punch.

that's cuz u suck, if u only rely on shoryken then thats sad 4 u... his tatsumaki senpuu kyaku is much more efective than any shoryuken in SF4 (xcept for the EX one of Seth)

his tatsumaki replaces the shoryuken move and it's only original. think of it this way he is the master of anatsuken(martial art of ken, ryu & akuma) shoryken was said to be the most effective non-forbiden move of this art. this is why he think of using it fully on supers and ultras.

but he would be much more better if he had the dragon punch to match up against akuma and other players as he gets boring without using the shoryuken . its a nice feeling when you dragon puch someone, shoryuken shoryuken shhhhhhhhhhoryuken!

mayb it's really a matter of opinion i prefer to tatsumaki sumeone especially the rising one from akuma sf3 and gouken sf4. but i have to admit shoryuken does feel good.

the reason he has the raging demon attack is because he created it and he tought it to Akuma. He's Ryu Ken and Akuma's master he tought them every thing they know.

Do u mean Gouken is/was Akumas master? Then its wrong, Gouken is/was Akumas training partner, "Goutetsu" was Akumas and Goukens master :)

that shen long is not the final product of that joke. capcom made him canon and used the name gouken. cheak on wikipedia and offical capcom sites, shen long was a mis translation

from one of ryu's end fight quotes.
