To everyone who is having trouble because of level:

Oblivion's leveling system is kinda broken. If you don't spend TONS of time working on your Endurance, you will have really low health. The only way to keep up with the rest of the world is to have at least +3's on each of your leveled-up attributes.

The world levels up with you, and you have to stay ahead of it to survive. You could finish the main quest at level 2, practically.

ive done this bit but wen i return i talk to martin the savilus and savilus says there is more to be done inside the city walls...i just cant find the walk through for defeating the demons inside the walls...and they are tough...u got the big ice monsters...the dinosaur thingy and loads more tough demons...doing the demon gate for kvatch was simple compared to wat awaits downstairs in the chapel...

Tell me, please...what is the recomended level for this quest? I'm doing it at level 2 and every enemy I face is a challenge... if I fight 2 at 1 time, I die quickly.

Let me tell you something my friend. The higher level you are the stronger the enemies. You must have set the difficulty pretty high. Just press start go to options and change the difficulty to easiest or whatever you think best.

Rewards vary, however, most are rewarded in Gold. Though, some quest will reward valuable items and weapons.

never ever wait until lvl 18 to do this quest... i did and instead of scamps and clannfears i was swarmed by dagganoths and spider daedra, etc. stupid level scaling makes missions like this impossible at higher lvls...

@ Yourmom and Daniel2222222222, get to level 20 and then get daedra armor and weapons, it makes this much easier, I'm level 24 and doing this now and it's easy.

Yep. And you'll notice that when you go throughout the main storyline, your level will progress as it goes.

By the time I started the main quest I was a listener for the black brotherhood and a vampire.. I wore all black with a Akavir Dai-katana. So it had a Jedi feel to it.. I always had a black brotherhood underling that stayed hidden, but followed me everywhere. Even survived into the end. You should've had him wait with the capt. So he can help take the city back.

actually it is worth the money. great graphics, 250 gb (i have a expansion which cost me just 40 bucks) and more. the ps3 is great, but people who cannot affort it (like you) say that it is bad. it isn't, it doesn't matter what you're response is, i still think the ps3 is the best console ever haha.

Yeah well, 8800GTS isn't cheap. Well worth it though, cause mods always make games awesome. Oblivion+OOO,MMM=Ultimate Oblivion Experiance. It pays to get a PC, since, you can upgrade the hardware, and the modding community always makes new mods. :)

I used it when i did this, its fine for the first part but wait for one of the kvatch soldiers to die in the oblivion gate and take his armor, youll need it inside.

I completed the "Breaking the Siege of Kvatch" when I was level 1, on my war-mage Breton. I led Ilend Volinus off a cliff into some shallow lava, and so I didn't get a bounty and I also got his Kvatch armour and Silver longsword for the rest of the quest.
