  • your doomed scrooge, your doomed for all time!

your future is a horror story written by your crime.

your chains are forged,by what you say and do!

so have your fun, when live is done, a nightmare waits for you!

now thats something to think about! thats really deep

  • Superb song;D

  • 1:48 the chain chokes him out so bad hahaha

  • I grew up watching this movie almost every Christmas!!

    "We're Marley and Marley, woahhhh"

  • as a kid this scene scared the crap out of me

  • @zhangfortang2 Thank god, so it wasn't just me then! This scene and the bit when Statler's face appears in place of the doorknob freaked me out so much...

  • @RobWithStyle haha i used to have nightmares about that scene lol

  • Muppets are COMMUNISTS! They hate Freedom!!!

    DOWN WITH FROZEN TEDDY BEARS!

  • 28 people are evicted orphans!

  • I set this as my ringtone, and since my teacher is terrified of ghosts. Well. That day was interesting :P for the class at least

  • Robert Marley = Bob Marley... lol

  • you will be visited from three ghost

    waldorf: "three ghosts?"

stalter: "this show needs a visit from three new writers!"

    both: "DOHOHOHOHOHOH!"

  • @TheEnigmaConundrum Good One!

  • Because of this movie, I grew up thinking there were supposed to be two Marley brothers and that all the other versions of "A Christmas Carol" were wrong lol. This is still my favorite version though.

  • did the whole chain thing scare anyone else as a kid?

  • @PatThePhat1

This scene used to scare me as hell

  • I love Michael Caine Movies! And the muppets Christmas Carol is one of them!

  • just FYI you spelt wait wrong it's weight. Other than that awesome up.

  • It makes me happy that they not only threw Statler and Waldorf in there, but they also named one Robert Marley to accompany Jacob.

  • Is there a reason that there are two Marley brothers in the muppet version? In every other version i have seen, Jacob Marley was the only one..

  • @Twifreak1993

Just so they could throw Statler and Waldorf in there!

  • This brings me back to my childhood years!

  • i love this video it is actually amazing xxxx

  • Frostbitten teddy bears? D: Those monsters!!!

  • When I was a kid, the line "Our hearts were painted black" gave me an overwhelming sense of dread.

  • statler and waldorf are perfect for marley and marley

  • Charles Dickens meaning of the visit of marley was that in the afterlife you will be chained to what you love and in this vid marley and marley are chained to money boxes and locks

  • More gravy than of grave...HAHA what a terrible pun! (*that line is in the original story)

  • Did you know the actor who played Scrooge also played Alfred in Batman Begins and the dark knight!?

  • @TheJamesAnimations his name is Michael Caine and he's done many famous roles for many many years

  • @ajwall1 I know....

  • @TheJamesAnimations He was also in Inception.

  • @msanimation2 I know

  • Anyone feeling like repeating the end were they say "Marley and Marley woooo, Marley and Marley woooo, Marley and Marley woooo, Marley and Marley woooo"

  • one for the wan.. oops I mean bankers

  • we specalized in causeing pain spreading fear and doubt

  • This Used To Scare The Shit Out Of Me.

  • ... Hah... Karma... =3

  • It's "Avarice and greed," for the record. Averious is not a thing.

  • @thebraidedmane

    that's the christmas spirit

  • @5COT5MAN I assume you're being sarcastic, though I'm not sure why. I wasn't rude or nasty, just pointed out the error.

  • @thebraidedmane

very true, I noticed the error myself, but you know... Have a good christmas

  • The shackles represent the unfair levels of taxation that the brave job/wealth creators Marley and Marley struggle under while the parasitic Bob Crachit and his ilk live it up on the government's teat.

  • i'm addicted to this song.

  • No wounder I thought this was creepy as a kid!

  • @TheMountainGoatBoy yea me too

  • The Muppets - teaching us the difference between laws and ethics.

  • @WhiteWaveWhiteIsland Best thing I have ever read on a muppets video here on youtube

  • Jacob: Expect the first ghost when the bell tolls one!

Scrooge: Can't I meet them all at once and get it over with?

That line is in the book, but it fits so perfectly with the humor of the Muppets. :)

And for years I thought they yelled "Chains!" at the end...

  • ah... reminds me of my favorite scene.... "light the wick not the rat! light the wick not the rat!"

  • I would love to stage version of this!

  • This is real funny plz make another one

  • watched this in English class for like the 10000000000th time . singing this song all week XD LOVE IT !!!!!

  • I agree with every comment that sais"best xmas film ever made"because it is!Also thats my favourite song in that movie

  • My favourite scene from this classic film, I owned it on VHS and would watch it every day for weeks, in part to see this scene. Memories, 'We're Marley and Marley, our hearts we're painted black.'. Classic.

  • like if at 2:24 you thought they said ''PAIN!''

  • We're in eternal damnation for our lives of unbridled cruelty...DOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!!! :D

  • Hmmmm...obviously a Liberal/Communist Christmas conspiracy.

  • Merry Christmas folks

  • My Teacher loves this movie well this song x

  • Is the one on the left Walter Brimley?

  • @FeelingTheFire1 No. Waldorf as Robert Marley, voiced by Dave Goelz.

  • MARLEY AND MARLEY ARE NOT LYING!!!!I WAS VISITED BY 3 SPIRITS IN 2004 WHEN I 7 YEARS OLD!!

  • @legozombi (Hangs mouth open, struggling to say "Me, too!")

  • Greed - a sin of excess. However, greed is applied to a very excessive or rapacious desire and pursuit of wealth, status, and power.

Avarice - a blanket term that can describe many other examples of greedy behavior. These include disloyalty, deliberate betrayal, or treason, especially for personal gain, for example through bribery.

  • this use to terrify me as a child :L

  • HELLO EVERYONE

  • If you float, what is so bad about chains?

  • @6000NoobTube They restrict your ability to move?

  • @6000NoobTube I think they were saying that they couldn't move on becasue of the chains.

  • Twenty eight people will be visited by three spirits!

  • @forlife01 well the first 2 arent too bad. the third one would make them shit their pants

  • @forlife01 except the ghost of christmas present. He's too kind, but they have to be visited by the ghost of christmas yet too come

  • This scene from A Christmas Carol convicts me no matter who is plays the part of Jacob Marley. We would be naive to think that hatred, violence, lust, pride, arrogance, and bullying aren't actions worthy of chains. Sure greed is, but I can't help but wonder what the marley's would sing to me if I had a Christmas Carol experience ...

We forge these chains in life .... (Eerie)

  • this was the subject of my nightmares when I was little.

  • @littlebandgeek14 Same here.

Some of the lines are a little dark for a Muppets movie.

  • @CloneWarrior001 And a variant for Commies and gays, blasphemers and whoremongers, but alas, sinners will find the truth too late! So read the Word of God! Only a fool would say there is no God. There is too much evidence. Creatures so complex, things so vast, and too many variables PROVE there was no Big Bang.We are more than monkeys my friends. We are a great creation ruined by the devil. Evil. So many are blind, so many want to blind others in their own blindness. So sad.

  • Why two Marleys? One was 2x as much needed.

  • @6000NoobTube Because Waldorf and Statler don't work without the other.

  • Haha this scene scared the shit out of me when I was a kid

  • @devildogwhite Yeah, same here!

  • doomed scrooge your doomed for All TIME

  • @AWESOME1509 that's my favorite part X3

  • Haha, I remember seeing this in english.

  • The Chains! The Chains!

  • I remember the look on the little tikes face with their frostbitten teddy bears! Lol one of my fave x-mas songs now.

  • I get it, Jacob Marley and Robert Marley. I bet Robert goes by Bob XD

  • I love how they're getting dragged away at the end. It's like someone said, "HEY! They were supposed to warn the guy, not do do a musical number! Get them out of there!"

  • @sora506

Sorry, I meant to "like" your comment but my mouse messed up!

  • Where's Batman when Alfred needs him?

  • Aren't avarice and greed the same thing?

  • @Cpt50Caliber Yes. I think Avarice and Greed were supposed to represent the two of them; they were both very greedy men. One was Avarice, the other Greed.

  • @hoshidoragon

    Fair enough :)

  • 1883 to be precise

  • 28 people have been dropped on there heads. this is great

  • Just for the record, teddy bears were invented in 1902, but A Christmas Carol was written in (I think) the late 1880s.

  • @stiggyjg thanks, we could all give a flying ....

  • this was one of my favorite christmas movies and im 12

  • only one Marley in the book

  • @mdb0890 Cool story bro.

  • @mdb0890 Yeah, well they've got to find a part for two old men! It's not a big deal!

  • thumbs up FOR K12

  • Waldorf still sounds wrong.

  • Statler and Waldorf are my favorite muppets :)

  • NB "averious" is not a word. it's "avarice"

  • It just isn't Christmas for me if I don't watch this movie. Have been watching it every single year since I was "little tyke". Best Christmas movie of them all! The Scrooge song is also awesome

  • 28 people are doomed for all time...

  • @ExSeptentrione we scoffed at the Mahnah- Mahnah, just cause it was coOOrny

  • I'm Tiny Tim in this play. Wish me luck!

  • @Mossful14 Does your crutch have an owner? I know Gordon Freeman does. It's the crowbar.

  • brill way to get a dark theme to kids!

  • 28 dues dead XD

  • suck it skeleton jack this is what christmas really is!

  • best xmas movie ever made :D

  • @atruebabe I totally agree,it really is a true masterpiece and by far the best version of this classic story ever made, even better than the one with Patrick stewart.

It just has everything you could want from a christmas movie and then some.

    The best muppet movie ever.

  • When Stadler and Waldorf yell "change" at the end, I always thought they were getting in one last heckle by making fun of his clothes! :)

  • @notablegoat I too thought it was change, but it is "chains".

  • 1:12 to 1:32 My favorite part.

  • @UltimateThanos Live your life by that.

  • @tn21beer True enough!

  • i have never seen the Christmas carol and have always loved this song since i first heard of it at primary school. Its absolutely gorgeous. Its just sooo cool!

  • This is the best xmas film ever, the part where scrooge's door knocker turned into a muppets head is still really creepy to me

  • This was my first Muppet movie and it kinda ruined my view of Statler and Waldorf. After watching it, I thought they were ALWAYS ghosts. So when I went to Muppet Vision 3D a few months after watching this the animatronics scared the sh*t out of me. My poor dad had to explain that they were just hecklers. Of course, I didn't understand that term so I remained scarred for 3 years straight.

  • 1:12 epic

  • We're Statler and Waldorf, cynicism and scorn

  • when i was younger i'd always hide under my quilt covers when marley and marley appear from the stairs loved the film though

  • They don't musicals anymore :/

  • Believe it or not, but this version of "Christmas Carol" is the most accurate for one specific reason: It's actually relatively scary. The original story was borderline Horror, and this is the only "Carol" that ever freaked me out.

  • @Nanaman12345 I thought the George C. Scott version was pretty scary.

  • "@MurrMurrtalks

    that is ok

it looks so much funneir with two marleys robert marley LOL!

  • I will tell you this, I don't mind seeing this movie, even if there are two Marley ghosts, while all the other ones had one. The movie "Ebbie" with Susan Lucci (from All my Children) has two ghosts of Christmas past as does the more recent "Bah Humduck", featuring Daffy Duck.

  • DOHOHOHOHOHO!

  • 26 people disliked this?!!

  • im thirteen and this scares the shit out of me

  • @MXMLongboarding I'm 12 and I think this is more epic than bacon.

  • This movie is by far the best version of this classic tale that has ever been made.

I always watch this around christmas because it is one of the very few things

that can put me in real christmas mood.

    A true christmas masterpiece.

  • he feeling of the dark side of seeing the two warn Scrooge the worst part of greed after life can forge the chains by what he say and do So, have your fun when life is done, a nightmare waits for you

  • My 2 friends will sing it on a christmas show :D

  • history never changes! DAMN the idiot who invented money!

  • @rad4life1 Money is not the start of evil. What about the idiot invented Communism? Are you a Christian? Anyway, before you answer the question, I would like to say humans are already evil without money. Money is just a psuedo-goal.

  • @6000NoobTube First of all, money has been around a lot longer than than the invention of Communism. And second, I will agree with you that the evil in humans exist on its own without money. Money can encourage it. No I am not Christian or any other type of religion, not Atheist either.

  • @6000NoobTube

Why does it matter if he is Christian just wondering.

  • Best song from the muppets christmas carol

  • After my dad and I watched this movie and this part of it, we kept singing Marly and Marly, OooowwoooO!! and then saying, um, Marly and Marly OoooowoooooO!

We always forgot the next line after Marly and Marly OoooooowoooooooO!!LOL!

  • the best!

  • Modern Marley = Morgan Stanley + Other Investment Banks.

  • This really brings back memory's

  • Who knew Scrooge would become Bruce Wayne's butler.

  • I remember how scared I was of the build up to this song. I still think it's a great piece though :D

  • Hey, it's that British actor from "The Dark Knight"!--uh--um...Christian Bale!

  • @BrotherAtticus Who gives a crap! He fought Terminators. That is AWESOME.

  • Btw I know a few people have said this is really scary for kids.. last Christmas, my Dad and I sat my 4 year old nephew through this. He wasn't scared of this song, not in the slightest. The only thing he was scared of was Scrooge's old headmaster. Forgotten the name now but I found that amusing xD

  • Do the lyrics have any basis in the book? Because they are very haunting, especially for a kid's movie.

  • 26 are dead

  • To those that live with soiled tongues, feast on discrimination, and generally inflict pain, let this video be your warning. But anyway, great job and thanks for putting this up.

  • "Your chains are forged but what you say and do. So have your fun, when life is done a nightmare waits for you". <-- THAT is deep.

  • 4 many years i actually thought "Robert Marley" was a real character in the original.

  • cane must have cracked up at least once man! just lost it!

  • seriously if that were to happened to me i would pee on the spot and run for some kind of shelter.

  • This song describes the US housing market quite good, dont you think ?

I think we dont have enough ghosts if every bankster needs 3.

  • to the 26 who dislike u will be haunted by three sprites !! MHAHHAhah XD

  • This freaked me the fuck out as a kid.

  • @Fullmetal1890P it freaked me out too

  • @mop7164 Me aswell

  • Now THIS was a movie. The Muppets were always geared toward kids but they weren't afraid to make a movie that successfully scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.

  • @FreakinSweet1987 I hear ye, This part always scared the shiz outta me to :P

  • well my cusin is six years old and he loves that song like me as well and sometimes we are singing the one in front the other marley and marley wooooooooooow

  • this reminds me of the head ans depty head of my old school

  • I think you spelled Avarice Wrong...

  • It used to confuse the FUCKING HELL out of me that there was two of them. Only now years later am I seeing the symbolism.
