  • "Tennessee Teardrops" song for the Nashville Rising Event !

please utube the Red Cross fund raising song!

  • What's worse than seeing this is now seeing the mountains of debris on the streets that was once people's lives. With 4-6 feet of water in homes, most lost everything they owned. Clothes, furniture, appliances, electronics, not to mention carpets, drywall, flooring, cabinets, interior doors. It's a big mess. The flood pictures don't do it justice. Tens of thousands of lives were affected by this storm. Media or not, Tennesseans are helping Tennesseans and we will all rebuild.

  • @rockinredneck57 That is unreal when you think about how much water damages.. i dont know which is worse Flooding damage or tornado damage.. i would say both are pretty destructive, but this was a huge scale this happened on normally you wouldnt see flooding across such a wide area.. from memphis to nashville.. we all got hit pretty hard.. i hope it creates jobs, and helps renew the community instead of destorying it..

  • @willyboxc I've been working with a cleaning and restoration crew since the storm and I now think if I had a choice between having my house flooded with 4-6 feet of water and having a tornado take it away, I'd choose the tornado. It's over quicker and doesn't leave as big of a mess afterward. We get plenty of our share of tornadoes around here as well and having had a good friend have his house taken by one, I wouldn't wish either one on anybody. They are both scary and messy and expensive.

  • I live in Granbury, Texas. I have an Aunt and Uncle that live on Gen. George Patton. They too lost everything. Thanks for your reply. I was just heartbroken when I watched all this happening. They are living with relatives in other parts of Nashville now.

  • @ladytexan48 Well i hate to hear that they are def in our prayers i put up on my website a collection for the people for the flood to buy We Are Nashville tshirts for the flood victims compva do.t com it is nice how ALL of nashville is pulling together tho!

  • @ladytexan48 Little late on the reply, but I was stuck at a friends house on Gen. George Patton. We lucked out and were in one of the few houses that didn't get flooded out... but only by inches. The water stopped literally a couple of inches away from his doorstep. It was a relief... but then you look a few feet away and see that the houses next door had 3-4' of water inside. You feel glad that your okay... but then you look around and see that everyone else lost everything. It was surreal.

  • The national media is more concerned about Derek Jeters herpes tree than peoples lives, fucking hollywood cocksuckers.

  • This global warming stuff is stupid. Cut the Al Gore crap. Record cold in some places this winter.

This just MIGHT have something to do with a once in a hundred years flood AND the fact that runoff has increased due to the loss of permeable surface area.

We had something VERY similar in "Atlanta" last September.

I know. I was there. The heavens were opened and the water RAN off the hard surfaces like rivers.

  • .

Severe and bizarre weather will become more frequent and more intense as a direct result of increased heat and moisture in the atmosphere.

    .

    climateprogress. org/category/extreme-weather

    .

People drowned in their cars -- which is very sad but also ironic. It's time to stop burning fossil fuels.

    .

This was another wake up call.

  • I can not BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE WOULD EVEN DARE TO SAY THAT GOD DONE THIS TO US BECAUSE OF HOMOPHOBIA! MAYBE YOU SHOULD READ THE BIBLE YOU IDIOT...I HAVE READ IT AND I KNOW WHAT IT VERY CLEARLY SAYS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALS! I FEEL FOR YOU ON YOUR JUDGEMENT DAY! AND TO EVERYONE IN ALL OF TENNESSEE GOD BLESS! WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS AND OVERCOME THIS

  • @laceanne89 i know what he said was very "off" but try to dismiss it as misinformation and dont let it upset you and let your joy become stolen, and start throwing words like idiot around ;)

  • @laceanne89

You idiot yank STFU. People still believe in the bible? Its 2010 for crap sakes, give it up

  • I love Nashville, but I wonder if God is judging Nashville for all of it's homophobia. Nashville creates more homophobia in this country than any single city. I pray God continues to show this great city mercy. I pray that all of Nashville sees that God loves all people. We are all sinners and will be judged for sinning. Even those who judge their neighbors instead of loving them. We pray Nashville will recover and stop judging the rest of us. This is why the media doesn't tell your story.

  • @OutoftheClosetTV Um... God and peoples view's of Homosexuality are going to be very touchy to people who study Christianity because I know I've read the new testament, and it is very clear about homosexuality as well as other sins.. now im not going to get into a religious debate, but the flood, and Gods intentions for it are not for me or anyone else to ponder God's meaning and I doubt you should get from this that "the flood happened because god is judging nashville for all of its homophobia"

  • @OutoftheClosetTV I think we tend to forget that God is not the cause. God is realized in the love and commitment seen as everyone pulls together to help thier neighbors. We tend to forget that God is who helps us through our pearls. Remember "Foot Prints in the Sand".

  • @315claudia great post

  • i was watchin this at that time.! and theres poor shoneys and regal! :o and my family was gonna move to that area. thank goodness we didnt.

  • WHY HAS it not flown over your land and given condolences....who or what is obbamma boy..supposed to be our president..does it care about us...even if it is a muslim..butt up in the air

  • @trianglepoints I think the President and the state of Tennessee has done a great job, as a middle TN resident I am very happy to say that this has really pulled the state together we dont see floods like this ever..... for unemployed it is putting a lot of people to work.. It is a very big tragic thing though that many people will feel the affects of for a long, long time though..

  • @willyboxc . I agree. Obama haters are even debunked by Fox News: . tiny (dot) cc/TN-flood-obama . "I've never seen this kind of response," said Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen (D), "and we've had our share of tornadoes and so forth." . "FEMA and the White House could not have been more helpful in this thing," Bredesen said. . After speaking with the governor Monday, President Obama signed a disaster declaration for the state Tuesday, sending federal aid to Tennessee to help supplement the ...
  • ... state and local recovery efforts.

"FEMA was on the ground before the rain drops fell," said Bredesen, who noted he'd not only spoken to Mr. Obama, but Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano and Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett. "We're very pleased with the response we've gotten from the administration."

Bredesen agreed it would be counter-productive for the president to come down south in the first days following the storm, as so many resources are needed to accommodate a presidential visit.

  • Have Questions? Need Answers? - visit public service org website at NashvilleFlood - kind of like Yahoo Answers. Public Service for Nashville / Middle Tennessee for those who have questions / answers about the flood. Also has a video blog segmented by geographic regions of Middle Tennessee.

  • Our Family's hearts are breaking, folks do not yet know the horrors that await them as this disaster, the Tennessee Flood 2010, recedes.

  • Good sky footage

20 inches of rain in 2 days when the annual avg is 48

    The flooding is unbelievable.

  • @Yoetah I heard on the news last night we beat the all time rain totals in a month.. we set an ALL TIME record.. for rain in a month ever....

  • Willy, yeah... the debris is piled in people's yards.

Opryland and other businesses are wrecked. It's not just Nashville either. I have friends who live in Ashland city. Their tractor was under 6' water but they did manage to save the horses.

It's a economic disaster for TN.

It pales in comparison to the crisis in the Gulf. Just found out why they're having such trouble fixing the gush. The methane gas that's being released freezes forming crystals clogging lines used to siphon the oil.
