I have a question, is it disrespectful to you and your religion if a bellydancer's last name happens to be "Habiballah"? I am asking this because in my country we view dance as art which praises the Lord, not as something profane, and I was told it is different in your culture.

well yes..when you have a girl belly dancing you are supposed to be modest and that is not. you are flaunting your body and that is not respectful especially if it is in front of men. If it is just women, it is ok.

In my opinion belly dancing is a disgusting exploitation of a womans body,degrading of her soul,and deprivation of her honour. it's very degrading, hidden behind a screen of art and culture. A muslim woman wearing the hijab is recognised as a modest woman. please don't use 'praising the lord' as an excuse just to get half naked and dance to please a crowd of men/women. Allah has told women to preserve their dignity, modesty and integrity. it is VERY disrespectful
