It says in the novel that they all had dark shadows under their eyes, like recovering from a broken nose. Sorry for interpreting the novel in my own way.

and in the last one (breaking dawn) when bella goes to j.jenks. and she meets max and hes talk to j. jenks he explains her appearance by saying she looks like she needs a good sleep which would indicate that she has dark circle under her eyes...like all vampires do!
