  • This is the Greatest album no one ever heard. Great Prog Rock

  • play crack the sky

  • I Crack The Sky back in the 70's. They opened for Blue Oyster Cult at the Philadedelphia Spectrum. The next day I bought Safety In Numbers. Most incredible band!!!!

  • Great band and great songs. Still have one to the best intro's of all time on their live album; "This band has come all the way down from a acid trip just to play for you. Please welcome Crack The Sky."

  • Amazing song. These guys were geniuses

  • Another shining example of why the '70's had the best music. PERIOD.

  • Beatiful songs from Crack The Sky!

  • Saw cts in 77 in Asbury Park Nj as a warm up band for BEbop deluxe.....bbd was not my fav that nite cts stole the show!!!!

  • fav CTS song

  • I saw them at Hammerjacks, years ago 80s. I listened to them in the 70s. I lived in Atlanta at the time. Unheard of. Great group.

  • Damb i love CTS. Does anybody remember after Palumbo left the band they called themselves No Heroes. They did that cause before Palumbo left to do his solo stuff all the other members said come on man we dont need no heroes. I remember seeing them at the Sand Bar in Pasadena. And they always opened with a song called No Heroes. Good times and good memories.

  • The first time I heard this band was with friends on the beach in Pasadena, MD-- I really liked the music and lyrics then...I just want to say thanks for the great memories of that time. Thanks for the music that just seem right for the time.

  • 1977 HCC Little Feat early day,s remember Monger. Climb a Donkey?

  • I can't get enough of the clean percussion. vocals are like an early alice in chains.

  • brand new and the safety in numbers split was amazing.

  • A great Crack the Sky tune not written by John Palumbo. It shows that the band could come up with material without their former main writer and make a great arrangement to lift the song.

  • I saw them open up for Robert Palmer at the Tower Theater in Philly. They did "Safety in Numbers" album plus all their other good songs. What a great concert. Palmer did his "Double Fun" album. I think I paid $10 tops $15 for the ticket. The good old days.

  • This was a Great Album from a Great Band....very underated overall...Shame because it was AND is So good............Loved these guys Live too.............

  • Classic Crack! Palumbo and Witkowski have a legion of fans in Idaho now. (I'm a Balto boy myself and have great memories of them playing at CCC in 78?

  • I can't swear this happened, but I would like to believe it did.I saw Crack The Sky in 76,77,78? open up for ? (can't remember been so long ago) at Phillys Spectrum and they did this song for an encore.I could have sworn John Lennon came out and sang it with them.Does anyone know if this happened?

  • Well, those were quite hazy days. I am positive that they did a cover of "I Am The Walrus"

  • @allnightjohnson An awesome cover of "I Am The Walrus" they definitely did.

  • yes this did happen blue oyster cult headlined and john joined in for crack the sky,s encore of Im the walrus wearing a white suite mem ory can be a bitch.

  • Super band!Met the guys at Towson State College .We had a gig that same night.

Brings back lots of good memories!

  • Ah, the vivid memories this brings back. Incredible. Thank you so much for posting this. Damn The Man if they target this.

  • great song, really takes me back. It was really ahead of its time. Think about what was being played in 1977, 78...nothing like this

  • This reminds me of my childhood, the late 70's, early 80's and my dad. Thannks for posting....

  • thanks for posting this song brings me back to times i had a kid with my late brother

  • thank you for uploading this great song

  • A lot of hardcore C.T.S. fans trash this lp , but i have always enjoyed it . This track is especially great . Thanks for posting

  • Although it was a departure from their previous "jam out" material, "Safety In Numbers" was chock full of great songs. I thought it was a terrific album, too!

  • good song...
