Oddly enough, years later I'd learn that this theme was used for all GI Joe episode showings on USA, even Sunbow's episodes.
It's a shame, too, because I thought this themesong was the pinnacle of bad-ass. Now I know the awful truth. ;~;

This show was crap. There was nothing mature about this show. It loosely followed the orignial continuity. This show was a watered down kiddie show. "Metal Head's Reunion" is a prime example of that. look it up.
All cartoons after 1990 were neutered. Parents complained about all the violence on tv. that's why this and many other cartoons of the 90's all seems childish. It still continues to this day. Transformers: Armada and Robots in Disguize was bastardized to something even more innane than Beastwars

the music is tight!!! i dunno why some people were bashing the DiC version. i enjoyed it. the characters were more interesting and the stories where more mature. i especially enjoyed metal head and all those ninjas.
