  • Liliuokalani Assignment. Excetutive Agreement entered into by the Hawaiian Kingdom and the United States, providing for the restoration of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Nuff said...

  • @Hawnguy100 Your correct. So the Akaka bill is nothing but another piece of paper. I agree.

  • @Hawnguy100 Regardless, in 1897 90% of Hawaiians and Hawaiian Nationals were "against" annexation (re: ku`e petitions) but the provisional government made a joint resolution through the u.s. Hawaiians never consented to the so called annexation of Hawai`i.

  • TAYLOR LAUTNER 2:17 !

  • Don't believe the Media, it's ruled and filtered by the new world order who spew lies upon lies each and everyday hypnotizing the masses.

do independent investigations, and educate yourself on the issue.

  • How will it affect Hawaii if Obama signs the bill?

  • If it is just rhetoric...and it is, if we know we are occupied...the Akaka bill is nothing but a piece of paper...Mahalo for this video...very informative..and sad that most of those people didn't have a clue of what it is...

  • @uhstudent07 it won't change a thing for the state of Hawaiians, it doesn't protect us from anything. There were no hearings done throughout the islands on the bill, all the amendments to the bill have been done behind closed doors. The bill has changed from the original intent and doesn't give us even the right to be independent.

  • I am not saying forget the past, I am saying move forward. The African Americans have. This country was founded on blood. Hawaiians had it easy compaired to the Native Americans. Maybe there should be a Reservation for Hawaiian people? But then that would be another argument. There is nothing you can do about the past. It is gone and will never come back. But you can try your best to live the best you can in life. Carpe Diem.

  • Yes, we will move forward and assert our Native (Kanaka Maoli) rights to this land...and we are doing it already. How offensive for you to say there should be a reservation for Hawaiian people...we are not indians....what part of this video did you not get? Apparently you didn't even watch it. The past will set us free...this is not an argument...it is the facts...

  • So there is violence and the "Haoles" spread the word and slowly but surely the once popular vacation spot is now rated #12. Hell Mexico beat out Hawaii an their educational system is just a tad bit lower then Hawaii. What would you do with your own Nation? Would you kick everyone out and revert to the old days? You would phase yourself out in 1 generation...

  • Hitting the educational system in Hawaii isn't a valid target in addressing the sovereignty demanded by a few radical Hawaiian groups, may I remind you, president-elect Barack Obama was educated at Punahou High School in Hawaii. Also, generally speaking a lot of other educational programs are not all that great in the United States period, in comparison to the, i don't know, the world.

  • Okay, complete sovereignty in Hawaii may not happen anytime soon (I will not deny possibilities nor do I agree to those conditions, but it could happen), but please educate yourself on the current political actions to give Hawaiians a governing entity, (D) Sen. Daniel Akaka's bill, Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act and also, Obama supports the bill.

  • I mean really... what would happen to Hawaii if it was their own nation? I mean...really. You are saying that you could self sustain your way of life with no outside intervention? What would your cash cow be to keep the nation happy and thriving? Right now Hawaii is 100% tourest driven and it is declining at an anual 12% due to the fact that the "Hawaiians" dont want "Haoles" in the islands...

  • Although, some Hawaiians do not support the bill, it's a matter of pride and how the land is being retrieved or given back, from the people I talked to and read articles in regards to the Akaka Bill, is that Hawaii is still recognized as the Kingdom of Hawaii (a nation) so why should they be called indigenous by the definition stated in the bill. As well as other things. I do believe that Hawaiians can live sustainably, check out Moloka'i although I would be concerned about like water.

  • Hawaiians can be a great part of the socio economical realm and by the way, don't expect us to go back to having no computers because we have learned to use them. That is a fantasy of yours that we will all go back to living in grass shacks...get your mind out of the gutter..there are hawaiian scholars as you see here on the video...or did you watch it....seems like you have not...

  • Yes, I agree, Hawaii should become a free nation again, but how does a "socio economical realm" create wealth?

Tourists are hated, any kind of industry would ruin the land even if it was feasible, and I think the estimate for food lasting was 6 days without imports. Without an economy how will you feed yourself let alone have computers?

  • As for me, Ive been to your island several times for vacation, but after seeing all the hate Ill spend my money elsewhere (Switzerland was amazing). Like they say If you dont like it, go back to the mainland. I did.

  • @voglbop the aloha spirit is alive, but, it's not always available to disrespectful people. If you are going to say that you will spend your money elsewhere, so be it. And REALLY, YOU HAVE, LIKE YOU SAID, ONLY BEEN HERE FOR VACATION. So how much do you really know about Hawaii-u.s. history? Don't come back, please.

  • @kapuaalabk

Yes, Ive read all about the Queen & the greedy missionaries. Ive also read many stories about whites facing racism there. I also remember meeting a white girl that grew up in Hawaii. She told me that white kids were picked on for being white. This girl was quite, respectful & kind. No aloha for her, she was white.

I know there are small town redneck jerks everywhere, Hawaii just seems to have more. Free Hawaii? Yes please. Free it from the fed money & my tax paying wallet.

  • The Hawaiian people VOTED to become a United state! what the people want the people get! they have the final word, and the word was said! ENOUGH!!!

  • For the most part if since we know we are occupied...by your country...it would be none of your business...did you hear...Maoris from New Zealand are part of the socio economical structure..we have hawaiians who are doctors, teachers, lawyers, policemen, all these professions...and we can run our own nation. We would diversify in everything we do instead of rely only on tourism...that would be dumb...

  • I think that Intent of the Akaka Bill was good but it has since become a watered down farce which others on the outside are determining what we should do and who we are which is Wrong!!! also wrong, our people cant all come together and agree on something to protect our culture, people, and way of life, we bicker to much on who has more Hawaiian blood, whose darker etc. Cant we just all come to the fact that yes we all are Hawaiian and we have a problem we have more strength in numbers!

  • What will Hawaii be like after the bill is passed?

  • @uhstudent07 If the bill passes, Hawai`i will continue to be occupied by the occupiers.

  • @uhstudent07 If the bill passes, Hawai`i will continue to be occupied by the occupiers.

    :(

  • Interesting but false. Hawai'i wasn't kidnapped by the U.S. The monarchy was overthrown by Hawaiian citizens. The majority may have been descended by U.S. citizens, but neverthless, they were citizens of the Hawaiian monarchy. The overthrow was a coup d'ètat. The apology resolution of 1993 is illegal.

  • The Hawaiian Kingdom is occupied. It's no surprise that people don't know the content of the Akaka bill, it has been revised so much. At least one Hawaiian on the video new the content of the Akaka bill and interpreted it correctly. We don't agree to be under the Department of the interior.

  • You need to go to the Archive and Read about the US involvement in the overthrowing of Hawaiian kingdom in 1893. It is a shame that you blamed Hawaiians for overthrowing Hawaiian kingdom when you know Hawaii is a US state.

Why would the US congress ordered US Marine Warships to Hawaii on the eve of the annexation? The apology to Hawaii is legal and it should be more than an apology!

  • Read what I wrote, the overthrow was conducted by Hawaiian "citizens". These citizens, born and raised in Hawai'i, were of caucasian decent but nevertheless, they were Hawaiian citizens. US Naval ships were stationed to Hawai'i on a regular basis. The U.S. Navy did not participate in the overthrow, therefore the 1993 Apology Resolution is illegal.

  • Who you to teach me the history of Hawaii? The Senate was debating whether to overthrow the kingdom of Hawaii or not. There was general consensus to leave Hawaii alone until the US/Spanish war. Sugarcane planters even brought their demands to the Congress as they were American citizens as well!

Hawaii seen as a strategic permanent base for the US Navy/Marines who were fighting the Spaniards in the Philippines. Yes, Navy ships stopped over in Hawaii as approved by the Kingdom!

  • Wait I thought the U.S. marines that were landed by the U.S. and aided in the overthrow were U.S. citizens. Are you sure they were Hawaiian too?

  • ejesabury. false according to your own analogy. The Hawaiians didn't over throw their own kingdom..our people weren't involved so we are all still here and alive and well..does that irritate you? good. Hawaii is occupied and it's time to face the truth...the US has no business here. or in Iraq or anywhere else in the world that they are creating genocide.

  • US armed these Sugarcane planters who were Americans themselves who overthrew the kingdom of Hawaii. On eve of Annexation, the US government announced that the US Marines/Navy ships were sent to Hawaii to "protect the US interest (citizens)". When the Queen called her advisers to her chamber, she was told by these assholes she was done!

Ironically, the supposedly neutral assholes (US Navy) hoisted the AMERICAN FUCKEN FLAG! and lowered the Hawaiian flag.

  • He's not saying Hawai'i is kidnapped; i believe that he is using it as a metaphor!

Keanu Sai probably knows more about Hawaiian History than you do!

  • He didn't say Hawai'i was kidnapped? You believe he was using a metaphor? The he should choose his words wisely in order to not mislead people about what had happened in our history. That's what revisionist historians do in order to "prove" their point. They mislead instead of confronting the truth.

  • Well done! I'm glad Keanu explained it in layman's terms too.

  • Akaka votes to give over 20million illegal aliens legal status! One of the worst Senator grades given by NumbersUSA.

Is our unemployment rate that good here in Hawaii that you want to give our jobs away? Akaka bill good,

    voting record for illegals sucks

  • Howzit ....excellent video brah...but I think that I am not trill with the street interview and some editing...but still good video and subject.

  • It's wonderful to see the so-called "beneficiaries" of the Akaka bill stepping forward to say they oppose the bill. Last year there were Senators who said they were not aware of "Native Hawaiian" opposition to the Akaka bill. It's time to make them aware. I think the reasons most ethnic Hawaiians, and most of Hawai'i's people, oppose the Akaka bill can be found at tinyurl dot com slash yhhz7o

  • Its about time this venue is used to expose the american lie about Hawaii our country. So what part of stolen don't we understand today? Great video! Check the information and look at other videos on youtube like Free Hawaii. Aloha Aina

  • Great Job! There are no beneficiaries under the Akaka bill, only victims. For more info on the dangers of the Akaka bill, visit Free Hawaii TV.
