Wow, when they say arcade ports on the Dreamcast are incredibly accurate, they're certainly right. As for the run, is it intended to use the best line or only show off the shortcuts? Cause on a time trail for the N64 version that I saw, they didn't use any of the shortcuts.

Question for the uploader, but the trains in my Rush 2049 disappeared. The trolleys and bullet trains no longer appear in my game.

I don't know. Maybe because it's the N64 version and you have an N64 without an expansion pak...?

when you first got this was it hard to play on the dreamcast for a wile because i have the n64 version (and beat it) and i want a dreamcast and this version

No... The 2 versions are practically the same. If anything, the Dreamcast is easier because it plays smoother and everything just looks so much cleaner.

so thats the reason ,id never thought of that ,i play in single race instead of free run because when using the abort you sort of get push forward a lil bit ,btw do you use extreme handling?and pro slicks

It depends on the track... If I remember right, I used plain Radials mostly.

But for Civic, Metro, and Mission(backward), it was Off-Roads.

ProSlicks really suck whenever you go off the "asphalt"...They might work somewhere. It just seemed the benefit wasn't worth the effort, IMO.

I used EXTREME handling for my best times on: Marina-(fwd), Haight-(bck), & Presidio-(fwd).

Everywhere else was Advanced.

And here's another little secret...

Use the plain LIGHT frame... NOT the Light Alloy...

my time is very similar to yours(single lap) but the record at cyberscore is about 3 second faster so we might be missing a shorcut or the guy cheated

Not really...The "fastest lap" can be recorded from the Single Race mode. The problem with that mode is it has a built in handicap that can be exploited. If you race against an opponent and fall behind a ways, you're given extra speed to 'catch up'. So what you do is turn drones on, let them lap you, then haul ass for 1 full lap with that extra speed. I was able to get 1:07 this way. So it's kinda misleading. That's why Ghost mode is the truest test of skill for race times.

Ive got it for the N64. Ive done mid 1:18's going backwards without using shortcuts. My best average is in the high 1:19's

It's in Ghost Race mode as opposed to Single Race or Practice (after selecting players). In Ghost Race, the switches are removed, as well as any obstacles such as the windmill on this track (0:26 to 0:30). Notice how it's not moving.
