@orbituganda This will be my first attempt at this sauce and fufu. Usually my little sister or mother cooks the fufu and my mom makes the red stew. I wanted to try something different and this sauce sounds like the way to go. I hope I do it justice!
I make mine slightly different from yours, I add quite a bit of cayenne pepper. I sprinkle the raw chicken with salt pepper and cayenne pepper. also I add cayenne to the pot. When the oils start to rise up, I stir it back in and add more cayenne. I just recently start adding habanero. I dice it and add at the beginning stage when the onions and garlic is sauted. Your way, or my way
Thank you so much!! Love your recipe!! looks sooooooooo delicious. can I use normal peanut butter? (american or dutch) or is the real african peanut butter better? i don't know any afro-shops here nearby. =(
@Chorongi Hi :) Real African groundnut (peanut) "butter", consists of finely ground nuts. As long as "peanutbutter" does not have "strange" additives like sugar & the like, it should do. I'm sure what you find in your stores will do, if not check out some Asian food shops. I hope you like the sauce. Some feedback?
Thanks for a truly authentic Ugandan recipe. I am an African-American living in Washington D.C. and my family of 6 loved this recipe. Thanks again. I give this one two thumbs up.
I just loved this recipe. Thanks a lot!!!

I add coconut milk instead of water to mine. Gosh, this recipe is similar to a Carribean dish.
