FYI, not anymore... in the 1950s up til these day, they're becoming more indianized in a way that more and more immigrant from india, pakistan and bangladesh flooding in and married the locals. The locals "digs" the indians very much, especially the muslim indians.... until a point where their descendent claim to be MALAY. That is kinda sad.... eventhough we're being 1 nation in this country.

bahasa melayu itu sendiri asalnya diambil dari bahasa Autronesian (maaf kalo salah eja )dan bahasa melayu juga mempunyai era yang tersendiri.
bahasa melayu yang asal dari sumatra adalah bahasa melayu kuno.
tapi bahasa melayu moden asalnya dari bahasa melayu yang diguna ketika era melaka hingga ke riau dan masih digunakan.

Mamula Moon was composed in year 1947 by Felix Mendelssohn and Terang Bulan was played much earlier in 1887 during the installation of King Edward VII. So obviously MAMULA MOON was a “CIPLAK!”

The origin of "Negaraku" is Indonesian folk song "Terng Bulan" that was very popular around 1918 during Dutch colonial period.
No record that Felix Mendelssohn composed that Asiatic tune.

had requested the government of seychelles to procure the lyrics of la rosalie.
in 1964, the governor (the seychelles were still under the british then) replied and
reaffirmed that the tune was recognised by some of the elderly populace,
and provided the words (see lyric) to the song, which was still hummed at that time.

It was a french song long before it was an indonesian and malaysian song. It was Pierre Jean de Beringer's work and not a native tune.
As for Mamula moon, the west, through the hawaiian seranaders tend to create a westernized version of terang bulan, stressing the moon.
But anyway, that's what the sultan of Perak's idea of using Beringer's tune as an anthem for his kingdom.

The locals "digs" the indians very much, especially the muslim indians.... until a point where their descendent claim to be MALAY. bagi aku.. aku demand tukar lagu Negaraku... dahla bendera pun 'hampir' nak sama dgn bendera... nikan plak lagu... aku x bangga... kalo korang buleh buat pertandigan lagu 1Malaysia.. apa kata buat pertandingan lagu Kebangsaan yg baru... sbb kalo dasar2 negar boleh di gubal begitu sahaja sekarang nie.. kenapa tidak boleh yg ini?? sebelum anak cucu kita menangung malu akibat atok moyang kita... sila lah TUKAR....

so the music we r listening now is by Felix Mendelssohn & His Hawaiian Serenaders in their album Paradise Isle in 1947....

melodi blh tercipta sama kerana yg buat adlh manusia..cuma berbeza tempat dan masa je..so its not a big deal if our anthem similar with this song..what most important how u as m'sian appreciated our anthem rather than fighting about where our anthem is coming from..be matured la ckit..!!!

To slifergold, mana ko tau lagu negaraku dicipta 1888???dari sejarah??boleh pakai ke sejarah tu??sedangkan sejarah "holocaust" pun israel boleh reka (klu ko tahu ah)..one more thing, xde keje barat nak copy lagu2 dari asia, terutama malaysia. Mereka lebih maju time tuh dari kita. Aku cakap benda2 ni pun sebab aku warga malaysia, yg malu atas pemimpin2 terdahulu..
