  • Great perform, I'm glad to find you again on Youtube.

  • lose the hat man--your not a cowboy for sure--and you did not do this song justice.

  • good job buck !

  • @jwprewett Thanks so much, I have a newer version.

  • So many people attribute htis song to Willie Nelson. He did.nt even sing rhe second verse. Roy Acuff was the first. I like that bit at the end. He tells it like it is

  • @Jazzbonick Thanks when I contribute a song to a singer in is only in the sense that they have the most memorable or perhaps biggest hit with a song. I rarely going into the history of a song. The song was actually written by Fred Rose.

  • It would be much better whitout the electronics, the guy can sing. But he should start looking like he enjoys it as well!!

  • hold a sec.wasn't the ;ylyric goes as " in the twilight glow"..???

  • nice1 dude^^

  • Thanks very much I have a new version.

  • Willie should be proud Buck! I'm always listening........The Captain......

  • Appreciate that very much, I have an updated version of this one. Thanks.

  • No ned to read betwen the lines! There is a second verse, which Willie didn't record. (But most others before him did.) It's too bad, because most people leave it out, now.

Now my hair has turned to silver

All my life I've loved in vain

I can see her star in heaven

Blue eyes crying in the rain

  • Well that is cool, did Roy Acuff include that verse?

  • Yes, and Hank did, too.

  • wonderful job, but your comments failed to mention a little version by Hank Williams Sr, but nevertheless, you are amazing on that guitar, thanks for a wonderful listen

  • Thanks, I think EVERY country artist have covered this song over the years so it is hard to mention them all. I show 19 in my database.

  • Thank`s Buck from Finland!

  • Thanks for listening.

  • Hey Buck, I love your version!5*

  • Thanks so much, I have slowed it down a little since this one will be posting it again before too long.

  • Great job Buck! This song was written by Fred Rose way back in the 40s I believe. Hank Sr. recorded it as well, and it has been just recently released. But ole Willie certainly made it his own.

  • Thanks so much.

  • one of the best version on youtube 10/10 you was amazing thank you

  • That was great Buck, I enjoyed it very much... FrAnK (5*****)

  • Thanks Frank.

  • BC-you and Shirley sure opened a can of worms on this one. My OPINION- The two lovers were parting due to circumstances beyond their control and she was crying in the rain because they were having to part. Much like, for example, he having to go to war. He felt that they would never meet again in this life but they would in the next one. Fred Rose wrote the song and Acuff was the first one to record it, as you said. 5 stars and thanks.

  • Hi Marc, that sounds as good as any other. There is so much to read between the lines. I will use you explanation.

  • Another smooth song Buck..I enjoyed. Sherry (5*)

  • Thanks Sherry appreciate the comment and listen.

  • Say

    Buck..

A country song with an open-ended conclusion...to be drawn by the listener...was the intention behind this one. It is fairly common in musicology as the composer wants the listener to be an integral part of the story. Here you have perfomed this old gem to the max.

    Peace,

    Stewball

  • Kind of like who will stop the Rain huh? Good song regardless.

  • Boy they sure left this one to the imagination. You know I bet I have heard this song a 1,000 times and never thought about

    what it meant. Shirley

  • Well I listened again and I still don't know why she's crying in the rain, but I love the song.Maybe he died, went to heaven and was thinking this! Crazy theory, huh? Don't know. Shirley

  • Maybe so, I have found that some of the best song writers don't always come out and say everything. They leave some things to the imagination.

  • Guess I've been listening without listening,LOL. I'll have to really listen and try to figure it out.Shirley

  • LOL, well it is clear a girl is crying but why? And why is he not going to see here until they "meet" up yonder.

  • I love your version of this song,Buck. You do a great job. Thank you for sending me this.

    5*****'s Shirley

  • Thanks very much Shirley. This is a great old song although I really don't have a clue what it is about, it doesn't really say does it?
