Hi! I worked at s.n.a.f.u. and remember your brother well. My first gig in New York was there. I was playing guitar for a friend of Lou's, Patti Ramelli, who you may know from SF. Lou Pianted me at that show. I also worked at s.n.a.f.u. and hung out with Lou quite a bit. I have several stories with Lou in them. It was great to watch him paint. I often think of him.
@wyry thank you so much for your comments! What was the painting Lou did of you, do you know the title he used or maybe you have the painting! If so I would love to see a pic of it. If you are also on facebook, we have a fan page and a group dedicated to Lou and his work and life. S.n.a.f.u. Was a great place, Lou took me there when I visited him in NYC a few times in the early 80's. There is not a day that he is not missed! Regards, Lou's sister.
Lou Rudolph was my brother. So excited to have found this video today! I have several of his Ethyl paintings, which of course are AWESOME!

It was Lou Friedman who owned the club. Lou Rudolph the painter. All 3 are gone now. What a tragic loss yet what joy to see them here and remember

Does anyone know who the pianist was? It kinda looks like the late Chris Clements!
