Sirhalos over on TON said he has an easier time with a matte finish. Next expensive oc I get (which will be a Focalink) will have a matte finish on the mouthpiece. But for now, I ordered that compact double. I can't wait to try it. :-)
I wonder if a dusting of cornstarch on the mouthpiece would help? I'll have to try that tomorrow.
The transverse double is a pain in the butt for switching chambers, but I'm very new at using it. The entire right hand has to shift positions, not just the finger, so while you're going up notes toward the higher chamber, you're juggling this heavy ocarina around so that you don't miss a beat and getting ready to play the higher notes. Mine has a high gloss finish and makes the mouth piece stick to the lips and slows me down when I switch chambers. But I'm getting better at compensating.
I'm so glad you made these videos. I think this is the ocarina to get for my daughter so she can play Clock Town with me in the right key instead of on a single chamber oc.
I hope she enjoys it! It really is fun to play. I can only imagine that it is a bit more difficult than a transverse double (I have never played a transverse double), since switching chambers you ALWAYS have to change all your fingerings, (unless you go up an entire octave... heh).
great job dude

Thank you!
I should probably practice more before I make a video... I am much better at playing this song now than I was when I made it.
I highly recommend this oc to anyone and everyone. :)

I have the exact same problem with the mouthpiece sticking to my lips when I try to switch chambers. It is very frustrating!

Thanks. :)
yea, the microphone on my camera is not very good, so it doesn't take much to over-power it.
