Hey can you help me my (Gateway E4300 Desktop Computer Motherboard "Foxconn") main chip (the big one) is dead (it gets heat up and my cpu restart by itself after 10 - 20 sec) i have replaced motherboard but If there is a way to Fix this problem PLEASE HELP ME I NEED MY OLD MOTHERBOARD plzzz..
You have been working all day i guess thats why it was a success . And wear some boots cause you dont wanna get an electric shock , i sew the wires were just at an inch with your foot.
Thanks for the vid. I'm preparing to do the same repair. I can barely see the solder joints, did you use a magnifying glass when reflowing or something? And also, what size soldering iron tip did you use?
never close or open the monitor with laptop working, motherboard is super hot and hinges cause flexion in chip area, wait until laptop is off and cold to close.
Sounds like good advice. Not always practical. Like if your in a meeting and it ends. You can't say I'm just going to wait for this to cool off. Go on without me. I'll catch up. But when possible it's not a bad idea.
I sometimes adjust the screen just to see it better, depending if I'm going from sitting to laying down. Or leaning in. You should be able to close the lid anyhow. It should just be more rigid to compensate for the hinge stiffness. It should be something that is considered is addressed. It's a design flaw and doesn't occur with other laptops like it does with this one.( to the point of being easily Googled about).
It's a common problem with the ic chip in this HP computer. It's been well documented on the internet. I've had a few different models of HP computers. I can't recommend them really. I would actually warn against them as a rule. I'll probably never buy another.
Need we to dismount the motherboard or an access is sufficient?

It's still working to this day. And it's used every day for hours on end. So I would call it a success.
