  • @84randomdude I guess this comment was before you really liked Trane LOL? Also, is the 1999 Honda Odyssey that had premature transmission failure in the background. The best HVAC equipment you can buy and the best minivan you can buy in one video. Nice!

  • @RestrictedAccessCIP Yeah, I'm going to remove it. Yup, true!! This video was recorded in November, 2009.

  • Carrier's got the shiznit. That compressor sounds like its not having much fun.

  • @kodiak410a Trane over Carrier. Carrier over Goodman.

  • @84randomdude When's the last time you had a crankcase heater short out on a Carrier? Just got the new Carrier Greenspeed literature. After my training class of 3 days, we will be selling that line.

  • @kodiak410a Never had a crankcase heater short out on anything. I don't work in the field. I'm 14 years old.

But I'm a full believer in Trane equipment. I love Carrier, but I gotta stick with what I'm familiar with, and what in my eyes, is the best.

  • @84randomdude Trane is probably the worst brand out there right now. I have 3 Trane units and they all suck, cost lots in repairs. Efficiency Mechanical, the company that repairs my Trane units, says " Everything stops a Trane, Carrier is probably the best as of now.

  • @somerandomdude82 wrong. "IT'S HARD TO STOP A TRANE" is so true. What kinds of repairs? You didn't specify. Most likely bad installations, kinked refrigerant lines, or the famous OPERATOR ERROR.

Trane AND Carrier are both the best. Trane has their legendary Climatuff compressor, which is virtually un-stoppable, and Carrier uses rock solid Copeland Scroll compressors. Both GREAT brands.

Although I would say that Carrier makes a better liquid cooled chiller.

  • @GetTheFans You'd better be making a video of it SOON, jonahmusto.

  • Dang now that is one hell of a tank of a heat pump! Which is better, my badass RUUD or that Trane?

  • @wheely132 YOUR RUUD YOUR RUUD YOUR RUUD YOUR RUUD YOUR RUUD YOUR RUUD YOUR RUUD YOUR RUUD YOUR RUUD YOUR FRAKIN RUUD!!!!!! Do I make myself clear?

  • @84randomdude HOLY SHIT MAN! YES YOU MAKE YOUR SELF CLEAR! LOL

  • @wheely132 LOL!!! Good to see you were paying attention. lol!

  • @84randomdude YA YA man. lol

  • I dont know much on heat pumps but why do they have to defrost ?

  • @67tr876 Basically, when they are running in heat mode, the outdoor coil becomes the evaporator coil to absorb heat form the outside. Which is why it is called a "heat pump". Ir pumps heat. It is air conditioning the outside, and the warm condenser cir is taken inside, to heat it. The indoor coil becomes the condenser coil. So when it is cold outside, the outdoor coil with the cold freon in it, eventually freezes up. This stops air form being able to get through.

  • @67tr876 This also cuts the units efficiency and ability to heat quite a bit. So in order to maintain efficiency it has to defrost. It switches into cool mode, and the outdoor fan stops. The hot freon gas melts the ice. Meanwhile, inside, the indoor coil turns back into the evap coil that it is in the summer, and gets cold. This is why the heat strips energize when the heat pump defrosts, to keep the indoor air output warm. Hope this helps.

  • older Trane units like this ine are tanks newer ones are the quality of Haier central A/C units witch are JUNK!

  • @xctome Right! This unit will run for a pretty good amount of time. Haier is chinese crap.

  • @84randomdude Yup! Haier is chinese made crap! and newer Tranes are cheaply built crap! older Tranes FTW!
