I have this model of laptop..and if you look closer on the left side above the USB port and the SATA you can see a plastic button which jumps out if you press it. anyone to know what that is? Ididn`t managed to find on reviews so far..

I have seen this series 17" laptop in a store. It's a huge beast. You could easily kill a man with this thing. It's screen was so anti-glare that I thought it was a see-through sandpaper. If only the laptop would have better components it would be great.

the dv7 has an over heating problem that will cause the gpu to come off the mother board, causing damage that will lead to repair cost more expensive than the laptop originally cost.

13,3 screen, low-consumption cpu, in this category, 6 hours is normal with minimal load, and 5 is almost mandatory. Bigger screens consume tons more power, that's why.

I'd advise an i5 and maybe a laptop with dedicated videocard for graphical disigning/modelling/etc, but it costs way more, maybe 200 €s more :S But still this one is a good choice due to the price/value ratio, and U can use it for work.

I guess Yes, but AAP is not designed to be used on laptops, cas it's gonna eat up the battery before finishing Your job. A PC is way better for this kind of work i guess and a C2D is better for this, plus more than 2 GBs of ram. I'm using an E8400 at 3.6 Ghz + ATI 4870 + 2 GB RAM and APP is quite smooth, but a 4400mAh battery woud be finished in less than an hour I think with that consumption.
