  • So when the rabbit is neutered...Will the balls still be visible? But empty...

  • As for nipping/biting.... a rabbit cannot see directly in front of his nose, and will often nip/ bite an object to discover what that object is. Try approaching him slowly from the side to make sure he sees that it's your hand. If he still bites, give a loud, sharp, short "squeal" to let him know that his nip hurt you. He may look confused for a moment after your squeal. He probably isn't aware that his nips hurt. This has worked with Pixel and Skyler. Parker hasn't nipped... yet. :)

  • well my sister surley screamed her life away when thumper bit her. but i remember when he bit me, i did the same, screamed very loud. and then he did it to my sis. idk what is problem is. and it was near his eye.. im sure he saw my hand.. =/

  • Keep squealing when he nips. It's not unusual for it to take them a while to connect your squeal with his nips. Some may advise you to whack him with a newspaper like he's a dog, that's very bad advice. Make your squeals SHORT and SHARP to startle him. He should catch on reasonably soon. Patience, he's just a little guy trying to figure out what's going on.

  • His activity will level out to be what is normal for him. Skyler (my rabbit in this video) is not very active. His activity level maxes out by going from napping in his diggie box to napping in his condo. However, Parker is still very active, zooming around the room, darting around the furniture, and bouncing binkies across the floor.

  • lus he bites my twin sister.. its weird... he bit me once i dont think he likes girls.but hes fine now.

he still bites my sis tho.and hes a really hyper bunny. if we got hin neutered will he still be active? or less??

    cuz i love his personality.

  • haha sorry i got some youtube viseos mixed up lol, i meant to say that another bunny video was cute

  • really cute =]

  • Hey Doc, on average, how much is said surgery?

  • It depends a great deal on where you live. Some neuters costs less than $150 in some places and more than $500 in other places. However, if you adopt a rabbit from a shelter or rescue, he/she will already be neutered/spayed and all it costs you is the adoption fee.

  • my bunny was neutered and got him at the shelter. =(

my bunny pees everywhere and he aims his pee everywhere and its freakin annoying. if we get him neutered, you think he will pee nice and down like my other bunny!?p

  • Intact rabbits, males and females, will spray urine to mark what they consider to be their territory much like a cat will. And, you're right, it is VERY annoying. Yes, usually neutering will greatly decrease the spraying if not stop it completely. Skyler has never sprayed, nor has Parker. Be aware that it will take several weeks for the hormones causing the spraying behavior to evacuate "the premises". So, the spraying may not stop immediately. Running out of room, here. I'll conitnue....

  • Also, restrict the area to which he has access, if possible, to get him trained to using the litter box. Young rabbits have a hard time remembering to use the litter box, so restricting his area helps him to remember. I made the mistake of giving Pixel too much freedom when I first got her and her litter box habits were never very good. With Skyler and Parker, I restricted their roaming area, and their skills are much much better than Pixel's ever were. And neutering definitely helped!
