Alex mach weiter so. Ich hoffe das alles so wird wie du es möchtest. Ich drück dir die Daumen. LG Linda

  • He's so lovely. He doesn't be lazy and use his illness as an excuse. Good for you Alex! l'm watching Alex: A Passion for Life on 4oD and l'm enjoying it a lot!

  • What an amazing young man. Back in high school there was a boy in my class who had CF and he missed school a lot. I had no idea how horrible it is. I wish Alex the best and give him much respect. To have been dealt such a hand and still be a kind, grounded and out going person is remarkable. The world needs more young men like Alex. We can all learn from him.

  • Aw, he's so cute!

  • Oh, alex i love you ^^ Hang on and grab life when the chance comes! ^^ he's parctially(sp) deaf because whilst coughing his eardrums are clogging, and because of his lungs, he cant pop his eardrums like most ppl

  • that is a load of rubbish. Its the antibiotics that cause his deafness. CF does not make your eardrums clog up!

  • No, but one of the medincines he takes does. It told you on the show. Dumbass!

  • thats not what you said though, you said and I quote.... 'because of his coughing his eardrums are clogging, and because of his lungs, he can't pop his eardrums like most ppl'.

Since I actually have cf and take these medications that can cause deafness I do not think I am dumb and know what I am talking about and I can tell you cf does not cause your eardrums to clog up and our eardrums work like anyone elses. Maybe do abit of research before you start calling people dumb

  • @Mufasathegodlion

    Not really.

His partial deafness is caused by antibiotics he was prescribed as a child. They destroyed the hair cells in his inner ear responsible for transducing the vibrations within the cochlea into neural 'messages' and hence, led to a permanent 'sensorineural' deafness.

  • This toff packs all kinds of fudge.

  • Grow up.

  • i had no idea this condition destroys hearing i can't understand how either.

  • i have cf and dont know of this although i suppose the constant coughing can damage your eardrums

  • Its the antibiotics you go on that can cause loss of hearing, like tobramycin etc

  • whats the piece of music theyre singing at the begining?

    x

  • It don't mean a thing (if it ain't got that swing).

  • thankyou x

  • If you want to catch the new documentary about Alex Stobbs ("A Boy Called Alex"), it is going to be shown in the UK on Channel 4: "Alex, A Passion for Life" -- October 8th at 9pm.

  • Can I just say that I have CF and it is painful because of the infections we pick up and we get spasms in our lungs where mucus gets trapped-It's painful!!! We all talk in that way because we have problems with our sinuses. There are 1000's of us with CF and we don't complain about the condition- we live with it and get on with it. He's raising awareness for the condition so good for him!!!

  • isn't it because his hearing is going?... hardly his fault! >:-(

  • He got a place at King's in Cambridge and RAM.

  • Wow! What an amazing guy! I play flute, piano and I sing but I'm nothing like as good at music as he is. I think it's just great that he's coping with cf and really making the most of life. He's one of those people who can really cheer you up. I watched his programme and it made me cry so much. I want to go to Cambridge as well! I felt a bit crap but watching that programme really helped me. Cheers Alex! I aslo think he's really ggod looking! lol

  • Its puts all our crappy problems in perspective dosen't it? I respect this boy SO much, he is a great musicain-really GREAT. The Widors toccato was brilliant and his entire approach to life is brilliant. I wish the Best of work to him and i hope he stays cheerful

  • What a talented, remarkable young man.I am glad that he got accepted in the cambridge academy.I cried when i watched the programme about Alex's life.I wish him every success in the future. He's such an imspirational young man.

  • such a nice decent and talented guy

  • I watched it on cahnnel four and I'm struck by two things, his severe cystic fibrosis and, more importantly, how much he loves music. I think he's one of the only people in the world who understands that Music is an entire world that invites you to explore it. Touching, he's an amazing person.

  • the copyright thing isnt illegal if u give credit to channel 4 and richard and judy and state that u dont own alex stobbs or richard and judy lol

and hey prat...(nominet15) get over it!!!

  • get over it its telling a touching story Alex and how is it desperate for attention?! its merely entertaining people that watch this....to date 827 so tbh who cares its illegal, clearly not 827 people.

  • nominet15 - how does infringing copyright (which most videos on YouTube do anyway)make one a social retard desperate for attention.

  • I just watched this and was so touched! He said that in his future, he sees himself in London, practicing music but the most important thing he said was that he would never slack in life. I mean how many times in a week, in a day do we all slack...man, i feel relle guilty...

    definitely taught me a lesson

  • What a truely amazing young man. He is an inspiration to us all. I am so glad he has such a fantastic support network.

  • i watched it on channel 4 last night and it was truely AWESOME. i would totally date him if he wasn't 17. i loved him opn TV last night tho! it was AMAZING.
