  • As a lover of video games and sega saturn and dreamcast being my fav i half to say i agree! It is a totaly great felling to own something so rare and classic and play it on the system it was itended for. for me thats a huge part of the satisfaction holding the sega controller and playing it exactly how it was meant to be,im not a fan of the digital age of downloading game like the psp go what a joke but i fell ownership is amazring and has great value in every way. but to each there own

  • I dig treasure! I grew up with a number of fun games!

  • I don't get why?people say"I wish a release on XBLA is coming soon"etc,Why not just get the authentic experience and buy the real console & game? there is (for me anyway) a great feeling of satisfaction to power up my Saturn get out a disc (not a burnt one the real deal) and enjoy it. Plus with a download its just that ,it has no trade value no manual or artwork.& often when a classic title is ported they cant help tweaking the sound &/or grafx,& add stuff, Thats even more inauthentic

  • @paulspydar I'll bet you never buy a Greatest Hits edition of any game. :)

  • @PaleVoyager that`s right I dont(not yet any way) though my comment was directed to ports of older gen games to the newer systems , basically I think its better to play a given game on the system it was written for, Not an emulator or a rehashed download etc.

  • @paulspydar Some people never got a chance to own a Saturn or X older system. Some people live in places where these items just are not sold, and the decision comes between spending hundreds of dollars in online auctions in order to keep everything authentic, or simply paying much less for a port. I agree that often times undesirable changes are made to "improved" versions, but not always. I understand how passionate you are, but not every one feels the same as you.

    Let them eat cake.

  • @PaleVoyager by the POWER of GREYSKULL !! I will champion the first of their kind...!! & cast all digital download imposters into the pit! (but I see your point) :-)

  • @paulspydar I'm one of those people that never had this on Saturn. I've played it on an emulator. But I don't like playing emulators much. So I'm excited to purchase this and support Treasure. I've been enjoying every release so far on the XBLA. But this game is amazing.

  • @GameGuideMaster good for you ,,:-) its good that the Downloaded retro games are being enjoyed by some & hopefully it will turn you on enough to explore getting these fantastic retro games on their original hardware someday? It can also be money in the bank at a future date if you decide to sell for any reason, A big issue I have with digital downloads is that when you are done with them you are stuck with them, as you cant trade , swap or sell them on.thanks for your reply & happy gaming! :-)

  • @paulspydar That is good. : ) I really hope people keep on buying their great games. They put a lot of work into them. I never trade in my games much unless I'm not really into them. But a game like this would stay forever with me, haha. Your very welcome, and the same to you too! : D

  • @PaleVoyager

i agree w/ you, i have almost over 400 Japanese sega saturn games including this one, n i have like 7 Saturn consoles,2 American consoles w/ the oval shape buttons and i have 5 new models of the white japan Saturn too and all expensive. I'm such a big fan of sega saturn and always will become one. i spend almost over $5,000 worth of Capcom and SNk games for my japanese sega saturn, my room looks like a library full of JAP saturn games. enough to even by a BMW.

  • @paulspydar Because we want everyone to be able to experience the game. Not everyone owns a Sega Saturn, and its $10 right now in the XBLA rather than paying 30-50. I hear that you can play the original mode so its identical to the Saturn port.

  • @SuperChaosControl for your $10 you get a digital DL that is only yours to use only as long as you have your HD connected to your Xbox on your profile, you get no artwork no manual nothing physical that can be kept, traded, given away or lent, So I disagree its not "identical"

  • @paulspydar But still, not a bad deal considering the original game itself costs 5 times more than the Sega Saturn itself on Ebay. :)

  • One of the best 2D beat'em ups of all time.

  • Advance Guardian Heroes is a sort of "sequel" to this game by Treasure Corporation for the GameBoy advance. Click thumbs up so word can spread!

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this game so much! One of Saturn's BEST games, period!

  • This will re-release om XBLA this autumn! :)

  • I bought a Sega Saturn just to play this game, love it!!! Randy is my favorite character.

  • They need to re-release this on XBLA and PSN they'd make a killing

  • @cyphi1 ign just announced they are for Xbox live content. =)

  • @SpeedyThaSnail :D Thanks for the great news!!! I feel like I won the lottery!!!

  • i was a jinjaro man , its been over 10 years did i spell his name right?

  • @Feecle Jinjuro was my main character too! He's too cool!

  • hm I never knew of this game, but Advance Guardian Heroes was freaking amazing

  • man i wood love to play this again

  • Such a good game. I sold my copy of it on ebay a few years ago when I was feeling a bit skint and not thinking properly. Really regret it now. And yeah, Randy is easily the best character in the game, especially once you get all his magic powered up.

  • @MrThunderwing Randy was the man for sure

  • AAA beat em ups is something that is lately greatly, nowadays. Plenty of first-person shooters, role playing games, and etc, but very few beat em ups. Most of them are coming from Independent developers, castle crashers, dishwasher: dead samurai, and so on.

  • That's just the way the mainstream gaming industry is. I think the FPS genre's gotten very saturated, and the fighting genre's getting more attention these days (thank goodness), but I could stand to see more beat em ups too.

  • @XxDregonxX

And not so good, i guess we lack artists , 2D ones in these days with sincerity and skill, also the culture and fashion is dead.......

  • Man wish i had this game :(.

  • download cassini Frontend then download the gurdian hero's game and then play it on the emulator :P simple.

i just need to work the games on it :P

  • No need mate I bought a Saturn and I am blessed to have got this game too :0,best beat em up i played so far along with alien vs predator arcade :).

  • sweet :P try and clock gurdian heros with randy :P he's the best char in the game!(my grammer is kinda crap not my fault)
