This is a brilliant film , adults only though as the f bomb and other adult words is dropped more than once and some scenes are quite disturbing and graphic as the film comes to the end. Awesome film though , my fiance and I watched it together yesterday and we laughed about 75% of our way through the movie :D Colin Farrell is very , very funny in this and Bredan Gleeson is like a paternal figure to colin's character they work together well :D.

I love this film, and I hate the fact that films like this one with a brilliant plot, script and actors are overlooked these days for ones full of special effects and shit. Pisses me off.

Totally agree with you. Now it seems that the movies are all about the freaking special effects rather than good plots and actors.

Instead of the special effects help the reality of the movie, they've become the main attraction.

So when movies like In Bruges comes along they are totally underrated.

It's ridiculous!

And Colin has proved, that he is, indeed, a great actor.

He is brillant in this movie!

@gilmartin02 Very well said. I've come to really like Colin, both as an actor and--from what I've seen of him in interviews--as a person. He has some fantastic things to say about his life experiences, (especially in that 5 part Meaning of Life interview). He is, however, apparenlty quite insecure, which was an enormous surprise to me when I first watched him speak.

He's fantastic in 'In Bruges.' I think it was the first step to ensuring that people take him seriously, like he deserves.

i don't think they went for that... to make belgium look like crap... it's just the place in its own atmosphere... little bit depressive and suicidal, but on the other side, interesting and autenthic... not everyone can grab to that concept... a kind of a pugatory in my mind :)

I used to live south of Bruges/Brugge myself. And I don't think the film makes Belgium look like crap - the images were just too beautiful. I think it was the juxtaposition of these rather dark characters against the fairytale atmosphere.
