I think they forgot to tell you that the Prius only takes 8.5 gallons to fill the tank, while the jetta takes 14.5 gallons. The Prius does have an 11.5 gallon tank, but you will never put that much gas in it.
Wait... They didn't forget to tell you that.
Well I won't forget to tell you this.

New MPG (tests are more realistic) City/Hwy/Combined
And to fabricate a prius you have to distroy the enviroment. The batteries in the prius aren´t recycleable and to produce and transport them from the manufacturer to toyota takes a lot of energy and resources. So if you buy a prius you ruin our planet. Jetta is up to 99% recycleable and it has better milage on the highway. Don´t deny it! The only advatage of the hybrid is in a city trafic but not on the highway! And i don´t even talk about a quality, styling and driving plesure.
It still sucks! The jetta is way better than... THIS! The numbers only say that there are still idiots who buy a rubbish car for halirious amount of money.
NO. the jetta gets 50 mpg on the highway same as the prius.
the difference is, if you start Punching it and passing people, the tdi drops down to maybe 45 mpg, where as the prius drops down to 20.
TRUST ME, dude, i know what im talking about. the jetta gets way better milage real world. plus the new tdi's are Stop Start engines same as the prius. best of both worlds.
the whole test is biased.. but i would buy jetta over prius. the only concern i have is reliability. jdpowers rated jetta 6/10 on reliability based on last 3 yr performance.
Thank you for pointing that out - you beat me to it. They must think we are stupid in that regard, and to the fact that gasoline is much cheaper . . . but I would definitely buy the TDI over a 'smugmobile' Prius.
Ha ha ha! Yanks are scared of diesel! You cant deny your destiny.... diesels will simply force its way into the market.... dont try to fight it...it wont help.

Not for long. The earth is running out of oil, have you noticed?

Well, there are Biodiesels, which can be made from plants, so were not in trouble, and diesel engines can still grow with its demand.
