  • Kate ! I promise I forgot all the bad things you did to me... Come back home... We will have these long walks in the forest and in the mountains we had long months before...

Come back home and we will listen to Philip Glass and Keith Jarrett all nights long as we did before. I forgive you.

  • VIOLIN CONCERTO 1

  • I'm sure the answer will be a million movies, but was this song in a movie? It just seems to feel so familiar and epic that I feel as though I've heard it on a soundtrack before? The Fountain perhaps?

  • The Best Noii Info - The Latest Noii News and Information

  • the tragedy here is kate moss being displayed as an erotic object, she portraits the tragedy of many women in our society ! great video

  • this is supposed to be a tragedy, not erotic. The music represents the tragedy of a woman's life gone awry.

  • This is pretty damn well placed together; pure dead briljant man! What would Kate Moss think of this herself?

  • Contradiction in terms. Present day music can by no means be classical. Doesn´t matter how much one wants it to be so.

  • works for me on so many levels

  • Kate Moss is a cheap drug addicted prostitute and dont suit at all with classical composer...disgusting video...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • intoxicating, sad, & breath taking

  • So great, perfect duo!

  • MAGIQUE !

  • I first saw this video first and realized it came from the white stripes, after watching this one and checking out the real video, it;s two totally different types of music and i love how they made this one slowmotion, i like better this version. very sensual.

  • This brings new meaning to Kate Moss.

  • i would never have guessed that bringing Kate Moss and Philip Glass together in this way would be such a perfect combination.

    Thanks for posting this!

  • Goodness! that has to be one of the most sensual & sexy things ive ever seen.. no g string.. no fake boobs... & fabulously moving music too.. love the Moss..

  • I like the combination...still she looks a little aneurexic to me... and that's 1) not very pretty and 2) not very healthy

  • learn how to spell anorexic before bashing on it

  • love it!

  • AWESOME PIECE! THANKS 4 UPLOAD!

    ;)

  • who is the soloist? and the orchestra?

    this combination works magic! wow!!

  • I enjoy listening to Philip Glass's music, it´s a great idea bringing together Glass's music and a Kate Moss streaptease!

  • Bloody major!

  • If You Tube only showed this film it would still be the best site on the net!

  • superb violin music!

  • "It's not as if Glass ever professed to be a classical composer. "

Wrong. In fact he's the finest Classical Composer working. Check out his Operas and Symphonies sometimes.

  • best song & body ever..

  • this piece of music is absolutely brilliant. nothing more to it. so enchanting and hypnotizing. philip glass is a genius!

  • It is a beautifully paired black-and white video of gorgeous body and amazing music by Philip Glass. True pleasure to watch and listen. Thank you...

  • de muy mal gusto.

  • si tu gusto es lo rasposo, tienes razon..

  • JAJAJAJAJAJAJA

  • Does anybody know, wich ballet company made a performance using this music?,I taped it in a video years go, and I can´t remember the company´s name neither the piece´s name, and I would like to get it again, thxs

  • ah sorry meant to thumbs up not down. i vaguely remember seeing something like that too and want to see it again..

  • I can understand that some would find this "boring" or unsophisticated but for me, it's always been my favourite piece of music.

  • Very Cool!

  • Cette vidéo est simlement magique, tellement elle est touchante . . .

  • wow. this music is so so nice

  • Holy crap that turned out to be an awesome combination. A great meditation on lines, curves and movement. Thanks for posting this.

  • hahaa...philip glass is a champion of sound!

  • It's not Glass's violin concerto #2 - there's no such thing. It is, however the second movement of Glass's only violin concerto to date.

  • BEST THING ON YOUTUBE.

Can't stop listening and more importantly whatching!

    More of the same please.

  • I agree with TweedleDumm1. Also, whoever flagged this video needs to gouge his/her eyes out... I see more nudity and promiscuous behavior on the streets everyday... and what's this about stripping? There aint no stripping going on here, timguest.

  • listen to the music... don't be such perverted fags as to only care about whether there is a girl stripping or not....

  • First of all, I was only pointing out that the information timguest provided was incorrect, although, I could see how you might have thought that I was looking for a stripper. Timguest really shouldn't call this stripping because it's not. Anyhow, I am here for the music. I've enjoyed Philip Glass's music for about 15 years now.

  • Second of all, I'm heterosexual and your name calling is uncalled for, but I guess you just have issues with people who enjoy strip clubs. I hope you work those out before you get any older.

  • i agree with tweedledee meself...

  • So, this was originally a video for White Stripes?

  • Try it without the video. Weirdly better!

  • i love pg music but this boring

  • This video is an effort of doing an insightful appreciation of beauty through the internet. It's amazing how simple the idea was and then becomes one of the best things I've watched and heard on the internet.

  • Philip Glass is the best living composer of classical music.

  • ...except for steve reich

  • Neither of whom writes classical music? And what does it matter anyway? It's not as if Glass ever professed to be a classical composer. Yet his compositions are excellent. That's why he's earned himself a reputation.

Seriously, man. Some people don't really have anything constructive to say, ah.

  • @frankpharaoh

Nobody is a living composer of classical music!! Classical music due to history.

  • @Samherji

That's not actually true. "Classical" refers to a style, and the term can be applied to a piece of music based on characteristics of the composition that were popularized during the "classical period." There are elements of composition and music theory that separate contemporary classical music for contemporary instrumental music.

  • @frankpharaoh his music is minimalistic :)

  • I think the juxtaposition is beautiful! I agree with what Nithcouncil said below that it's almost commentary-like. It makes the view re-think sensuality, the erotic and how it is viewed and objectified.

  • ...beautiful... eros and tanatos

  • Giovanni Allevi's fans SCHOULD listen to this music.... this music contains many things.... contains the speaking of our days with the soul of the nature... let's go on making our brains and hearts growing up. and no carring back with composers without art..

  • It's stuff like this collaboration between Glass and Moss that would popularize classical music! Hear! Hear!

  • What is the name of the Philip Glass song??? I love it!

  • This piece is called Violin Concerto Movement 11. Have you seen the Kate moss version thats controversial but cool too.

  • Glass+poledancing seems to have upset some people, but to me it seems provocative in a good way. You'd normally expect a brash accompaniment; the subdued, rather tragic sound of the Violin Concerto provides a whole different emotional tenor. It doesn't seem erotic to me at all - in fact it looks like an act of desperation. That it's one of the worlds most famous women makes it all the more complex. I don't know if that's what you intended, timquest, but congratulations.

  • I agree. I prefer this version to The White Stripe's version.

  • I know! Awsome music, awsome video takes and an editor who knew what he was doing.!!! Bra-vo!

  • Close your eyes and listen, guys !! This music has nothing to do with that poor show !! Do you even know who Philip Glass is ? Sorry for not sharing your enthusiasm !

  • Hi eeysee, I feel the same way about Glass' music. I share your enthusiasm! :D

This, the violin concerto has to be one of my favourite pieces of music ever..

  • speechlessss. i love it!

  • one of the most graceful performances i've ever seen, Philip glass provides the perfect foundation for this video

  • that was actually quite beautiful, i was transfixed, it puts emotion into it

  • great work and perception, bravo

  • absolutely exquisite; I was transfixed. Excellent work.

  • Completely agree

  • Both the color schemes and the music are married very well. Not to mention the speed of the coincide perfectly with the tempo of the music. BRAVO

  • this is amazing

  • bravo

  • This is exquisite!!!! One of the best clips I've ever watched on you tube

  • to whoever said pole dancing doesn't allow you to express humanity - in norway the government even recognizes stripping as an art form.

  • sublime

  • What a wonderful collaboration. Sure, erotic, but way more, a visually stunning complement to one of my favorite Glass pieces.

Both Glass and Moss should be pleased and proud of this.

  • This is one of my favorite Philip Glass peices and cleverly paired with this Video made it in m y opinion a very artistic visual, it makes it all the more moving and sad, much better than the White Stripes. I think Kate would love it

  • Be interesting to know what Kate thought of it...

  • ..dulce, bonito, envolvente, sensual, hipnótico, natural, relajante, embriagador como un buen vino tinto español tomado a pequeños sorbos.. el aroma, el sabor y su efecto en mi mente..

  • great way to force those who want to see Kate Moss poledance to hear some of Glass´s fantastic music.

  • Tell me please which work of Philip Glass it is. I love this music.

  • Violin concerto

  • i love the music, but now this music is nothing without the girl moves :)

  • it's great it moves me more than White Stripes version... it's an art not just an erotic kind of view. great *_*

  • great music, but what kind of a perv r u?

  • the ring soundtrack is alot like Glass. the amercian ring. by hans zimmer

  • A beautiful piece of music, Kate Moss is a beautiful girl--- as worthy of love as any other.

  • Love the music. Why it is set against a person who has the intellectual brain capacity of a slug I have no bloody idea.

  • What kind of analysis have you done on her? How do you know what her intellectual "BRAIN" capacity? I do not know any other intellectual kidney capacity! what makes you superior to her? You are just a pretentious prick!

  • What a travesty.

  • the video is wrong for this music, no high spirit Glass for such insentive video, please take it away, thank you very much!

  • She act's like a puppet - which doesn't know what to with herself, like the title says. That's the concept, I think ... very interesting.

    ... great music.

  • fantastic

  • This composite video is a complete load of bullshit..

  • unconventional. love embraces all levels.

  • I love love Phillip Glass, but don't need to see narcisstic love played out in front of me..

  • the visual is like sand in my transmission - not a good thing

  • For me, turning Kate off enhanced the beauty of the music. Try it!

  • amazing combination. kate moss is such a muse!

  • the idea is great..sans this chick

  • Great song, great girl... but bad mixture...

  • beautiful!

  • I dig it. Why does it work so well?

  • If we knew that, it would be easily repeatable. Some things just work.

    :)

  • Melancholic litheness. I didn't expect this to be so moving! Great pairing :o].

  • This matches so much better than the White Stripes...you turned it into an esthetic art piece that has a beautiful butterfly performing.

    Wonderful.

8:36 minutes that were spent well and not wasted.

    5 of 5*****

  • monochromatic beauty + minimalist beauty = smart.

    Post more genius.

  • no i agree. its really sad.

  • Wow.. at first I thought it a cheap attempt to sex up Glass, but then I realized..

It's not about seduction, or sex - it's about the pain. A stripper's hard life, the men who go there, looking for something.. everyone missing something in their life, everyone hurting.

His music makes that so clear, and although she wasn't intending it, her expression is so sad. This video is so beautiful, and heartbreaking, thinking about how sad all of humanity is.

  • get a life its perfect...two polar opposites in one ouvre.....i call it genius!

  • i think it s a brilliant montage

  • Very nicely done, thank you for the visual and sonic trip.

  • perfect

  • I think the music and video compliment each other. Though the video was origianaly shot as a music video for a song called 'I just dont know what to do with myself' for a rock band called the White Stripes, I think the re-assigning to Philip Glass's Violin Concerto works brilliantly and to all you Dada and Anti Dada people out there- remember sound poems!

  • You argue like assholes. Silencio. Just listen

  • The music is great i adore Philip Glass, but what the hell! i mean it in the nicest way possible, but dear god! ewe...tramp.

  • Fantastic music, disappointingly dull video, what on earth were they advertising? Medical insurance?

  • This is splendid. Very effective. Thank you.

  • ahem,Dadaists sorta theoretically opposed to everything, which is funny, but in practice the juxtaposition of 2 found objects (vid, Glass) is dada-worthy, even if nothing much get subverted here. So what, Mofo? to quote Tristan Tzara...

  • As Dadaism and beauty are aesthetically antithetical, your even more confused than those whose prescience for sensuality was born on "Porky's" and "American Pie." You would know neither Dadaism, nor beauty were they even imprinted on your banal skull you Debordian fool!"

  • Ooh you pretentious snide! First of all there can be beauty found in Dadaism simply because it is art. For is beauty simply esthetic? Second, you are right this video is esthetic nor beautiful. This is a overambitious piece of work by a few conceited people who think they know art.

  • Of course beauty can be found in Dadism, as you said, it is art, and that is what art is based on. As for this video, you guys are making to much of it, it looks like an experiment to incorporate the beauty of Philip Glass into the images of Kate Moss, it creates a cool effect, art is just about feeling, don't be such a smart ass just feel what you feel.

  • Aah perferct reply ♥

  • Beauty cannot be found in Dadaism? Fucking ridiculous thing to say. It's an interesting vid, fuck off and stop trying to sound so pretentious. And "Debordian"?

  • Thank you all you compulsive enfants terrible that could not bear but be the profane arses you are and thus continue to make my point for me. BTW, the 3 soundtrax Glass put this year are amazing as well, check them out!

  • Maybe when you learn to respect others you can begin to listen to what they're saying, rather then being a stuck up asshole trying to leave a comment as condescending as possible. Thanks for the heads up about the soundtracks though, I haven't listened to much Glass put think I'll start.

  • video is nice, but distracts.

    it's a pity.

just like MTV, where you have no chance without sex in videos. (or at least it must look expensive)

bah, i hate that so much.

it's a pity, the music is fine

  • I don't think it distracts at all. I think it complements. The curves and turns of her body are reflected in the movement of the music, and there is probably more potential with this song to read emotional content in her dance than with the White Stripes song. Nice combination.

  • i totally agree. I think she is a current day icon.

  • My brain smiles

  • My brain smiles

  • just perfect

  • This video totally degrades Philip Glass's composition

to me this music does not speak of gross sensuality but leads us to deeper feelings and emotions...

  • What is "gross" about this sensuality? There is no debauchery here - just a person in touch with their humanity, moving in the dark to music. Do people have such a problem with it because it is Kate Moss, or because they can't look at a woman's skin without thinking she wants to fück? Maybe, just maybe, she is doing it for her own pleasure.

  • I don't completely agree, the original video was meant to seduce and entertain men, nothing more. Now, I do agree that this music perfectly compliments the female form, but a stripper isn't just expressin gher humanity

  • You're probably right about the intent of the original video - but some women dance because they *like* to. Not all strippers are single moms just trying to get by. All I'm saying is that exotic dancing isn't always about sex with another person. Sometimes it's about taking pleasure in yourself.

  • Of course, that's very true. But I don't think that's what they're referring to in THIS case.

As for the intent of the original video - the White Stripes' video - I wasn't commenting on that. Just this one.

  • Philip Glass's music is sublime, filled with passion and compassion. I have always loved his work. Thank you for this post!

  • This is inpiring and beautiful...

  • Sofia Coppola directed this

  • turns something purely sexual into something purely beautiful. Excellent work.

  • Needs more Dada. Then, it would be beautiful.

  • reminds me of the vid to metamorphosis 1 by philip glass with the ballet dancer

  • This is sureal as hell! hwyfan is right! So much more effective than white stripes!

  • This brings a new meaning to the classification of Philip Glass' music as "minimalism". Great job!

  • So, so, so awesome. I like the white stripes and I liked the video for this originally but I love this.

  • And yet...it fits...One word, sensual. I wonder if this is what Philip Glass had in mind when he composed the second mvt. of his Violin Concerto. That naughty naughty Phil

  • It works beautifully. Thanks for posting.
