What kind of gauges do you have?

they are prosport 52mm green(night) / white (day) oil press, EGT and water temp. I am on my 3rd oil pressure sender but other than that they have been good gauges for the money.

haha i do this all the time in shopping center carparks. my exhaust is 2db under the legal limit, i found it it makes the most bass at around 3grand.

It's almost time to change the stock one on my car cause it's beaten down quite good. How can you tell how many DBs an exhaust kicks out? I dont wanna go back to stock but dont want something that'll get my ass pulled over each time i drive my car.

you would need to go find some one with a decibel meter. if its louder then a lawnmower then its clearly over 100Db. the local policestation would test it for you. just tell them you need to test to see how loud it is so you could get a silencer if its too loud. or If you know any physics teachers/professors they would probably have one and could help you out

Get a Borla Hush catback. I have been running mine catless and it's still within the legal limit in cali. Deep clean rumble without it being obnoxiously loud.

Theres only about 3 exhausts that dont meet the CA legal limit for exhausts (on Subaru cars).

To Hellraise: 100 Db is alot louder than you think, very had to break it.

Maybe, but multiple friends from subie meets in my area have been cited for noise compliance issues while running exhausts like the HKS Hi-Power, TurboXS, and the APS 3.5 inch.

I got cited also when I had my vishnu on my evo (RIP Evo!!! ) but it didnt go through, they had to actually have a Db Meter and test it. Plus, in Cali, the noise level compliance is for when the vehicle is at Idle.

alright thanks lol. its alright i did remove my RS muffler once and drove around it was pretty loud :P never got it past 3,200 XD but now i have a inovative idea to having a muffler but not quite im gonna go get thoese hose clamps for the engine bay and replace my muffler bolts with them so when i want it loud i just loosen them XD
