Beautiful. What's the stringed instrument playing here? Sounds somewhat Arabic to me. I also like the hovering voice. "Let me fall out of the window with confetti in my hair..." - I've always loved that line!

the instrument is called Cümbüs, its a turkish invention from a luthier domiciled in Istanbul.

Great cover, has the atmosphere of original version. Nice, sad guitar, beautiful and somehow bored voice - perfect to be played in a lousy pub, full of cigarette's smoke and people drinking over their problems.

I thought I already rated this a five. Maybe I did twice--doesn't matter I love vamos'voice and your balilaikitar. IF i were to criticize, and I'm not saying I am, I would suggest that vamos learn the words. Maybe it was the soulful content of those words that made her look down in humility, but it looks like she's reading. on the other hand, one of the best covers of waits I ever heard. right there with bruce.
